Hey! Thanks for the correction I will pin your comment so all of the coily community can know the difference and seek out individuals who are passionate about caring for our hair and not just styling it🤎
Hear me out: They’ve been telling us they don’t want to do our hair but they needed our money back in the day. Now that they’ve raised prices, they don’t need 4C dollars. I stopped dealing with them years ago. I don’t go to get my hair done to hear negativity about my hair.
I notice they don’t cut too much of mixed or straight hair. But when they get long type 4 hair, they want to chop it all, off. Not saying some black women don’t have damaged hair. But if she asked for a trim, don’t ruin her hair. It’s very spiteful(and jealous). Also lazy. They don’t want to take the time to do our hair. You want our money, but want us to do most of the work. Absolutely, not.
That's largely due to the fact that they look at our hair when it's coarse and dry and tell us that's "dead hair" and cut it off. Don't let them tell you your hair is dead when it just needs a conditioning treatment.
I have 4a natural hair and I started going to my sister in law to braid my hair because I was tired of being mistreated and overcharged for having long thick hair everytime I got my hair braided. The last braider I went to didn’t even finish my hair and overcharged me. She also blamed me for not bringing enough hair when I asked her before I came to my appointment if 6 packs was enough and she said it was my fault for not bringing enough hair. She also braided my hair too tight, complained about my hair taking too long because it’s long and thick, and making me wait for two of her clients who came after me for almost two hours because it took too long to do my hair. I wasn’t allowed to leave because of her policy. She blamed ME for her triple booking BACK TO BACK! I also had to take the style out only a DAY after my appointment because I was in so much pain and some of my hair came out. I made sure to leave her a bad review after my horrible experience. I disputed the charge but she still won. My credit card company said I agreed to the service. I learned my lesson after that. I learned how to wash, detangle, trim, and style my own hair through RUclips. I go to my sister in law for braids and faux locs. Never going back to a stylist again. 🙄
Tight braiding is truly uncomfortable. I've had one weave in my whole life. Never did it again. The cornrows underneath the sew-in were just unbearable.
Baby a trim is less than an inch. Why are you cutting my shoulder length hair off to my neck ? You don't like black girls with long hair. You literally WANT us to have short hair, because why are you giving me a bob I didn't want?
An old male hairdresser friend told me that when he worked in the salon in the 90s, he would see the women hairdressers nodd to each other to plot to cut a client's beautiful, long, thick hair that barely needed a trim, off by 3 or 4 inches! The hairdresser would say, "Girl, you got some serious damage!" Then one or two other hairdressers would chime in agreeing with her and convincing the client that she needed a cut and not a trim! Then, when the client would leave, they'd laugh and sometimes high five each other! He said he'd seen that numerous times! I was shocked and asked him why they would do that! He said, "They were jealous and didn't want anyone having longer and prettier hair than they had!" 😳
@@cindychristian1700 Wow. What a story. Cannot say that I am surprised. People be on sneaky bs when it comes to hair. Especially when it is longer and prettier than theirs. "Ooh girl you need a trim. Your ends are split." Knowing good and well the ends are fine. Then cut off 3 to 4 or more inches of hair. Choose wisely who you let in your head. If you have a hair growth journey and your stylist has not helped you achieve that cut them off. They are useless.
GEN-X here. I feel so bad for y’all. Back in the day, you went to the shop, got the full salon service. And that was that. No drama. These new hair rules are unacceptable. I wear a relaxed pixie cut and thank god, I know how to do my own hair. I would never stand for this. This is why we should all just learn how to do our own hair I learned how to cut and safely color my hair by simply watching RUclips videos ( I already knew how to do the relaxer) All the best to my sistahs out there. Edit: I also go natural at times or I will wear crochet braids. I do those on my own as well.
Yes I watched you tube during the pandemic and taught myself how to do my own crochet braids - Also I know how to cornrow. These prices are outrageous! Back in the day I went to the salon and my hair was done by a licensed hair stylist and never paid a deposit! I paid for the service plus a tip and my hair was washed and blow dry!
My biggest problem with the salon was heat damage. One stylist deemed my very dense hair “untrained”. To achieve optimal straightness, she used a pressing comb, a marcel flat iron, AND a marcel curling iron on my hair during *every* visit. Mind you, my main goal for even going to the salon was length retention. All I got was breakage. Not to mention, my presses NEVER lasted. My hair would be straight for about three days. I would bet my bottom dollar my stylist wasn’t even using heat protectant, which I didn’t know existed at the time. When I tried to ask about products and hair care tips, I got nowhere. I stretched my salon visits out to every 8 to 12 weeks to minimize the damage. I wore my hair natural in the interim. It didn’t make much difference, I still had heat damage. I went to a new stylist who used the same tools minus the marcel flat iron. He admitted to me he had the stove turned up slightly higher when he did my hair than the setting he used on most clients. Again, the reason being my somehow STILL “untrained” hair. My breakage issue persisted. I got a big trim during every visit because my ends were being repeatedly fried. My 5 to 6-year length retention journey was an epic fail. It took me abandoning the salon altogether and studying RUclipsrs who had very long natural hair for my own hair to return to health. That was 2016. Ironically, my inspiration was another stylist at my last salon. She and I had virtually the same hair type, except her hair was VERY long. I couldn’t understand why her hair was “growing” and mine wasn’t. Then it dawned on me. She was natural. During the entire year or two I was getting my hair done there I’d seen her get shampooed and her hair colored, but, I realized, I’d only seen her with her hair straightened ONCE. That was an epiphany for me. I am past hip length now and my hair is denser than it has been in decades. I straighten my hair once or twice a year, tops (usually far less frequently than that). I have taught myself to flat iron my hair with *bone straight* results, which is my preference, at 390-400 degrees Fahrenheit. I can make my presses last a minimum of 3 to 4 weeks and I completely avoid heat damage. ❤
Thanks for commenting and I’m not surprised since it’s still coily hair….. I actually been looking for someone with 3c/4a hair for a project I’m working on…if you’re interested please email me at coffeecuties777@gmail.com 🤎
Unfortunately not all black hair stylists were trained to do black hair. I learned that the hard way at a Hair Cuttery. I might check out Ulta and see what they're doing. Appreciate the heads-up.
I am of African descent, so my mom African friend or my aunt would make my braid. They talk on the phone too much, go eat and they take long pause. I had to brush, moisturize and wash my hair before coming. But they would feed me, make me sleep at their house and I could play with my cousins, so it was cool. It’s was normal to me as a kid. Thanks to me, I can do my own hair braid, cornrows, crochet and twist with or without extensions as I grew up🎉🎉
I sent them there too. I can’t tolerate disrespect! I feel like they think I need them more than they need me! Like I rock my natural hair 90% of the time I’m just here to treat myself. But I’m over them
I’ve seen a stylist say “don’t come to my chair with dirty hair” on her booking site. Mind you this was for a shampoo service 🙃 I had a stylist cut 5 inches off my hair last year when she was supposed to just trim it lol. I’ve gone to several stylist who use a paddle brush to roughly detangle my hair in the bowl. I have very fine, coily hair and I literally can feel them ripping my hair out. I had my hair fall out in chunks after going to a stylist for demi hair dye. 4 years natural and 5 stylist later, I just do my own hair. Smh. The irony is that I went to them because I thought they were supposed to be “better” than me. But nah.
Girl envy is real, it took me one time to let a stylist ruin my hair. My hair was past shoulder length, and thick. When I got up my hair was at the top of my shoulders, talking about it was dead ends. Ever since then, do my own hair and I'm just about waist length
I have 4c hair and when I used to go to the beauty shop back in the 90s I always got full service! Wash, condition, detangled, hooded dryer or blow dried and a trim when needed! I never came with my hair half done! If I ever go back to any salon I'll ask beforehand if they truly do 4c hair with full service!😊
It's a shame we cannot find black hair care specialists and stylists. I have never come across a hair stylist who was willing to install braids/twists on hair that is not blow-dried, even though i have installed my own knotless braids on unstretched hair and it turned out fine and just required a little more intentionality. On many occasions when i have gotten my hair done with a stylist, they complain that my hair is too thick and rough (i have high porosity fine strands but high density 4c hair) and so they always comb my hair rough because "you can afford to lose some hair" or "you have so much hair you won't even notice it's breaking off". They do not care or respect BW trying to look after their hair and make every effort to undo all the hard work put into nurturing natural hair.
I've had natural hair my whole life and never had these experiences. But growing up, I went to grown ass women and they were happy to do a rollerset or blowdry & press. I don't have 4C hair, but in the 90s, everyone had relaxers so my hair would always take more time. Today, I still go to a grown ass woman. You cant touch my head if you aren't over 50.
Thanks for commenting 🤎and that’s a good tip…maybe an older stylist will know how to properly take care of black hair but unfortunately what happens when they age out ?
@@CoffeeCuties777 no problem sweetie! That is indeed a dilemma. My current stylist is in her 50s, I don't know what I'm gonna do when she retires. She's been doing my hair 10yrs. But just from my life experience, older women understand haircare a little bit more where the younger girls focus on the style. That's whether you're relaxed or natural.
I’ve learned about my natural hair via RUclips University & research. 10/10 would highly recommend. Some information can be false so please adhere to evidence-based research.
When I was a young girl, the ONLY woman who touched my hair was my mother. She’s older now, not elderly, but she tired of my grown ah and tells me to go to the salon’s instead, and honestly, my hair has severely suffered since I’ve been visiting them. Breakage, no edges, I’m talking the whole LOT. I suck at hand eye-coordination so I don’t know how to braid, nor take care of my own hair that well, but not only will I be learning for myself, but for my future daughter(s) as well ❤❤😊
That’s unfortunate that a stylist can not take care of our hair better than our older loved ones and hand eye coordination is not my strong suit either but I manage and I know you’ll do great as well 🤎
The stylists learned everything about natural hair from the women on youtube who took the time to lear their hair, and spill the secrets online. (not from cosmetology school) and then want you to sell your soul for them to work on it. Not happening. Stylists are just as exploitative of natural hair as the beauty industry with its products and brands. A woman should know how to do her hair unless she doesn't have the time or capability. But, the last time I went to a stylist was over 4 years ago. Sure there are some good ones out there, but I found this sudden rise of Natural hair cosmetologist and stylists suspiciously giving money grab vibes.
When did ppl start dealing w/"stylists" over beauticians at real salons? Like how did that trend start? Is it regional? It feels like a whole generation of ppl opened themselves up to be treated badly bc they don't know any other way. Also, growing hands was way before the 90s. My grandmothers used that term and they were born in the 20s & 30s. There was a shift in expectations along the way. When did all of this change?
That’s a good question my guess is that a lot of the traditional stylist may have aged out and now we live in a more “drive thru” like society were people don’t want to take the time to learn skills instead they want fast results but that results in the problems we are facing now🤎
As a child I would get my hair done from a stylist that was a family friend and she would make all types of negative comments about my 4c hair. It ruined me! I had no confidence to wear my natural hair until I was in my early 30s. My mom would just laugh at the comments she made like it was funny. My mother always wore sew ins and wigs and doesn’t like natural hair so she always made sure I stayed in weaves, sew ins and braids. I stopped going to that friend after I did try to wear my own hair and she burned it off straightening it. Now she sees me doing my own hair and I think she is jealous that I was able get it healthy and looking good without her and when she sees me she says I can do your hair. No ma’am I will never let touch my hair and speak negativity over it again. Took me decades to get the courage to wear it natural.
4c PRIME hair may be a challenge, but as you said, it is the most versatile. For me, it is quite a JOY!!! I LOVE 4C hair! Sometimes when I see Brothers and Sisters with 4C big Afros, I imagine putting my hands in it and styling it. I love it so much! Because of some of these self hating stylists, I have learned to care for my hair and have been doing so for almost 30 years. I am LOVING the journey! Thank you so much for this video. Let's BOYCOTT these kind of stylists and have CONTROL of how 4C hair is cared for and regarded, starting with ourselves. I love your channel! 💖✌🏾💖✌🏾💖✌🏾💕💖🤗
Black folks saying 4c hair is not allowed in their salons? Black folk get it together. Also Asians hair falling out from them getting the chemical like black women did. Karma said you are gonna feel black folk blues😂😂😂. Great video. You came through with this one.
@@SkyeID I am wondering the same thing sis. This is ridiculous. How are you black and don't want to deal with 4c hair? Unfortunately we have to find a black hair salon that deals with 4 type hair in all categories.
I stopped going to hair salons like 10 yrs ago. Majority of them will not grow your hair or take care of it. They only want to do cuts, weaves, color etc
These so called stylists be running scams, I got scammed by one and they never came to me or never had an address for me to come. I am done with hair stylists, its frustrating. I rather do my own hair.
It's sad that it has come to this. I had a great natural hair stylist who new about great hair care for natural hair. She was excellent but after awhile she decided she wanted to take a bread from doing hair. I respected that. I have not been to any stylist since and this was about 6 years ago. The sad part about this is that whyte and hispanic women are learning how to do black hair. What is wrong with our sistas not wanting the learn how to do natural hair? Somebody help me out. Great video!
Thank you 🤎and it sucks when you find a good stylist and they move on to other things for whatever reason and I also see other races of women learning about black hair smh 🤦🏾♀️
I just went through a situation like this. I blocked her and canceled my appointment so quick. Like what do you mean you want no product in my hair? My hair will be dry and brittle and it’ll break. Like, are they dumb.
I’m so happy that I know how to do hair myself. It doesn’t matter what type of hair someone has a real stylist can do any type of hair. So they should go back to school. I personally don’t go to anyone beauty salon. They can’t do hair when I did go they always disappoint me and be over changing people for us to go wash it out and I’m black
Glad I came across your channel! I have thick 4c hair and was considering the possibility of going to a salon to show me what my hair needs but after these videos ive just been taking the time to learn my hair so i don't have to risk going to a bad one or going thru alot b4 getting the right one. Its crazy that we have to deal with that from our own people while they want our monetary support. I remember my mom back in the 80s goung to salons and they did the full service! Older old school stylist, real stylist! These younger stylist these days, like you said not all, are just lazy but just want to charge full price for half the service and add unprofessionalism on top of that. I'm learning my hair , lot of work but its ok. I love my thick natural hair and wouldn't relax it again if they paid me lol😂 Great video! I would love one of those mugs they're beautiful!
I think it starts in some of the cosmetology schools, I went to one and the teacher n the student didn’t let me feel welcome, even how they handle my natural hair at the time. I left the school looking like I got struck my lightning
So happy I was never that girl that needed to get my hair professionally done on a regular basis. I basically maintain my own hair and only go when I need a cut.
I have 4c hair that is thick and dense. I had been doing ny hair for 7byears before i decided yo go to a Brazilian salon thinking they knew what they were doing. It was for my bf birthday hed never saw my hair straight had it in twists most of the time. This woman not only complained about it being too thick and tough to work with but spent 8 hours on my head. She raked through my hair roots to ends taking so much hair then said it was because it was tangled. it came out beautiful but i know that i lost a lot of hair length and the fact that it hurt the whole time made the experience horrid. Style only lasted 3 days and she wouldnt explain how to take care of it. I decided if i ever straighten my hair again id do it MYSELF.
I started going to Dominican shops 😩 they’re cheaper anyway. they may not wanna deal with it but they’re willing to do it all in one fee or for a little extra and I’m okay with that. They even still care enough to give the massage 💆🏾♀️
Be careful! I heard the mix relaxer in the shampoo or the conditioner! I've heard they really can't do 4c hair, but they want them 4c $$! I even saw a young lady on the People's Court who sued but lost. She said her hair broke over the next few weeks after she left the salon! But she couldn't prove that the product the stylist used on her hair caused the damage! The judge said if it happened over a few days after her service, then that might've been some proof, but weeks was too much time! The stylist came with the bottle of conditioner that she used and said she used it on all her clients! I didn't believe her! Her hair had to be cut in a cut short style, but she didn't like it! The judge and the host said she looked great with short hair. But she said, " Thanks, but at the end of the day, I gotta wear my hair the way I want it!"
@@cindychristian1700 oh damn I had idea 🤷🏾♀️ I only go to the salon maybe once or twice a year. I just know the one I went to was pretty legit, but clearly there’s some problems I’ll dive deeper into for the whole thing.
It’s sooooo different now . If you can’t wash my hair and comb my hair . You sholl can’t fix my hair.. I do t have time for the foolishness . And they wanna over perm your hair , then it’s overprocessed
Idc idc if u can’t do every single hair type there is to mankind then you are not considered a true professional therefore don’t deserve the privilege of my hard earned money nor to touch my beautiful hair nor do i trust you. in my eyes sorry not sorry
@@NamasteInYourLane that may be true but it just pushes customers like me who can do our own hair to just keep doing our own hair and not go pay a stylist at all. My hair is long but fine and I really don't think it takes that much longer than someone with shorter hair.
@@WilliamsPinch as I stated in my prior comment, my hair is long and FINE and it doesn't take that much longer ( if it's even longer at all) to do than someone with shorter hair. I would think several factors and not just length alone determines the amt of time it takes.
Sometimes black hair stylists will discriminate against 4c hair especially if it's long and they'll usually have a European textured wig on, but will be the same people to cry about racism from others.
I prefer to do my own hair, even though I have type 3c/4a hair. My hair thrives when I take care of it myself 😉😌 And by the way: if the hairdresser has no edges on her own head: *RUN, LEAVE SMOKE BEHIND!!* 😅 - Diana Boakye I'm "glad" you mentioned the trend with Asians mimicking type 4 hair, gives them problems. Asians made a mockery of us and our hair and now that we showcase to the world that our hair is beautiful and the most versatile, they suddenly wanna have it 🤦🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
Thanks for commenting and I’m actually looking for someone with 3c/4a hair for a hair chart I’m working on. If you are interested please email me at coffeecuties777@gmail.com and I agree about the edges lol 😂 and I did a full video on the Asians wearing 4c hair…be sure to check it out on my page and let me know what you think 🤎🤎🤎
When Stylists put these ridiculous hair rules they don’t even follow themselves, they didn’t figure out that the majority of Black People have quote “4C” hair and they left, no wonder they starving and going back to 9 to 5, they’re charging top dollar to play in your hair. I miss beauticians, they charge for full service, stylists just style your hair, most of the time, it’s just flat ironing already washed and detangled hair or slapping on a wig. No thanks, I’m good.
Why don't they do what the african braiders do? They can just have about 3 people to one head detangling the hair. It even can be a new job title! I can already see it now "professional detangler" or "PDs". It also can bring in new jobs for people. I don't get why this is so difficult for people to do.
@@WilliamsPinch Yeah, they can be cosmetology interns and they would also be under the hairstylists learning how to do things as well. Interns usually get paid a little less or do parttime work, so the person who's paying to get their hair done won't be in a situation where they're paying three times the usual wage to get their hair done. You also usually don't pay 3 african hair braiders to get your hair done if that's what you were implying. They pretty much just help to braid the hair to get the job done at a faster rate usually. At least, I've never had to pay all 3 of them. I don't know about you though.
I don't get mad when other races try to imitate us. You know why? Because the same problems we have/had with our hair, culture, history etc etc all those curses, problems etc will come right back on them. They will reap what they sow. Wear your hair or at least a similar texture to your own. Also pray over everything.
Why be mad at all! Black woman imitate other races . Straight blonde hair isn't a black style!! Black people could be making a business out of this craze to look black. But instead your mad?? That's archaic backwards thinking!!
Even white women pay more for longer hair. That's par for the course. You use 2x the products so the cost is passed on to the client. Keeping your hair moisturized will help it stay more manageable. I used to do hair for 20+ yrs. I mainly focus on hair health. I didn't do styles that my clients hair was not able to handle. I don't have time to be blamed for anyone's hair falling out. Try going to the local beauty college. You can ask for the best in whatever service you're looking for and I guarantee you will find someone on her way to graduation, and she can hook you up. Good luck ladies.
When you work a job and put in more hours, dont you want to get paid for the extra hours that you worked? When you buy an item are all sizes the same pirces.? Aren't prices based on the type and amount of service that is given?
At their prices I am learning because those that want to teach you in the salons about your hair are worse than the African braiders with their prices…ijs
Im a 13yr blk stylist who has never done 4c hair. European hair is much easier to maneuver. I always send 4c clients to a Dominican 🇩🇴 salon for a silk press
Thanks for commenting and I personally find it unfortunate when black stylist don’t do black hair because it is easy to manage with proper education and techniques but it’s better to be honest then to mess up my hair or the hair of others…did you go to cosmetology school?

I'm sorry, but "untrained"? It's hair strands, not a golden retriever! What "training" did she expect your hair to have?
@@SkyeID: My hair was supposed to become “heat trained” under her tutelage. 😂
@@hereforit2347 oh no! That's not heat "trained", that's heat damage!
@@SkyeID: Exactly! 👍🏾
Chile. I’ve got 3C/4A hair and they’re not trying to hear me, either. If they can’t play with bone straight hair and styles, they don’t want to play!
Thanks for commenting and I’m not surprised since it’s still coily hair….. I actually been looking for someone with 3c/4a hair for a project I’m working on…if you’re interested please email me at coffeecuties777@gmail.com 🤎
I don’t know who needs to know, but some Ultas have natural hair stylists.
Thanks to me, I can do my own hair braid, cornrows, crochet and twist with or without extensions as I grew up🎉🎉
Some of these “stylists” have a lot of audacity 😒😞🤨🥴.
Thank you! I've been waiting for these rude stylists to be sent to the Shadow Realm 😀🙏🏾🙌🏾
😂😂
I sent them there too. I can’t tolerate disrespect! I feel like they think I need them more than they need me! Like I rock my natural hair 90% of the time I’m just here to treat myself. But I’m over them
lol most stylist could make more money working at Chik-fil-A. Black women are so cheap 😂
But nah.
Omg 😳 wow thanks for sharing and that is so true when they do detangle they are so ROUGH…5 inches is crazy smh 🤦🏾♀️
That fine coily hair is underrepresented girl fr. I don't let people just touch mine anymore.
Did You Press Charges?
Girl envy is real, it took me one time to let a stylist ruin my hair. My hair was past shoulder length, and thick. When I got up my hair was at the top of my shoulders, talking about it was dead ends. Ever since then, do my own hair and I'm just about waist length
I have 4c hair and when I used to go to the beauty shop back in the 90s I always got full service! Wash, condition, detangled, hooded dryer or blow dried and a trim when needed! I never came with my hair half done! If I ever go back to any salon I'll ask beforehand if they truly do 4c hair with full service!😊
🤎🤎🤎
😮
There are few natural hair salons out there.
The FOOLISHNESS!!! Type 4 hair is BEAUTIFUL! There is some GORGEOUS women in this video.
In this economy, these fake stylists are gonna have a hard time finding a 9-5! Unless it's a job where they scam people!
Haha … you attend utube university too? lol. 😮😊
no one will EVER cut my hair, but me. I tell them "NO" They got alot of excuses...... I say "NO".
I suck at hand eye-coordination so I don’t know how to braid, nor take care of my own hair that well, but not only will I be learning for myself, but for my future daughter(s) as well ❤❤😊
That’s unfortunate that a stylist can not take care of our hair better than our older loved ones and hand eye coordination is not my strong suit either but I manage and I know you’ll do great as well 🤎
Sheesh… I didn’t know 4c hair was going through all this. I have locs so they don’t do all of this. Loose natural goes through a lot of bs 😢
I agree 🤎🤎🤎
Not “you may not get out until 9 a.m. the next day” 😩😩😩😂😂😂😂😂. That was hilarious.
I'm not going to any salon that won't wash my hair. That's crazy.
That’s a good question my guess is that a lot of the traditional stylist may have aged out and now we live in a more “drive thru” like society were people don’t want to take the time to learn skills instead they want fast results but that results in the problems we are facing now🤎
This sea of unprofessional black women have got to stop. Even the scammers are unprofessional and bad
I agree…thanks for watching 🤎🤎🤎
Wow 😮 so sorry you had to deal with that but it’s great hear you learned how to style your own hair🤎🤎🤎🤎
i just use a crochet needle to do kinky twist and my own braids instead of paying at this point. doesn’t look as neat but it’s doable
I agree 🤎
Plus, over time, you'll get better at doing it yourself. ❤
Do you consider the kinky twists to be marley twists as well?
Thank you 🤎🤎🤎
no 4C? So, natural hair is not welcome at natural hair salons?
@@SkyeID I am wondering the same thing sis. This is ridiculous. How are you black and don't want to deal with 4c hair? Unfortunately we have to find a black hair salon that deals with 4 type hair in all categories.
I stopped going to hair salons like 10 yrs ago. Majority of them will not grow your hair or take care of it. They only want to do cuts, weaves, color etc
I just don't remember it being this difficult to go to a salon... It's like an act of congress smh... What happened??????
Envy, and you have to be careful because they could be witches too.
Whew!!! 😮💨. We ALWAYS gotta find something to complain and have conflict about. Smh. Figure it out!!! Smh.
Huh 🤔
These so called stylists be running scams, I got scammed by one and they never came to me or never had an address for me to come. I am done with hair stylists, its frustrating. I rather do my own hair.
Wow smh 🤦🏾♀️ I heard girls talking about this on TikTok…sorry that happened to you🤎
It's sad that it has come to this.
Why do you think she stopped doing hair?… Because she could make more money doing something else lol.
Thank you 🤎and it sucks when you find a good stylist and they move on to other things for whatever reason and I also see other races of women learning about black hair smh 🤦🏾♀️
@@WilliamsPinchThat's not the reason she stopped. It was a health issue.
Glad I found your channel.

Thank you for watching 🤎🤎🤎
The prices are insane for hairstyles now.
I agree smh 🤦🏾♀️ thanks for watching 🤎
Many black people have 4c hair!
I agree but not all of us do🤎
@CoffeeCuties777 Oh, I know that, but these hair dressers act like people with 4c hair descended from another planet!😊
Exactly!!!
I decided if i ever straighten my hair again id do it MYSELF.
i’m sorry to hear that. i don’t go to salons anymore tbh
I started going to Dominican shops 😩 they’re cheaper anyway. they may not wanna deal with it but they’re willing to do it all in one fee or for a little extra and I’m okay with that. They even still care enough to give the massage 💆🏾♀️
I got hair damage and lost going to D salons. Many have also. Be careful
@@NycBeautyThey tend to use too much high heat, and were found to be sneaking relaxer in the conditioner. Definitely be cautious.
I just know the one I went to was pretty legit, but clearly there’s some problems I’ll dive deeper into for the whole thing.

if they can't wash and comb hair, then are they really stylists?
Idc idc if u can’t do every single hair type there is to mankind then you are not considered a true professional therefore don’t deserve the privilege of my hard earned money nor to touch my beautiful hair nor do i trust you. in my eyes sorry not sorry
Agreed!
I never understood why some salons charge more for longer hair and will literally measure your hair to determine how much you owe!!
I get it because it takes longer to style and that's less time they have to take other customers.
@@NamasteInYourLane that may be true but it just pushes customers like me who can do our own hair to just keep doing our own hair and not go pay a stylist at all. My hair is long but fine and I really don't think it takes that much longer than someone with shorter hair.
Time = money. Every other culture of people understands that… besides black people.
They can’t even spell “effective” right.😵💫
Lol 😂
I prefer to do my own hair, even though I have type 3c/4a hair.
My hair thrives when I take care of it myself 😉😌
And by the way: if the hairdresser has no edges on her own head: *RUN, LEAVE SMOKE BEHIND!!* 😅 - Diana Boakye
I'm "glad" you mentioned the trend with Asians mimicking type 4 hair, gives them problems.
💯 🤎🤎🤎🤎
Why would someone bar a hair type? A shampoo is one of the best feelings ever. Great clips still does that
Asians with Skills tend to My Hair! They Learn Everything about Cultures to Advance! BW need to Take Notes!
Why don't they do what the african braiders do? They can just have about 3 people to one head detangling the hair. It even can be a new job title! I can already see it now "professional detangler" or "PDs". It also can bring in new jobs for people. I don't get why this is so difficult for people to do.
That’s a good suggestion 🤎
Are you going to pay 3 people to do your hair? Lol.
@@WilliamsPinchnot!
I agree thts a nice idea. I'm early good at detangling too, I use ACV hair rinse from Creme of Nature as my secret weapon.
I don't get mad when other races try to imitate us. You know why? Because the same problems we have/had with our hair, culture, history etc etc all those curses, problems etc will come right back on them. They will reap what they sow. Wear your hair or at least a similar texture to your own. Also pray over everything.
I agree 🤎🤎🤎
Why be mad at all! Black woman imitate other races . Straight blonde hair isn't a black style!! Black people could be making a business out of this craze to look black. But instead your mad?? That's archaic backwards thinking!!
It’s just laziness on their part. I do my own hair and also others. But I love it when they have their natural hair bc I can grip it better.
I agree definitely laziness 🤎
But they are hairstylist they should know 😂😂😂 I got on you tube university and I do my own hair ❤️🫶🏾🫶🏾❤️💯
I agree and RUclips university is where it’s at …thanks for watching 🤎
Nothing wrong with that, but having a job in which you don't complete your work or have poor, substandard customer service will get you fired so.....
Do your own hair if you can’t afford a decent stylist. The end.
I agree 🤎
Thank you ❤
At their prices I am learning because those that want to teach you in the salons about your hair are worse than the African braiders with their prices…ijs
