Thank you so much for mentioning that, it helps me to understand and realize that when I'm discussing something any topic in my videos to stay on that topic, because I do tend to get scattered all over the place and go from one discussion to the next and even sometimes when I edit my own videos I'm getting lost because I'm going all over the place, if that made sense lol I'm going to try to work a lot harder on keeping to one topic and staying on one task at a time. Danny, great cabin video, but honestly how many plastic beads does on person need?! 😂 I really love how the more you declutter and organise the more focused and less easily distracted you are becoming. You stay on task far longer now which is awesome. I also just wanted to add a thank you from me for addressing the issue of the declutter-reclutter cycle. I hopefully believe that when people fully understand the detrimental impact of the declutter-reclutter cycle, the less crap people will buy. The plastic tat that people buy repeatedly in seconds, just to soothe their emotional itch or because they are bored without a second thought to it’s environmental impact is just heartbreaking. If people dealt with their self worth, emotional baggage, loss, boredom and traumas in a better way by looking inward and addressing their issues, the less they would need to self soothe with cheap trash and throw-away-within-a-year decor. I think people need to see they are ‘worth more’ than that little dopamine fix; and that the environment the next generation will inherit is worth more than being one giant landfill or dumping ground for toxic chemicals that take so Iong to biodegrade. Did you know than 7% of clothing donated each year gets a second life? The real secret to people having a cleaner, more functional, relaxed space is not to buy so much in the first place and stop using buying things as a love language. The best love language is to truly listen to people and take the time to share and emotionally connect.
I'd keep the games & necessities & lose the rest. The cabin should be fun & for peaceful rest & relaxation. I'd make a large 'Get 'er Gone' pile & donate what is left unclaimed in a reasonable amount of time. You're doing great ..I'm still watching...
Family cabin's are definitely dumping grounds for the gently used, hope to use, and even sentimental stuff. My Mother-In-Law and I just did this exact same thing at our family cabin. It was actually really fun to go through all the books, toys, and games that we started bringing up when my kids were born. We actually had two trunk-fulls and a truck bed of stuff that we donated. I had Amazon deliver several organizing bins and drawer containers to use along the way. Then we all pitched in and deep cleaned everything. It felt so nice! I am sure your cabin feels refreshed!

I'm almost at the end of the video, I'm so proud of you for "confessing" what you been doing as far as the decluttering and recluttering cycle. It happens. We're all guilty of doing that. Yeah that was a difficult conversation to have with myself 😆🤣 I got to admit I was yelling at myself a little bit, just because I had so much stuff up there. I over pack when we go to the cabin and we never use all of that stuff. It's just way too much stuff. But now that I've simplified everything, and I realize that I'm not going to use all of that, the next time I go up there I'll be taking inventory a lot better. That is a great idea. The next time I come back up there I was going to relabel those bins, but I'm going to label those pouches on the over the door organizer. Because you're right with so many people in and out of the cabin labeling that over the door organizer would be so helpful. Cuz it will get disorganized if I don't. Love that. Yeah I saw that toy chest and I thought I could really make a cool DIY with this. I know exactly where I would use it too. That will be a future video. Tom doesn't want it he wants to get rid of it, I think he wants to get rid of the other chest too and just put a big long shelf there. There’s my girl friend! The chest of games is a cedar chest, sense the smell! Love your hair, by the way! Had a garage sale for one day and made $280. Not bad! It’s been too hot this summer so we couldn’t stay outside to do the rest of it. My daughter was helping me and she lives almost an hour away. So now we have to pack up the garage and load the car up to donate the rest of it. I am done with garage sales!!! I am still decluttering the house. Cleaned out more dishes from the kitchen. Create a store and shop it before you shop elsewhere. Go through every few months and say to yourself .. Self😂if it’s not been used in a year…. Someone else can benefit from it. ?! If it’s taking up space and not beneficial it’s costing you time and money!!❤❤❤❤hugs
Do the DIY on that chest, that would be right up my alley. I use to sand down my mothers old patio wood furniture and restain when i was a teenager. Plus i did their deck when i was older. Love that stuff!

I find myself not using stuff and putting it in basement where it stays and takes up too much room. I have decluttered so many times but still have to get rid of more. You must have so much fun at the cabin. I need a vacation, lol. Love your hair. Enjoy the day.
I know the room at the cabin that has the twin beds is probably smaller than the room with the full bed, but visually with the windows it may look better to swap the beds for those two rooms. The twin bunk beds would not cover the window when put in the corner and the full bed could center under the window with a small space on both sides possibly large enough for a 6 to eight inch side table on both sides. That way the windows aren’t covered. Just an idea. I’m on vacation at the moment at an air bnb and the bedroom we are In Has the bed located under the window with very small tables on both sides. We have slept amazing because it feels so cozy. 🙂

The hair looks fabulous! That Lane hope chest is a nice one. Even though the styles can give away their decade, they hold value as well as memories. I think you could hear me through the screen, begging you not to remove the Lane labels. Clothing will be safe from bugs in there, so it's a great place to store the cabin blankets/bed linens. A professional woodworker can fix up the outside of it, if you want. BWHAHAHA the pop up!!! The same thing has happened to me and all you can do is laugh. Is there anyway that each regular cabin user has their own labeled bin? That way clothes wouldn't get all jumbled and it would remind each person that, "oh, that's our bag of clothes I need to take back/wash/sort." I adore over the door organizers. I wonder if you could tie a label to each section using the net part of the sections to tie it on. I remember the quote, "Rubbermaid is the crack of the disorganized person." I have to tell myself that whenever I oooo and ahhhh over storage items. My brain tells me they will fix all my problems and I have to remember that that is a lie. They just hide things, they don't make them go away. I'm glad you're going to take a crack at the toy chest. It'll be interesting to see what striping, sanding, and staining does for it. Promise me you won't paint/mess around with the Lane. My heart can't take that.

Yes, I've been leaning on my local library more and more, not only for cost savings but for less to keep up with. I absolutely love books and would love to have a home library one day, but right now that's not feasible. I would consider for the over the door organizer in the bathroom, to put felt pads where the metal rests against the nice wood door. Including the metal piece that goes over the top of the door, place felt pads underneath that against the wood. All of that so you don't ruin the door with gouges and scratches etc. Additionally, I don't think chapstick should be a shared item? Even for kids.
Yes Amanda! That was driving me nuts! Love her channel, shes so dang motivating!!! I had seen her wear knee pads before and Ive gotten comments to wear them as well! Apparently there wonderful! Those ones are in rough shape (we decluttered them lol) but im thinking about getting a pair!
Question about the toilet paper location: does the bathroom get really steamy when the shower is used? You might want to not keep the toilet paper where it will get damp....
To free up more space in the over the door bathroom storage: You can get a slim free standing toilet paper storage stand to tuck in beside the toilet. The ones I use store 6 rolls. 😊🐦❤
Till the day I die. Exactly! I remember when I first became a mom and I was overwhelmed by a few bins of toys. Fast forward 28 years and 2 additional kids. I had no idea what was coming. 28 years of trying to store, cleaning up, organizing, decluttering. Still at it! 😊🐦

There’s my girl friend! The chest of games is a cedar chest, sense the smell! Love your hair, by the way! Had a garage sale for one day and made $280. Not bad! It’s been too hot this summer so we couldn’t stay outside to do the rest of it. My daughter was helping me and she lives almost an hour away. So now we have to pack up the garage and load the car up to donate the rest of it. I am done with garage sales!!! I am still decluttering the house. Cleaned out more dishes from the kitchen. Have you thought about making an inventory binder?
Create a store and shop it before you shop elsewhere. Go through every few months and say to yourself .. Self😂if it’s not been used in a year…. Someone else can benefit from it. ?! If it’s taking up space and not beneficial it’s costing you time and money!!❤❤❤❤hugs

Do the DIY on that chest, that would be right up my alley. I use to sand down my mothers old patio wood furniture and restain when i was a teenager. Plus i did their deck when i was older. Love that stuff!
Meee too. I find it to be so fun doing DIYs esp. Up cycling furniture. It's seeing something going from old to new that is so satisfying lol. I find myself not using stuff and putting it in basement where it stays and takes up too much room. I have decluttered so many times but still have to get rid of more. You must have so much fun at the cabin. I need a vacation, lol. Love your hair. Enjoy the day.
I know the room at the cabin that has the twin beds is probably smaller than the room with the full bed, but visually with the windows it may look better to swap the beds for those two rooms. The twin bunk beds would not cover the window when put in the corner and the full bed could center under the window with a small space on both sides possibly large enough for a 6 to eight inch side table on both sides. That way the windows aren’t covered. Just an idea. I’m on vacation at the moment at an air bnb and the bedroom we are In Has the bed located under the window with very small tables on both sides. We have slept amazing because it feels so cozy. 🙂

The hair looks fabulous! That Lane hope chest is a nice one. Even though the styles can give away their decade, they hold value as well as memories. I think you could hear me through the screen, begging you not to remove the Lane labels. Clothing will be safe from bugs in there, so it's a great place to store the cabin blankets/bed linens. A professional woodworker can fix up the outside of it, if you want.

Is there anyway that each regular cabin user has their own labeled bin? That way clothes wouldn't get all jumbled and it would remind each person that, "oh, that's our bag of clothes I need to take back/wash/sort."
I adore over the door organizers. I wonder if you could tie a label to each section using the net part of the sections to tie it on. I remember the quote, "Rubbermaid is the crack of the disorganized person." I have to tell myself that whenever I oooo and ahhhh over storage items. My brain tells me they will fix all my problems and I have to remember that that is a lie. They just hide things, they don't make them go away.
I'm glad you're going to take a crack at the toy chest. It'll be interesting to see what striping, sanding, and staining does for it. Promise me you won't paint/mess around with the Lane. My heart can't take that.

Yes, I've been leaning on my local library more and more, not only for cost savings but for less to keep up with. I absolutely love books and would love to have a home library one day, but right now that's not feasible. I would consider for the over the door organizer in the bathroom, to put felt pads where the metal rests against the nice wood door. Including the metal piece that goes over the top of the door, place felt pads underneath that against the wood. All of that so you don't ruin the door with gouges and scratches etc. Additionally, I don't think chapstick should be a shared item? Even for kids.

Yes Amanda! That was driving me nuts! Love her channel, shes so dang motivating!!! I had seen her wear knee pads before and Ive gotten comments to wear them as well! Apparently there wonderful! Those ones are in rough shape (we decluttered them lol) but im thinking about getting a pair!

To free up more space in the over the door bathroom storage: You can get a slim free standing toilet paper storage stand to tuck in beside the toilet. The ones I use store 6 rolls. 😊🐦❤

What you referring to moving stuff around from place to place is called Churning and something more common with hoarding.

Treated wood just means it’s treated at the saw mill so it can be used outside. It is not harmful.
