Hahah I wasn’t thinking that but pushback is actually an even better word! That’s definitely how my Mom treats me when we declutter her books haha in the end she is always happy to lighten her book collection 😊 Thanks for watching and your comment! ❤️
Your videos are really great. I particularly enjoyed this one and picked up lots of ideas for minimising furniture and clutter in our home. We are retired and looking at downsizing from a very large home to a small apartment so these tips were particularly relevant. You have a great mindset when it comes to not needing to have just incase or the perfect items for every situation. I'm working on this, and also on finding items that are multi-use which allow me to have less things in total.
Books! OMG! My hobby is quilting so I used to buy a book for each new project! That will be a big “let go of it” thing. I’m already happy with what I’ve done! Thank you!
Just got a recommendation to watch your channel. I subscribed 🙋♀️ now I'm binge watching your videos. I've been minimalist for years, love your content
Ooo I noticed you don’t use a mattress protector? I find it keeps the coldness from coming from the mattress as well as it keeps my mattress clean and odour free. I only have one that I wash seasonally.
This took me 4 years so it might not happen over night haha the biggest thing is a mindset change, when I was finally able to stop replacing everything and walk out of target with only what I needed things started to really change hahah
This was one of your most helpful videos❤❤❤ You have such a natural way of explaining things that make it so simple to understand and make me feel like I can do this😊
I took my back ups and what ifs and looked to see how I can use them and incorporate it into what I need and use now. And let the rest go. No more boxes in storage for those items! I too only have furniture that I have a use for. I no longer buy knick knacks. I do the same in the bathroom, I just have what I need and use in there. I have stopped changing things out for seasonal. I just stay with a neutral color basic theme that match and blend with everything. I no longer have to do that work for the seasonal change. So freeing! I use food in baking and cooking to bring in the season. Much more enjoyable.
Hi Becky-my progress is slow but enough to be noticeable, which I love! The large bench I got out of my bedroom yesterday is my biggest item so far! ❤ Thank you friend, Becky
I’m trying to become a minimalist. I have a shopping addiction that I’m in therapy for. I don’t buy big purchases, I impulse buy stupid stuff like if I need shampoo, I buy the matching conditioner and everything else for that line because I have ocd & adhd. I’m tons of fun! J/k I’m getting better. I have downsized a lot. We moved from a 2300sq ft home to a 1600sq ft home and we fit just fine. I did donate 20 garbage bags full of clothes that were either rarely worn or still had tags. I now have a capsule wardrobe that I am content with. I still have some work to do on minimizing my stuff but anything I find that I have double or don’t use/need, it goes in the donation bin and I don’t allow myself to look back in it because I would 2nd guess myself. I just recently found your channel and I’m bing watching for motivation! P.S. I’m actually a 39 yr old wife/mom. My daughter gets on my channel and changes my profile. lol thank you for the inspiration! Keep it coming!😊
I think you probably get backlash on books because for avid readers it’s not. I read books multiple times. And as I grow I see new things, and see the same story with a more mature perspective. I now have my books on kindle.
Love the kindle idea and I just keep my few favs I do go back to for sure! Totally agree with that :) one of my favorites is The Book of Joy by Desmond Tutu and the Dalai Lama what’s your favorite to go back to?
We do kindle and paper books. Our house has built-in bookshelves so technically is it even clutter. I don't know. We don't own a TV, never have, and we're both huge readers. Would you leave built-in bookshelves empty? They're everywhere - our living room, downstairs hallway, the parlor [these old Vics don't have "family rooms," they have "parlors" off the LR with pocket doors, which we leave open all the time. We've decluttered tons of books already.
Any book that was worth reading, should definitely be read over and over. You can't possibly get everything out of it in one reading. And there are books that maybe you don't need to read now, but someday you will pull it out and it'll need just the thing. And to we readers, being surrounded by books is the most soothing feeling. ❤ I have over 700 books and am not done curating my library. I do declutter stupid books that we don't like, or someone gave us and it's just vapid, poorly written stuff. We only keep great books. I have a Kindle, which I use to read some books that I can't afford a real copy of yet, but I hate reading on screens. I'm so happy to have been given a complete collection of Jane Austen for Christmas!
I LOVE your appartement: it's very inspiring. I think it could be better with just a bit of colour (i.e. blu pillows or a big green plant). Look how beautiful you are with the blu shirt in the room! But it is personal taste and some people prefer total white or white plus natural colours.
I enjoyed this video very much! Everyone's saying "backlash", but what I thought of when you asked, was "pushback". 😊
Hahah I wasn’t thinking that but pushback is actually an even better word! That’s definitely how my Mom treats me when we declutter her books haha in the end she is always happy to lighten her book collection 😊 Thanks for watching and your comment! ❤️
Or flack.
I think I heard you say “enough-ism”, and I like that word! Perfect for what I want to have in my house. Just enough.
Thanks for watching Mary! I am making a video right now on "enough-ism" haha It should be coming out tomorrow hope you like it :)
Just wanted to say this video was the best ever! Great tips and I totally enjoyed it!
Wow! Thank you so much

Backlash lol! Great video.
Hahah Thanks! I hate when that happens 🤣
Thank you for showing us how we don’t have to have a lot of furniture. I’ve been struggling with that.
Same! I struggled with furniture for a long time. My strategy now is if it's not easy to clean or move do I really need it? Thanks for your comment :)
Good ideas! Ty! 💕 Happy weekend!
Thank you! You too :)
I just got motivated to get rid of a few furniture 😍 thank you so much !!!🩷🩷🩷🩷
That's awesome! Having less furniture in my house has made it feel so much more spacious! Good Luck Friend :)
@@minimalease Thanks friend! :)
Wow!! I love your appartement!! It really is perfect! I am in my way to minimalism bc of my hoarder-tendencies! You are really an inspiration ❤❤
Thanks so much!! It took me a while so you will get there 😊 good luck on your journey!
Great vídeo!❤
Thanks so much ❤️
So funny , you mentioned the movies stepbrothers 😂. Very funny and very inappropriate movie.
Haha it is a funny and silly movie

Thanks for watching! ❤️
Those travel size sample products are so wasteful. Like ending up in the Pacific Garbage Patch wasteful. I refill my own containers.
agree, I do that too when I can and I use up what I have been given
I hate bathroom decor, just buy nice items that are for use and you won’t have to decorate.
Back lash
Thanks 😊
You got a bad bunion there.
😁hahaa
I’m new to you & really enjoying your advice. Where did you purchase your bedside wall cabinets please? & thank you from Mangawhai Nz ✨🩵✨
My husband made them out of 1 by 8’s I believe ❤️
