Nice Video Craig long time no see good to see you back watching the old steamer actually lowered my blood pressure.
Great video ! I was there that day chasing along as well. Sure wish this could happen again in Vermont. Still missing Steamtown.
good job...coaches looked great too, awesome scenery
BEAUTIFUL whistle!!!
Her original whistle is beautiful, but her new whistle ruins her today!
Awesome video Craig
I wish the engine was painted as a Rutland railroad locomotive
I have a photo of 2 year old me next to #142 in Chester...Too bad i don't remember any of it.
God she had one hell of a bad clank....
SteamAndSmoke97 I’m guessing it’s since been rectified.
made in China. Say no more.
This was almost in my backyard, how did I miss it?
nice keep this stuff coming!
Another day with no rail fans. This looks like the 1930s. Nobody around to see steam? 😮. Maybe too Chinese for them. Mind blower.
How come people say that star brass 5 chimes are related to the Chinese 5 chimes?
very nice!
Southern Pacific Desert/Star Brass 5 Chime or New Zealand 5 Chime
It’s her original Chinese 5 chime.
Weird to think this loco was less than a decade old. It was built in China in 1989, but looks just like something out of the 1920s.
J. David Conrad is the engineer.
My uncle is good friends with him. They worked on valley 40 at one point. Or maybe it was 97
Another Chinese steam locomotive in the United States. Yes NYSW #142 is Chinese built.
I wonder what ever happened to this whistle
SamYouPlays I think the New York, Susquehanna & Western Technical & Historical Society still has it. Then again, I could be wrong.
Wish steam will return to the GMRR someday.
Brian Falzon Patience, my friend. Patience.
Reminds me of Steamtown in NE and the grand opening from 95
