It's 1600hrs and its already dark?! In my country its still very bright with very hot sun at that time coz we're on the equator.

250 km takes 9 hours in Norway? Guess there is no highway than. Are you using studded tyres btw?
we can do 600-700 km on 9 hrs but much depends on ferries and other things
