The fish and chips looked great 👍 Worth noting is that at both this place and Ramsey's place where Lee has scored 10/10 Lee has paid upwards of £25+ but most traditional F&C shops have charge half that price. Has buying F&C's become a case of you get what you pay for ?
I’ve always said with food you get what you pay for . Personally I would rather pay the extra and eat well and not be disappointed with the Quality and quantity

Ah Leyburn’s finest. 30 years after leaving nearby Crakehall for France, the beauty of Wensleydale in the summer is breathtaking👍. That food looked exceptional.
That looked fantastic!! 30yrs ago I would have eaten that no problem, alas my appetite is not what it was at 70 so no chance now! I have fish & chips & mushy peas also gravy for the chips but it has to be the right gravy not onion or fruity! My local does fruity! Alot more than 10/10!

So you can go to a luxury hotel, get a meal twice the size of Whitbys steamrollered scraps (that's what we call them in Edinburgh) and only twice the price (which makes them about the same price) I know which one I would choose.I couldn't see anything to fault it.10/10
Hi Lee, just spent 3 night at the Wensleydale heifer staying in the “ night at the movies room” on their staycation deal. I’ve got to say the best Sunday roast I’ve ever had!, fish & chips fantastic, rump of lamb dinner, great. Fantastic breakfast & great people looking after your every need with a smile. Very glad I watched this video as it made us go to the hotel that we have never heard of before. An absolutely fabulous place that everyone should stay & eat at least once in their lives!!!!!! Thanks for the recommendation, we will go for another staycation there at sometime🤞👍

@@steelcitydomains2356 glad it helped you. They do a 3 night package which saves you some money but it’s not cheap, we thought it was worth it as it’s a special place. We arrived Sunday lunchtime for the roast (a must have) & left Wednesday morning after breakfast, they even made us a fantastic packed lunch to take away so we did not need to have service’s rubbish food on our 5 hour journey home👍
The chocolate room for me I think lol. I love chips n gravy, the fish n chips look fantastic not sure about the peas they look a bit bright but Its not fair to judge them by Camara 10/10 I think.

I've not long come back from Whitby for a week holiday. It's was fantastic. Never went to the Fisherman's wife, we went to Magpies, pie and mash restaurant, tried the famous kippers, I wish I knew about this place. Food looks incredible. I also watch BeardMeetsFood. I shall definitely visit this place. Looks 10/10

having been born and bred close to grimsby i have been spoiled with quality haddock. the fish, chips and peas looked ace, that was certainly a meaty piece of haddock , bet it was sweet as a nut! when i eat the fantastic fish we get here i poke the batter open with a couple of wooden chip forks before i put salt and vinegar on. there is absolutely no way i would have curry sauce or gravy! the best way to eat fish and chips is with your fingers, on the beach x
Love a few scraps mixed in and am lucky to get them free locally as I know some chippy's charge for them now. Big shout out to a proper English chippy in Tyldesley, Manchester 'The Little Chippy' that still do fish n chips as they used to be and are generous with their scraps.

Having visited the Heifer on a number of occasions I've never had the confidence to try "the Giant". I have had the large & that was a struggle. I cannot recommend the hotel more highly, all the food including the breakfast are first class.
Some great chippies in Whitby, just need to steer clear of the 'famous' tourist ones, wherever I go I always ask the locals where they go, can't go wrong...

Yes Lee it's a definite Ten from me, and don't give Tens much at all! The white fish looked out of this world, and the chips although needed a bit browner from me, still good!!!! I'm from the South in Cambridge and I like fish and chips with gravy but usually go curry sauce, that looked good, didn't look ridiculous big looked manageable, nice one.
Fish looked great as did the sides of curry sauce and peas. Personally thought the chips we too thin and also weren't triple cooked. 10 for the fish. 8.9 overall as it was mega expensive for the giant
PLEASE leave out the curry sauce and gravy. The Haddock is a superb fish all on its" own. don't muck about with good food. A great video and a lovely place.
Stayed at the Wensleydale Heifer in 1991 (10th wedding anniversary). Had a fantastic time and the food was brilliant. Didn't look anything like it does these days though!
My first thoughts after watching the video was That was the rolls Royce of fish n chips 🍟 😋 It looked absolutely fantastic 👏 with that being said it's not something that everyone could afford at £26 pounds a lot people might think twice about ordering it. Yes one can order a smaller portion but would one go there as a family of four ? 🤔 I'm giving it 8/10 As always a great video .thanks 📹 👍 👏 👌
Funnily enough an ex colleague of mine, who hails from Barnsley, introduced me to the wonders of Chips and Gravy, not sure if I’d try it on fish but this video has made me tempted. He also shares our name so he was Northern Lee and I was Southern Lee as our other colleagues use to differentiate. Location looked amazing and honestly the food looked like some of the best you’ve ever shown on the channel, I only just finished dinner after coming home but, that fish just made me hungry (and I’m on a diet 😂) Just by the looks, I’d happily give that a 10 my friend and I don’t think it’ll be topped.
OH me, that looked so good. Know what you mean about a flat fish. Too many are looking like that now. I cant find a good F & C in Ireland. Had not a bad one in Mallorca tbh. That was amazing. What a beautiful place. Wish I lived close by.

OH me, that looked so good. Know what you mean about a flat fish. Too many are looking like that now. I cant find a good F & C in Ireland. Had not a bad one in Mallorca tbh. That was amazing. What a beautiful place. Wish I lived close by.
