I just bought a 2006 950. I’ve never rode adventure bikes before, but I am super stoked to start out on a 950. Thanks for all of your great videos.

I have a 990 Dakar. I’ve been doing ADV for quite some time and I’ve test ridden almost all the modern offerings.
THIS IS THE KING. LONG LIVE THE 950/990.

@@brandenhellman4381 I don't disagree with you my friend 950 is my favourite but I am simply looking at it from another angle. T7 is just newer, more reliable, economical and easier to ride. Saying that my heart is with 950 is simply amazing when is going well and I am sorry to say but I am not a fan of 990 because of fuel injection. However 9x0 is an iconic bike that's for sure.

@@HeavyEnduroAdventures I completely respect you and I completely respect your decision!
I have one of your HE clutch cases from Hard Enduro - Triple Clamp and I have religiously followed you.
You are definitely a 950 expert and if you choose to pick any bike, I would always be interested in knowing why and confidently that it’sa good choice.
I think the T7 is a fabulous platform, but I wish that Aprilia had a better dealer network.

@@brandenhellman4381 I do like the Aprilia Tuareg and as a stock bike is better than T7. I got friends owning them and I am watching very carefully how they are going to be on reliability front in couple of years.

good bike, get a fat plate for the kickstand (sw motec), a foam oiled precleaner (unifilter), a lower rear chain guide (acerbis)and put some type of pannier racks to give the exhaust some protection as the top bracket bends in a fall, as well on the back a mini rack (b&b), keep it light over the back , you can get aluminium crash bars for it to help lighten it up (adventurespec) maybe a waterpump guard. looking forward to seeing what you do 😁

i also run a lithium battery with restart (antigravity 10) and bark busters and a radiator guard. i been thinking about the raised front fender from Camel but haven't done it yet, Yamaha also make a factory one in the assorary packages , i also put an after market adjustable gear shifter and a brake pedal riser pad , a screen protector for the dashboard (speedo angles) .

liuthium battery decat and tune it she will have enough power then. the top heavey weight is only a problem going below 4 mph just ride it a bit faster. i did not like the ktm790r and 890r because they just do not turn in as good as the T7. when suspension is done the T7 wakes up .

I do like to ride some technical slow trails and then it becomes a bit of a pain however I can honestly say what we did to suspension completely changed the bike and saved me a number of times.

i found mine to be tall and elusive at the front end when i first got it. over 2 years later its been everywhere and gone everywhere. it steers on the pegs really nice, and the mitas e13 front tyre is a great one for this bike in my opinion. look forward to seeing what you think.

Install a full exhaust, Twin Air filter and an ECU remap and the T7 will deliver some extra power, especially a more consistent and stronger torque curve.

Yeah I had to see how you felt because i just got a T7 and my 1290 SA-R is just sitting there looking at me as I consistently ride off on the T7. I’m worried I may sell the KTM😆. It is really fun but I like more challenging off road riding In which the T7 is a better option. I do miss the power though.
