For drummers this album is no contest their best to react to. Lars was full god mode during this era

I like how he uses the double pedal in this album.

My editing software didn't render dyers eve but the reaction is on the channel
These are my favorite JH vocals ever.
Now hoping that ride the lightning is next
Megadeth Peace sells But Who's Buying is next but possibly in the future
Ride the lightning first bro, then Killing is my business, then peace sells
@@JourneyTheBadDrummer where is dyers eve in this video?
@@sander5089 So my editing software decided not to render the dyers eve part thats my bad god I need a new editing software, I really do apologize
@@sander5089 But the dyers eve reaction is on my channel
It never hit me until watching this video how literally amazing james is at writing lyrics
He should do a masterclass on lyric writing
Lars still had his adult drum kit on this album
That's funny 😅
🤣🤣🤣 Pre- garbage can era Lars LOL
your great reaction outweigh the bad camera or other technical problems
facts ... the video quality and non-ideal location and technical glitches mean shit when you are able to absorb and pick apart these albums. Love from an old metalhead in Ohio
55:01. You'd turn down the volume knob on your guitar, hit the chord then turn up the volume knob.
This was the first metallica album I bought the day it came out - it was a whole thing that you set your day aside for lol 🍻
Kill Em All to Black Album have a banger intro to them.
The snare dumb echo at the intro of Frayed Ends of Sanity...it sounds like hes hitting the China cymbal at the same time
“The China cymbal” you mean the gong
Would love to see you do a Pantera album, preferably Vulgar Display of Power! You love groovy drums and thrashy chuggy riffs then that’s the peak of what you’re after dude
I'm not a drummer but this along with Slayer's seasons in the Abyss are two albums that really forced me to sit up and take notice of how awesome the drums sound. Always been curious what an actual drummer thinks of it.
*angry bass sounds*
You can do it your own way
If it’s done just how I say
Freedom in nutshell
Really enjoyed your reactions. Pause as much as you want. Try King Diamond Abigail album incredible drums or Judas Priest Painkiller
Love the intro to Blackened, it's actually played backwards. Sounds a lot less exciting when you hear it forwards.
I think they do that with some of the drum beats as well, where you hear the echoes first.
Slayer reign in blood would be another good classic album from the 80's to check out
No seasons in the abyss is a far better album.
@@tylerarnettay4144 Not for Slayer lmao, that's like Slayer's black album.
Zelda vibes... it just hit me, the "clean filthy" tone James carries on AJFA is near enough to an 8 bit modified square wave that a solid note gets Nintendo-ey.
"I dont remember Lars using the chyna that much"
Buddy, are you in for a treat :)
frayed ends of sanity is sick.
Ride The Lightning timeeee!!!🔥
All 4 of the first Metallica albums are gold, but Justice takes the cake. It's the darkest Metallica album there is, it's the angriest, and it's the epitome of the bands songwriting ability. Even though the band doesn't like how complex the album is, and how long the songs are, the Justice album is a great example of how to write complex music without it being complex for the sake of showing off. The complexity of this album is only used to serve the songs in the best way possible. I have played guitar for 20 years now, and I speak from experience when I say that it can be very difficult to write long 6 or 7 minute songs that don't have any filler, and don't bore the listener a little bit in certain sections. In their early career, Metallica used the riff salad style of writing, and it worked the best for them in my opinion. What they did best was that they were willing to sacrifice certain riffs, and sections of the songs that didn't fit perfectly with the songs. Every riff, every solo, every detail of this album makes complete sense, and it's all killer, no filler. The same could be said for all of the early Metallica albums, but especially And Justice For All.
Something about the kick and guitars....they sound so good
Maybe do a cover of blackened?
Where is dyers eve? The heaviest song of the album
Check out Metallica's live show from 89. All of their best 80's tracks in one show!
Rally went all out with the presentation lol
Fuck je: you haven’t even tried
People that love to hate on Lars because they cannot come to terms how much they suck compared to Lars, even though they think they are personally better than him at playing drums. Also, music is art and people argue about it like it's science. Like you said, Lars "plays simple" but that's not necessarily bad or good; just his creative choice on his song. In his mind he took it far enough on Justice and afterwards he made a conscious choice to play more stripped down kits and parts. Haters probably think Charlie Watts, Ringo Star and Phil Rudd suck too. But haters will never post their own music up here so we can shit on it.
A drummer reaction channel and not one video from Gojira or Meshuggah?
They not guitars....they machine guns
Lars is playing 16th's not 8th's on the double bass. 😉
React to the full album of Slayer Reign in blood.
Megadeth Peace Sells... But Who's Buying? Album
Lars was good back then, people don't remember or don't care? Not sure. He did go WAY downhill, though. He didn't keep his chops up.
He did keep up again now.
But don't forget that the aftermath of the Black album tour after Reload and stuff caused him a lot of injuries and problems
👏👏👏👏👏👏
👍❤️🤘
try some opeth stuff
Best album then master puppets
Seattle 89
Great album but way overproduced ,all u hear is guitar and drums hard to hear bass aside from a few peaks. Still one of the best albums damn they can shred
I'm pretty sure the reason why you don't hear the bass as much is because the guitar tone already has a lot of bass to it. But again, remasters already have the bass boosted and it sounds better so I have no idea. But Justice for Jason \m/
I think lars gets so much hate cuz every other member of his band is so great at what they do so they make a mediocre drummer look worse by comparison. I dono i dont think hes that awful
Album? That's so great that you use that word!
Hø
Good about you:you focus on the musicianship
Bad: barely listen to the lyrics 😪
Lar
Megadeth>Metallica
I don't like Megadeth
Hell no.
Then why r u here?
both \m/
METALLICA > megadeth
Metallica were just about done by '86 - they were dead by '91!
Yer a complete idiot
Wow that's a hot take! What are gonna tell us next? They sold out when they wrote Fade to Black or shot a video for One? Or maybe that Lars sucks? Or maybe you didn't like they stood up to Napster? Fuck me, get some fresh takes dude
