Excellent video. I agree with all items discussed!! Our ancestors had extremely long hair and they didn’t purchase hair care scams. You’re such an intelligent young teacher. ❤
Love this. I’ve cut down my process from 7 products to 3. Shampoo. Condition. Hair gel or pudding. I wash my hair once a week. I do not refresh everyday, instead I embrace my frizz. Done! I couldn’t be happier. Good job on this video! ❤
You brought up some interesting points regarding natural hair care. I agree with you when you say that hair growth is a continuous process and isn't significantly influenced by protective styles or braids alone - consistency in basic hair care seems to be a major factor in retaining length. Also, I'm glad you touched on the topic of being a 'product junkie.' It’s so easy to fall into the trap of thinking a new product will be a miracle solution, so thanks for reminding us that better care yields better results. However, I disagree on the point about not needing deep conditioning for hair growth. I think deep conditioning regularly can really help with reducing breakage and thus help in retaining length, indirectly aiding hair growth. Nevertheless, everyone's hair journey is unique, and it's great hearing your perspective! 👍🏾
Thank you for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed. Yes, after posting I realized even though deep conditioning is for moisture replenishment, it does indirectly correlate to hair growth by saving strands from becoming dry and brittle and therefore breaking off. So I also agree with your disagreement lol 😭 Thanks for your feed back as well 🫶🏾
The process >products change my whole hair game.I put a rule for myself, even if a product seem like is not working I try to use it until finishing before using a different one, except if it cause some damage to my hair. I realize that products I didn't like the first few time ended up been on of my favorites after learning how to uses then properly for my hair. Try different methods, the instructions don't work on everyone. And my hair flourished on consistency so my hair routine got crazy simple. Washday when from 6hrs to 2hrs including styling and drying.😊😊😊😊
Hey! I agree with all of your points except with the deep conditioning. For me, I literally saw a huge difference with hair growth and more moisture retaining (as you said in the video) when I started doing it for 4-5 months as I switched up my hair wash routine. But I guess everyone's hair experiences are different! Great video ❤
No tbh I actually agree with your disagreement lol b/c after posting I was like .. we’ll dry brittle hair breaks easily so I guess indirectly deep conditioning does help “grow” your hair by helping you “retain” that length haha 😭 but yes, so thank you for your feed back as well !
I'm mad late lol but I love ur personality & I totally agreed w this list..to sum it up just keep it simple lol its hair it's growing (it's literally dead when it grows out our scalp but yea) & do you 🤷🏾♀️
Great tips. I found for my hair rest and hydration works for mine. I mostly wear 2 braids one on each side that's it and hydrate my hair nearly daily until it's shampooed. I cover my hair with a satin/silk lined cap from Amazon and I just leave it alone. It had grown passed my shoulders during Covid, but I failed to learn how to detangle properly and I broke off the front. Now I detangle with olive oil and my hair on the front is catching up with the back length. The back is passed the bra length. But, I'm not worried and I'm at peace. This is just how things are working for me.
Wow ! That’s a great routine you have ! Yeah leaving it alone works best for everyone tbh but nobody ready to hear that message yet 😭 you keep going & thanks for sharing ! 🩶
Lol at the title because I agree with everything besides the deep conditioning. Buuuuut, you already addressed that with previous comments. Your points make a lot of sense. Also, I love your spirit and you’re absolutely beautiful. Keep doing your thing!!
So glad you enjoyed ! 😇 & yeah the teacher became the student in them comments sections concerning the deep conditioning lol. My heart is happy you like my spirit 🥹🫶🏾 thank you sm for all the love !
I stopped washing my hair weekly years ago. That's just too much product to waste. I guess extra steps depends on the person and their preference. I Shampoo, deep conditioning, moisturizing, blow drying in one day which takes under 3 to 4 hours. Then, one week later, I put my hair in a protective style and leave it in for 2 to 3 weeks.
Mine used to take me ALL day following some hair gurus. Remember the Cherry Lola trend?? That was well nigh a 2-day process, depending on whose guide you followed. Never again. Ain't nobody got time for that! Slapped on onion juce, eggs, yoghurt and honey mix before going to bed last night. Shampooed with Olaplex and conditioner today; moisturised and I'm done because I didn't even undo my braids for the whole I'm only trimming straggly pieces, so retaining length.Winning!!!🎉
Haha it really would take us ALL Day following the hair gurus 😭 & oh what an interesting mix. Is that a protein treatment? & Yes, only snip when needed! Cheers to retaining length 🥂

2. Exactly I used to see tips like "wash your hair every 4 days" but first of all we don't even be having the amount of sebum to do so. I used to wash once a week cos of dandruff but ever since I started dropping peppermint oil in my shampoo and greasing my scalp I can last up to 2 weeks 3 and 4. My dad's wife used to threaten me as a kid that if I didn't want her to braid my hair she would shave it all off but I only hated braids cause she's an aggressive braider and hurt me to the point that I would cry. Once I gained freedom on my own head in 8th grade I started wearing puffs, buns and twists and my hair grew way more 7. I mean you can simply massage your scalp without being upside down it moisturizes and increases blood flow as you said, it's worked for me especially since I heat it a little. And rice water moisturizes, nourishes and strengthens so it actually doesn't "grow" your hair but it makes it stronger which helps against breakage 9. Factsssss plus ain't nobody got time for that😭 13. I literally use like 4 things on my head altogether 15. It only takes me 40 minutes yet my dad wife gets so mad that I spend "too much time" in the bathroom washing my hair😒 Anyways nice video😊
The "we don't be having the amount of sebum to do so" is SO ACCURATE 🤣 Ohhh I'mm try putting peppermint oil in my shampoo too now 👀 k thanks I'm so sorry that was your experience 😧yeah once you learn to do your own hair most times you see growth results cause other people do not care 😒 and will handle you any which way ... 7. Aw I see okay so like the same concept as deep conditioner where rice water doesn't directly grow it but helps with moisturizing which in turn indirectly helps it "grow" by it not breaking off as easily. Got it 👍🏾 Period 😭 I LOVE THAT FOR YOU ! 🫵🏾💕 Dang you way better than me 😂 teach me your ways sis! Thanks so much for watching, commenting, & supporting. It really means a lot to me 🥹 🫂 * gives hug *
@@amytarie. you're welcome💕💕💕 And for the wash day I keep my hair in big twists so that I can shampoo my entire scalp without tangles and without having to go part it, but apply my conditioner section by section meaning I untwists each section, apply the conditioner evenly, retwist then move on to the next). Hope this helps
I enjoyed your video. I'm with you on washing afro hair too much. I wash my hair every two weeks. Once a week could dry my hair out. I don't agree with not combing your hair regularly because I need to get the shedded hair out everyday if it's not braided up. Also to move the moister and lubrication around by hair. You are so right deep conditioning is to put back in what was taken out when you shampooed to get it clean. The trimming time makes so much sense. I can understand every 3 or 4 months but not monthly. Thanks again.
Thank you sm for watching! ☺ yes washing too often can be v drying on the curls. & hey I understand, do what works best for you 🙌🏾& yes, yes, yes! Thanks for your feed back as well, I really appreciate it!
My scalp really loves being washed every week, but I hear you on not necessarily having to shampoo the hair every week. I consider it more like the rest of my body. My skin gets dry and itchy, even applying lotion daily, if I go even 3 days without a shower, like when I'm sick and barely getting out of bed. Eventually I just have to take a shower, even if it's just to get back into bed. If my body skin can only go 3 days, can my scalp go 3, 4, even 5 times as long as that without a problem? I think that's how people have great hair and the next thing you know they start losing it due to all these different scalp conditions. It's fine, until it's not.
I used to feel the same about washing my hair weekly. My scalp would act a fool if I didn’t then I started using a detoxifying shampoo ( not clarifying) monthly and it was a game changer. No more weekly washes for me.
I have thick roots and am able to detangle my hair enough for styling every time without one. It can be done, but if you feel more comfortable using one it is your choice ofc. It's' not the worst thing in the world to use a comb. I have just found that I get less hair shed & breakage without one so I encourage others to try using their fingers instead as well. 🫶🏾 Thank you for your opinion and feedback. You are greatly appreciated :)
