Also DO NOT wet your hair in the shower before detangling after a protective style. Always detangle before hand
Girl this is the tip we love to avoid, I definitely do 🤣but it’s a true true tip🙏🏽👏🏽 thank you
A similar situation happened to Craving Curly Kinks. She used eco styler gel to make her twists look neater and when she went to wash it, her hair locked. Her hair was probably hip length at the time. I’m sticking to my oils and butters and will embrace a little frizz. 😅 Thanks for sharing!
Oh right, I remember that!
wow that's insane ! My hair has never acted that way with eco. Everyone's hair is so diff it's crazy smh. Yeah I'm not caring about a little frizz ANYMORE 😭 bring it on
Other people's hairs be locking, while mine keeps loosening up.😂😂😂
Love that for you lol 😂
Lessons learned 😂 your hair is so beautiful!
Right?! I neva do that again ! 😭 thank you sis 🩷
Sorry you had this expereince.
4:51 I've noticed this too when using water based detanglers. From what i know now, you can choose to add oil or use a hair lotion of your choice (eg pink lotion, ors lotion, creme of nature oil moisturiser). Yes, the first ingredient is water, but since they contain oils, it works. The best way to use the hair lotion is detangling every twist/braid as you go.
Alternatively, you can take the chance to do a hot oil treatment. The warmth and the oil itself will help a lot.
Ahh , what a blessing you are 🩵 thank you for this tip! I will try that nxt time
@@amytarie. no problem💜 I'm sure your hair will recover in no time at all🤗
@@ayo_hitman_bang_introduces I RECEIVE 🙌🏾 THANK YOU !
@amytarie. you're welcome😊💪🏾
Oh, a few additions:
1. Make sure you have a good clarifying shampoo for when you do try this. It'll help wash off the oily-ness and gel.
2. This oil/oil moisturiser lotion hack also works on build up if you've had a protective hairstyle in for quite some time.
@@ayo_hitman_bang_introduces Extra extra thank you ! 🥹🩵
Wow I’m crazy too. My issue was using jam in/on my Marley twists. My low porosity hair wants to loc so bad. I had to stop using it. Now I use a light gel/soufflé like you said. And keep my twists moisturized- everyday if I need to.
Girl yes smh I could not believe I made such a rookie mistake like that this far into the game 🤦🏾♀️
Hair always so pretty! 😍✨ love the mini twists!! We love an informative video
Thank you SiSi ! 🩷 We do love info content lol
My mini twists with no added hair are 3 weeks max, 4 weeks if i have the 2-3 hours to take them down section by section.
FELT ! 🫵🏾 but imma vlog me extending the life shelf see what yall think
sisss, omg! thanks for the warning lol. Loved the video though! 🫶🏾
Usually twists don't work for me because my hair is more prone to tangles then braids. It's like braids keep my hair kept in order or like frozen in a manageable state to where when I take out, it's always good!
Also, yea, I am sacrificing the slick look when it comes to setting my hair 😭 I use shine in jam after blowdrying and setting the hair, but try not to use too much.
Ugh I LOVE a good slick look 🙄❤🔥 Oh really ? Nice! Honestly , I love braids just as much as twists so I def will alternate. Thanks for watching !
I feel you!! I go back and forth. Sometimes slicked down other times, I don't. When I initially set the style, it's sleek though.
I like how the Spirit was moving in church! Hahaha. YESSSSSS! Thank you for the video
Right?! 🕊️ praise Him! Thanks for watching ☺️
I’m so sorry this happened! This happened to me twice in life. This recent time it was after I took out my box braids. I didn’t detangle and wow 🤯 the locks was real!
Girl yes ! It's INSANE 😭 Never again in my life lol
This happened to me when I left my twists in too long smh 🤦🏾♀️
See that’s what’s crazy is that never happens to me no matter how long they’re in .. I swear it was misusing the product & not properly taking it down smh but if yours does that after a while I’d check your products or care practices b/c it’s gotta be one of those. Every detail matters 😭
@@amytarie. I think I had used some let’s jam or something for the twist. Now o only use butters while twisting
@@quinmcmullen9437 Idk about your hair but mine is fine with Let's Jam b/c the hold isn't as hard. Tbh I think you're okay 🫶🏾
Lovely video. Thank you👍🏾
Thanks for watching ! 🤍
Sorry that happened Sis❤
Ugh me too 😔 oh well hair grows back ☺️ & it means more content for you guys lol
@@amytarie. That's a great way to look at it. 🙌🏽 Looking forward to it.
I have mini twists rn and I'm scared they're going to lock 😭
Honestly you should be fine if didn’t put hard edge control all down each strand & gently detangle when taking it down
I have cornrows right now the ends are locks
ouf ... are you going to try to sort through it , or cut it or leave it ?
My hair didnt loc...it matted. After a month of me being lazy. Chile detangling was a nightmare and im tenderheaded. I was in paaaaaiiin...
I put my hair in braids so quick. Never again
Ouf I’m so srry to hear that sis 😣 yeah there’s a fine line between leaving your hair alone to let it grow & neglecting it that it becomes matted / tangled / locd
Glad you were able to detangle it tho! 🩵
