    Dude, I usually comment with all kinds of goofy stuff, but on a serious note, I do not know why you don’t have more subscribers. Your videos are put together so well and the points you make during the videos are totally valid. I have a 2021 Grizzly XTR that my dad gave me and I absolutely love it. The ride quality is easily one of the best. A lot of comments are saying that Yamaha needs to start sporting the 800+ Vtwin engines, but I don’t think so. Their direct competitors would be the Suzuki Kingquad or the Honda Foremans. What Yamaha should do to modernize their segments is include phone chargers and wireless charging in the center cubbie, like the Can-Am, as well as design the center cubbie not to get too hot.
    Besides that, I love my Yamaha. Absolutely great machine.

    I feel like if Yamaha made the Grizzly into an 850 or 1000 V twin machine it would really give Can Am a run for the money quality wise. I’m sure it would be priced similarly but I would be more willing to spend it on a Yamaha than any other brand. Their quality is just so consistent and very hard to beat.

      I’m on my 3rd Can-Am atv. I am a die hard Can-Am fan but I would instantly switch to Yamaha if they offered a vtwin mud ready atv. We’ve all been saying this for years but the big 3 just don’t listen to their customers.

    • @DirtObseXXion
      @DirtObseXXion  Год назад +2

      @@destinhook3826 I honestly don't think Yamaha asses the market as big enough to invest the resources (as crappy as that sounds).. Both Polaris and CanAm maximize their investment with several models 850/1000 Mud Specific, S models, 2-ups and Renegades. I think Yamaha would have to compete in all of those markets for it to be economically feasible. Not to mention CFMOTO undercutting all of them in price. I'm sure they'd sell a ton in year one.. But typically they want to see high returns on long running models. The 850/1000cc market is surprisingly small compared to mid displacement sales.. I'm not saying I don't want to see it, I just think that's the business perspective. Also increasingly strict emissions regulations that have the potential to threaten long term viability of pretty much all powersports. but at the end of day, it's a lot of competition for a fairly small piece of the larger pie.. That sucks to say as an ATV enthusiast...

    I have a 22 SE and was just in the market for another 4x4 quad. Bought a 24 standard, couldn't beat the 10k otd price I got and having to replace the Zilla tires immediately made the choice even easier. I know they look awesome but being pelted by rocks all day long sucks. The weight and reliability of the Grizzly can't be matched, that's why I own 2 and not one and one of another brand. Plus the ride and handling is just awesome. 10 year belt, real 4x4 with locker, separate front and rear brakes. I know SxS's are the thing now, owned a few myself, but I haven't seen a hold over Grizzly even advertised here in the Pacific Northwest in years. For the same money I own a 650 and a 750 Brute Force, a matching pair of Yamaha dx225 three wheelers, and a a new storage shed. Just my personal choice on where the money from my second job goes. When it comes to tires, I just gave a customer a lesson on that this morning when he came in to replace two 14 inch tires before a long trip. Of course he asked about the price of a set of M1Evils vs a pair of replacements. Not even in the same ballpark, but I took an EVIL and a replacement and laid them on the floor and asked him to pick them up one at a time. The Carnivore came up quick and easy but the Evil, not so much. What a difference in weight, yes, and that's times 4! We get to see the results of the macho image overcoming belts, clutches and axles all the time. If a machine and it's components are overbuilt modify it, but otherwise enjoy your ride. Didn't mean to ramble on so long or take anything away from M1EVILS, but with a little research you could learn about M2EVILS and that price or weight might suit your needs. Over and out.

      Top pick ITP Terracross, budget pick Tusk Terraforms.. My rule of thumb is no heavier than 6ply rated, no taller than 26" and preferably directional tread patterns.. I don't like taller than 26 because you lose stability, I don't like fronts wider than 8-9" because you lose handling.. We've tried a lot yes, but there's certainly more we haven't tried which I gave you my measurement preferences... Bigger heavier tires will take more from the Kodiak than they provide in my opinion 👌

The all camo Grizz is nice but I don't like 14" Zillas for my hunting machine and I don't need top end. It is the reason I switched from a Grizz to the Can-Am HD7 Hunting model. Prices are getting out of hand, I got a 21 kodiak 700 for 7800 out the door, and by the time I had a little over 10k with mods into it i had full aluminum skids, 28 inch tires, grizzly clutch weights, and stiffer secondary spring, warn winch and barkers slip on with ehs tuner...even though it's a base model, the lever actuated 4×4 seems to never fail me and lack of diff lock just calls for a winch every now n then. Glad I bought it when I did. But the reliability of yamaha makes the new prices agreeable compared to the Polaris and can am prices with their reliability. I mean were gonna thrash on em anyway. Thanks! There's about a million options you can consider, but I'd recommend going with something no heavier than 6ply and no taller than 26".. We all really like the ITP terracross and they fit the bill perfectly.. Also you could keep the square set and go with 9" width.. That would save weight but still allow you to rotate them for longer tread life.. I personally think the more narrow the front tires, the better the handling, so I'd go 8 front and 10 rear... We put 25" tusks on ours but we they only came a 12" wheel so we had to get wheels too.. But, any 6ply 26 with a narrower front will significantly improve trail performance

      @jeffdeezy Год назад

      @@DirtObseXXion Thanks for the reply, your channel is excellent for doing so! I understand the 'intended market' is selling the '4wd goes anywhere' mantra to ignorant buyers, so that down the line they realize they need to 'upgrade' to a higher end model that has a locker, or shell out for aftermarket differential models or modifications. I'm not knocking 3WD as it can obviously get you out of places 2WD can't, especially with front brake finesse. However my argument is that this is a conscious choice by the manufacturer to sell you a product that doesn't fulfill it's obligation. These are off road vehicles, not on road trucks or SUV's. If basic 4wd models from the 80's and 90's can have front diff locks, there's no reason beyond greed that it can't be standardized as a selling point now. Doesn't have to be something fancy and electronic, Kawasaki had the simple 'yellow lever' on it's Brute Force models for 20+ years now.

    All Japanese brands are overpriced these days. They don't push any features, technology, or OEM quick attach systems. They are just reliable almost never changing ATV's.
    Can-Am and Polaris are always pushing new updates and tech. And nothing beats Polaris OEM storage.
    So with that said, the pricing is like a Honda sedan being priced at a charger SRT price point. It's offensive that any Japanese ATV is above $10k USD or cad.
    Not because they suck, but because they literally put almost nothing into R&D and new features like Polaris and Can-Am.
    I saw a 2023 KQ750 at the shop priced more than a Polaris 850. That's ridiculouse.
    Sure the big boys have higher maintenance costs, but so does a muscle car over a sedan.
    And for me, good storage and quick accessories are top of my list. I spent time if cash in my KQ750 trying to have a solution for hunting, trail riding, and acreage use. Steel racks suck for changing things up.

      I can understand some of that, especially when the same machine has been under 10k in the past.. At least with Japanese machines you know you can buy them, change the oil once in awhile, and ride em for 20+years.. I wouldn't make that argument against CanAm tho, they make killer stuff

    Yamaha should've taken advantage of the 25th year anniversary to launch an updated machine. Their complacency is insane with innovation is asinine. I think they are grossly over priced, even with inflation considering how old the platform is. Overall, outside of those issues, I think they are great ATV's, but at that price, I will likely look elsewhere.

    • @DirtObseXXion
      @DirtObseXXion  Год назад

      Gonna be hard to argue with some of that. I'll be honest, when I got the invite to the 25th ride I was kinda hoping that was a ruse to release something... No doubt that these are premium prices for the class, but I think they still do a lot things best in the market let alone the class.. I've given Yamaha a lot of attention on the channel but there's a few reasons for that, number one is that they actually promote their ATV line which is occurring less and less these days. I think the biggest downfalll of the Brute Force 750 was Kawasaki's negligence in marketing it at all. Number 2 is that Yamaha still provides reources to improve ATV (50" restricted) trails across the country. Other companies spend that money fighting lawsuits, paying for recalls, or lobbying to allow for bigger and more expensive machines. We're seeing that manifest in more and more restrictions. WV (the most off-road friendly state this side of the Mississippi) is now restricting the development of new trails in state parks, citing significant damage to natural areas.. I know that's not a direct rebuttal to the points you made, but that's why I support Yamaha.. They have an ethos of promoting and developing powersports that I can get behind (not to mention they still make sport quads)... For some of us (me anyway), that underlying philosophy is important, and I'll support a company who shares those values with my time, energy, and money.

      @toyota4x4legend Yeah I thought so too.. Im not sure why it looks like that but it's offset the same way the radiator fan is.. I was on Yamaha's presentation for this year's lineup and they didn't say anything about the fan.. We got the pictures after the presentation so I didn't know to bring it up... But I'm guessing it's some sort of picture anomaly.. All Yamaha said about it was that it got the XTR upgrades..

    So Yamaha will sell a grizzly with zillas on it but when they provide them for a ride event they change the zillas for a real tire. This tells me that Yamaha knows the zillas are garbage but don't mind pawning them off on their customers. I bought 2x 2023 XTRs this year and had to spend another $1k to swap the zillas for a tire that was appropriate for riding out west in the Rockies. I am getting ready to buy a couple more ATVs but having to buy new tires for a new ATV from Yamaha has me reconsidering this brand.

      I bought an XTR last year and swapped the tires out too. I asked Yamaha about it, they said a lot of folks like the Zillas.. I just wish either the SE or XTR came with a decent trail tire and without a square set up

      @@DirtObseXXion I imagine the zillas are good back east where there is a lot more mud. We get mud for about a month here in Utah when the snow melts. I think a middle of the road all terrain would be best right from the factory. Have you ever tried the zillas on a paved road? They are a tragedy waiting to happen. Over about 30 mph the machine is all over the place and requires a bit of concentration to keep it going straight.

      @devstuff7848 Yes, I'm not a fan at all.. We did a Grizzly review last year on an XTR we bought.. I said in that video that the Zillas detracted from everything I like about the Grizzly.. They decrease the handling, powersteering, and stability.. We swapped for 25" Tusk Terraforms, which were perfect.. There's no doubt it was a corporate decision, the Yamaha guys know they aren't a good trail tire which is why they swapped them in the media event this year. I believe the guys involved in the ATV marketing side of Yamaha would love to see a decent aftermarket trail tire as an option as well... But just like any other company, decisions come from the top down and only consult with spreadsheets and bottom lines. Surely some dudes would be mad if the Zillas weren't available too.. Unfortunately we're on the side impacted by the decision to go with the zillas

    How can Yamaha and Honda not see what the market wants. Why not spread the grizzly line up out to include a legal 2-up seat atv. If they keep going they way they are, there snowmobile section will be joined by their atv section.

    I'd rather have a 5-year-old Grizzley than any new Polaris on the market.

    They need to leave the 700 for the Kodiak and put a 850 or 1000 in the grizzly.

      Well the Grizzly still does a lot of things better than any other ATV.. The Rincon, yeah I agree.. It's like a 23year run completely unchanged and wasn't that good to begin with.. I'm all for any updates on any ATV!

    If they had electronic throttle to eliminate your thumb wear on long rides like the Can-Am's....they would be the perfect machine.

    • @DirtObseXXion
      @DirtObseXXion  Год назад +1

      I guess I'm just used to the throttle from my Raptor, but yeah the electronic throttle definitely has a lighter push.. Flying Brian put a Honda90 throttle on his Raptor which is much easier.. You could also probably just clip a ring off the throttle spring.. But I certainly see the point you're getting at 🤔

    Whats the most important department in the Yamaha divisions. Engineering? 50" wide UTV, 1000cc ATV, 2 up ATV? Nope its the graphic art department.
