Lot of story packed into 11 minutes of video, I like that.
As a German, I felt the "SCHNELL, FRÜHSTÜCK" part 😄
    Cheers.

Saving for mine right now, I’m so excited! I’ve been practicing on a cheap Chinese pit-bike to get used to the machinery.

@@Robertlikesstuff You’ll love it. Ive been riding for 18 years now, had about 30 different bikes and the Honda is still one of my favourites!

Absolutely awesome video :) similar approach to what I did when I wanted to have a go at Green Laning I bought a 300 Rally rather than a bigger GS at the time (now on an 1150 as I'm not green laning)
The 300 had quite a bit of legs on it which was good would sit at 65 n do 70 smoothly for a single with the counterbalance shaft an 6th gear. Although the rear shock was dreadful ended up buying a Rally Raid Level 1 rear shock that sorted that out and sorted the static seat height out which made it easier to get on.
Having had the 390ktm x2 mine an dads both rejected for refunds then the Himalayan riddled with issues again n rejected for a refund the Honda did what Hondas do no problems an was fun on the road which I didn't expect although in the end I sold it for another more road based adventure travel bike. I wish it had had split seats an a 19" wheelset noticed Rally Raid do that wheel set now drat lol.
I that bikes like the 250 and 300 Hondas are a great way to go. I was pointing at the TV to dad haha ran the Rally in round those roads. Personally I think the new 1300s are getting daft now 28k for a GS that then you need to dealer service with the tech on it final drives that you cant rebuild etc much prefer bikes around 7k an under an the more we vote with our funds the more bikes will get produced at that end of the market! Awesome video again thanks to both of you for sharing

Beautifully filmed as always and a great subject matter as well… I never understand why people feel they have to spend £20k + on a bike when there are fantastically capable bikes available for less than £5k… I also agree entirely that bikes such as the CRF300 are way more manageable and fun off road than a fully kitted GS etc, as ‘Itchy Boots’ has proved. I have always said that if I was heading off around the world I would go on a ‘Big Bertha’ but I now think that the Honda is a sensible alternative, both are simple to maintain reliable bikes that can basically be fixed anywhere in the world without needing to be plugged into a computer first!

    • @bigberthaontour
      @bigberthaontour  8 месяцев назад +1

Given the choice it’d be a big Bertha just for the long distance comfort, but the Honda would be fine too…working on it is a real pleasure too, such simple well made mechanics!

Beautiful video Owen, it makes me want to go for a ride!!! I loooove Charlie’s new moto and hero suit, great choices and a fantastic topic! I really like that Charlie mentioned that she can pick up the bike- that’s always a huge confidence booster for me, the bikes weight can be so intimidating. Great great video!!!

Thinking of getting one of these myself and good to see that charlie is the same height as me and seemed very comfortable riding off road, especially the deep water section. Liked the video so much that I've subscribed.

What a beautiful video! Those foggy pov shots really have something magical to them. Great work! Also: Good choice bike, absolutely love my CRF250L❤
Edit: Just wanted to add that the conclusion through the comms is a great touch! Adds so much texture. Ok, that's it for now. Might add more compliments later.🙃

@@bigberthaontour Well there is the comment I made elsewhere about the adventure bike inflation. The title already gives off the wrong signals. People simply do not want to get good advice. “Adventure on a budget? Only 250 cc? Ohnonononono!” By the way: I also liked the well formulated radio-evaluation of the bike. Till Vinted barged in again. 🤣

Perfect bike..fun times👍 I've taken mine on many trips in Oz on highways but does struggle in head winds and hill, particularly when loaded....and the fuel use goes up alot. Great scenery btw..subbed and look forward to your vids.👍

@@Motourev it’s the perfect first green laner. Also worth checking out is the DRZ400, you get a lot of bike for not much money! Plus the crf300l if you’d like a crf but bit more power!

Fantastic edit. Ridiculously good off road for a first time....better than me 4 years in! Do agree on the odd gearing on the CRF. Don't like the brake dive either. Good to have a bike you can smash though.

Love the KTM, hopefully not just a phase…can’t afford more “phases” 🤣
