Wow it's like night and day after cleaning it. I bought this laptop back in 2013 and it hasn't been cleaned until today. Just idle it sounded like a leaf blower, now it's basically silent. Thanks for this awesome video, really helped me out!
Those keyboard tabs are a pain, it’s like they don’t want someone to steal it 😂. I just broke the edge ones and the two on each side of the middle. Leaving the corners and center one.
On this Model laptop are the CPU soldered to the board or can they be removed and upgraded. My laptop has a socket PGA 988 pentium cpu. On ebay there are socket PGA 988 i7s available at reasonable cost.
Can the top be removed without taking everything loose from the bottom? I just need to get to the screen hinge on the right side to repair it cause it popped loose ..I seen videos using Epoxy to fix it on other types of laptops but none on this one..Great video Thanks..
Those little tabs are a pain. Maybe it's possible that over time they lose there resiliency and do not want to be pushed in to liberate the keyboard... wrestling with this at the moment
yeah they are! sometimes you can try to start from either the left or right side and go with which side is easiest. i'm pushing the tabs in with a flat blade screw driver while lifting on the keyboard key with my fingernail but sometimes the key snaps loose and i have to push it back in and keep trying till i can get the keyboard to lift a little to be able to grip my fingernail on the corner of keyboard then it becomes easy.
finally managed to do it, i get the feeling I am not the first to carry out this action on this laptop and the tabs look in really poor shape. not all of them, are springy. So yeah, thin bladed knife, small flat screwdriver and one of those blue plastic triangular thingies to continue the pry. I watched every video I could about this and almost all of them had their hands covering this most important part of the removal process, as if it were the easy part, and the removal of the cable the hard part. :) This video, the last one I watched before jumping into action, gave me the hope and the prowess to accomplish the task. Good video action on the tabs. thx.
I have one with a Celeron T3500 (really shit) with the original hard drive from 2011, and put in 8 gigs of ram with a brand new SSD and the system performs pretty fast and feels like a completely different system
@@luisramirez-or5vg which type of ssd did you use? can you specify please? I'm plannign to upgrade to ssd myself but im not sure which type to go with.
It would be great if the keyboard on mine would actually come off. I've got the same laptop watching this video and my keyboard seems to be made into the top cover an not removable.
once you remove the one or two screws off the bottom of the laptop holding the keyboard. then you have to push those plastic tab things up with small flat blade screw driver( starting at 3:13) i go from the left hand or right hand side. if u see my fingernail on a key at 3:19 i'm trying to hold up the keyboard so the tab does not snap back on the keyboard once i push the tab up with my flat blade screw driver. there is a little tab holding keyboard by "pg up and tab" key but i can generally get the keyboard off with out touching those and just focusing on the top tabs. but u can try pushing those to. if you see you cleared all the tabs sometimes hp does put some tape adhesive under the keyboard so you do need to use a bit of force in those situations. or if you had a liquid spill it dries up and holds the keyboard as well.
Today my hp laptop photo program would not upload from my iphone. It just keeps showing me the same 49 photos not my most recent ones. Do you know what the problem could be?
Sheesh... replacing this damn left hinge on mine is a right pain! The keyboard was stubborn, the faceplate is being stubborn. Just opeb when I tug at you already! q.q
@@ejixiyscrims4346 lol yeah but when sold in retail it sucks so you have to add everything yourself. I added more memory and put in a sad now it's fine. Still slow tho.
so after you remove i think it was just one screw holding the keyboard under the memory cover(should have keyboard emblem next to the screw) - then starting at 3:19-4:22 i start to push the little plastic tabs (with flat blade screw driver) up that are holding the keyboard sometimes there is a sticky adhesive under keyboard so i occasionally had to apply more pressure to get keyboard loose.
erick villanueva that can be found under the RAM connectors, it’s a 6 digit number followed by a dash “ - “ and then a 3 digit number. Ex. 000000-000. The last 3 numbers are usually a 501 or a 001.
It'd really be helpful if someone narrated these videos. I can't tell how your doing some of this stuff
done like a boss :) I've always wished laptops were as easy as desktops to take apart !

Thanks for the video. Saved me a lot of frustration. Now I have to figure out how to get the screen off.
How to do so? my mpm old laptop is overheating 2 years ago so i wanted to fix it

Thanks! Couldn't figure out what was holding it in. Verdict: secret keyboard releases.
good video. I was wondering if you know for that specific model if I could get a new motherboard for that I can put my own CPU in?
tpn-L107 regulatory model i think
So, for example, in order to get to the fan, I would have to remove everything from the bottom of the laptop, but also the keyboard?
Pretty close yeah
I just gave up

What is the blue cord on your wrist?
it is an anti-static wristband
Thank you so much 😊❤️
Thank u, great video
Is the CPU detachable? I cant really tell
Party no, it comes pre assembled.
It looks like it can be swapped out. There is just one screw holding it in place.
I was wrong
May I ask what the blue thing is on your wrist or no
I believe that's an antistatic wristband
Is the cpu replaceable in any way? All this laptop needs a a better cpu and it would go from shit to good.
