I was heart broken that covid took John Prine. I had an opportunity to catch one of his last concerts in Virginia, but thought I would catch him the next time around. It should be a heavenly concert.
Yep, I stumbled across the bluegrass festival outside Sacramento, California on my way moving from Hawaii to Oregon. I stopped and camped at the festival for a few days and found these ladies in the acts playing. They were wonderful. I was able to pull up close in front with a folding chair. There were so many great bands playing, workshops and just people playing music around the campsites late into the night.
For all you 32 thousand plus that listened to this Della Mae song. I have a playlist that includes all of them from my summer California bluegrass festival campout. Pleasee let me know if you enjoy them. They make me smile everytime I hear them. Judging from the views, most of these have barely been found. Maybe this playlist will make a difference. ruclips.net/p/PLPBJnvrpbpIU8Sh6MOwVQdz_SmUZik6_t
Prine hisself talked about a lady who asked hin to sing his Happy Enchilada song. John said he was pretty sure he never wrote or sang a song about a happy enchilda. Sher persisted - that's the way the world goes around...
This version of Prine's song puts a smile on my face!!
John would have just loved your version. Keep singing his songs.
So good......Della Mae should do more John Prine songs.
And that's also the way the world sounds a lot better, thanks to you and our everloved John Prine.

"Naked as the eyes of a clown" Damn! As impactful a lyric as I've ever heard!!
Yeah, John Prine lyrics are often as poetic and creative as it gets.🍻

That was a hilarious song/story. He was a master of seeing things in a different light.
