Incredible I have never heard a recording of hers that early 1959 her voice was a little more ethereal a very different sound than she had in the early seventies
Very good guess...I think it's Barney as well (however I'm not positive)....he played on Julie London's recordings and was in L.A.'s Wrecking Crew...and it sounds just like him and his guitar.
A true confession! Like her voice and style and the purity of the backing!
Just read her NYT obit from a random tweet. I can’t believe I never heard of her. What a beautiful voice! RIP!
First time I bump into this. So glad I did.
RIP dear Carol ..... You are wonderful
RIP Carol. Looking forward to the documentary coming out. Never heard this early recording. Thanks.
One of the very best ever.
One of the greatest Jazz singers of my lifetime (1945-).
1945-2023

Bucky Pizzarelli and Chuck Wayne were musicians on this 59 recording date. Sounds like Bucky to me.
