  • I decided to give Ordro another shot and review what seems to be their latest model. This is the AX60. Will it show that they are genuinely trying to improve or will it disappoint?

    Sounds like they are trying to imitate Sony with the look and the model number. Personally, I think I'll stick to my MiniDV camcorders :).

    So I guess this could appropriately be called a "scamcorder"?

    Great video again man. Ordro is really pushing with that ridiculous scam with the sd card. They should get shut down after that, I really hope they are eventually. But I’m not gonna lie, the shitty camera market is incredibly fascinating to me. It really goes to show that if a camera looks “professional” on the outside, people will believe the same is true for the inside. I sometimes even consider buying one of these if I ever have money to throw away just to satisfy my fascination with these cameras. But I don’t think I’ll ever go through with it 😂

      I have started testing that other camera you brought to my attention as well. The one that directly rips off the look of a JVC camera. That thing definitely has some major chunks of metal inside. It's HEAVY.

      I have a Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera set up on a little arm in my sound booth over the desk. It's convenient to just rotate out of the way when I'm not using it, then swing out over the desk when I want to record. It has a lot of moire and the fan noise makes the audio from the internal mics useless for anything other than scratch audio for syncing with external audio, but otherwise it's a good little camera.

      @@bigtb1717 oh luckily I'm still within my 30 day return period with Amazon.
      The next question is which 4K Camera, on a budget to buy. I want 4K for a bit of longevity.

    • @bigtb1717
      @bigtb1717  11 месяцев назад +1

      If you really want 4K, one of the cheapest places to get decent looking 4K is in action cameras. DJI, GoPro, Insta360. Obviously, you'll give up the camcorder form factor, zoom, etc. But if you want good 4K image quality for $500 or less, action cameras are probably the best option.
      Honestly, modern smartphones are one of the better options these days. Not because they are necessarily inexpensive, but simply because many people already have them. If you don't already have one you can use, you might be able to find a decent iPhone used and get it just to use as a camera.
      Panasonic makes some 1080p camcorders you can usually find for around $400-$500 that take pretty good video. I know they aren't 4K, but they take vastly better video than any of the generic camcorders I've tested, even ones that came to be OVER 4K. They also have some 4K models for a bit more, but I've never tried them. Sony AX43 or AX53 are pretty good 4K camcorders. They have excellent stabilization and good video quality.
      Outside of the camcorder form factor, the Sony ZV-1 sometimes goes on sale for $650, which is a bit pricy and definitely has some quirks/issues, but it takes good quality 4K, has some zoom, has optical and digital image stabilization, built in ND filter, etc.
      In the small mirrorless form factor, Canon and Panasonic have some decent options in the $600-$800 range. The Canon M50 Mark II doesn't likely have a path forward in terms of new lenses being released, but it's not too bad for what it is right now. Panasonic has had the G85 and others on sale recently, so you may find a decent value mirrorless from them as well.

    One of these days they’re going to make something to rival Sony and all the reviews will be real and our heads will explode.

    • @bigtb1717
      @bigtb1717  3 года назад +1

      We'll see. If that happens I would give them props for finally making something good, but I'd have a difficult time actually recommending the camera considering all the shady stuff they've pulled while selling overpriced cameras full of false advertising to people for so long.

  • @julianoo563

    Conclusion: don’t buy any camera you see on internet, see the reviews, etc but you can shoot good videos with any camera by the way

    I think the app permissions are easily explained. Because the app isn't developed against Google Play Store, as that wouldn't work in China, it's developed against domestic frameworks, which to achieve any semblance of similar functionality must request permissions via the app, since they don't have a systems-permissions background service. But still having seen these companies' security fiascos, the decision not to issue excessive permissions to apps is a good idea. Not too long ago, "German" brand Gigaset was affected by their own update service downloading malware on the phones.

    • @bigtb1717
      @bigtb1717  Год назад +1

      One thing that makes me suspicious is that there are about a dozen different apps, all made by the same developer for various cameras and all do exactly the same thing. The first one I ever found, a long time ago had identical functionality to the most recent versions and it required almost zero permissions. Ever since then they keep releasing more and more apps and all with huge lists of permissions.
      Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the main agenda behind releasing all these cameras is to build up a network of data-mining apps on people's phones. The money they make selling these things is just a bonus. Maybe not, but sometimes I wonder.

    I also bought an ordro camcorder, I think the performance is very good in all aspects, not as bad as you said. Moreover, I watched your other videos, if their products are true as you said, then why do you buy so many of their products? Although you keep saying that it is for other consumers not to be fooled, I feel that your purpose is not so simple.

    • @bigtb1717
      @bigtb1717  3 года назад +3

      I assure you I’m not buying these cameras because I secretly think they are good. As you said, I simply want to let people know exactly what they are getting (or not getting) for their money.
      It is interesting that you question my motives. You posted this exact comment on more than one of my reviews and you run an online retail shop based on Hong Kong. If you had simply said the cameras are good enough for your use that would be one thing, but you said performance is “very good in all aspects.” Rather than vaguely imply deception or conspiracy as you have done, I’ll just ask: Do you sell these cameras or have a vested interest in them? If you really did buy one, which model? I honestly would love it if you would post a short review, written here or a video on your channel, describing the very good performance and pointing out where I’m wrong. Seriously, if you have a differing opinion, please explain.

      @@bigtb1717 I have this exact camera... I have not been able to play it as of yet. Have had it for about two years now just sitting in my closet. Without testing it or anything, I was very impressed in the way it was made, it seems they put a lot of craftsmanship into it. That's just my opinion, I know nothing about cameras. Watching your excellent video though, I am depressed lol. I spent over 500.00 with the accessory package. I wanted to use it to create a radio show. They should not be legally permitted to stipulate it's a 4K camera when it's not. This is false advertising and is illegal. You can't induce a consumer to buy something with false pretenses. How they get away with this is amazing. I also bought it for the WIFI thinking I shoot live joints, well it seems I was screwed.

      I saw your other comment about the block of cast iron in my notifications, but I don't see the comment on the video any more. Either way, I don't believe this camera has a block of metal in it (it's small if it does), but I'm looking at another generic camcorder that is a bit unique, and that one DEFINITELY has some blocks of metal inside. It's pretty large and it's really heavy.
