- Polyogn zkEVM, the flagship scaling solution from Polygon, is back to normal operation after suffering a major outage. Polygon reported the issue on Saturday night, attributing the issue to a sequencer fault following a Layer 1. The team emphasized that the issue was contained to zkEVM and that all other Polygon networks continued to function without issue. Meanwhile Solana fees continue to rocket as the price of $SOL climbs. Coinbase Layer-2 and Avalanche seem to be positioned for continued growth.

I like ICP, but there are two things that concern me
1. It has an unlimited maximum supply
2. It can be used to shut people out of the internet if it gains full dominance.
(This was highlighted in the early days, which is why some of the original developers tried to fork the project)
I like Cardano, I fully believe it is the project with humanity in mind as its goal
I like both, but I like Cardano's idealistic philosophy better
The best tech in Crypto is Hashgraph, not one of the 25K blockchains all just fighting the blockchain trilemma in slightly different ways.

@@markwilson2421 he seems pretty very inconsistent to me. He covered plenty of Solana outages as well as the avalanche outage. The fact is is that outages just don’t matter. The technology is so new and developers are only now being tested with real volume that puts stress on networks. This is the same reason why Coinbase has issues there’s a lot of trading that creates volume that slows down the network. It’s just not fud it’s what happens.

Emin says shared security is incompatible with scaling, and that therefore Avalanche's architecture is essentially multi-chain with interoperability. Cosmos takes a similar approach. But isn't this a reason why the AVAX token doesn't accrue value, i.e. that subnets use, or can use different tokens for staking, similarly to the diverse range of staking tokens connected via IBC (hence the long debate surrounding the utility of the ATOM token)?

@@korgond oh I know the centralization of polygon but I was just referring to the title and his discussion about what happened where polygon has two layers zkm layer and their L2 layer. I used it all day that day and had no issues which confused me.
Even if you don't believe in avax. You should listen to one or two of Emin's podcasts. He can be very aggressive about competitors. But he is a humble person too. He shared a lot of untold stories about his time with Ethereum.

First, the distinction between L1 and L2 is meaningless outside of the Ethereum ecosystem, because the only reason L2s exist is because Ethereum can’t scale without them and lots of VCs want new coin offerings to dump on retail. Solana has no need for any of that.
Second, Solana and ETH L2s are competing in the exact same space, with the exact same expected usage patterns, and with the exact same risks associated with downtime. There is no reason to draw a distinction between them in this case.
Any outage is a bad sign. Image running your credit or debit card and reguarly having outages would you still want that same debit or credit card.
