I own a Z4 2003 ( 2.5) since 2016...I have worked on the roadholding, and now it runs like a charm. New springs and new bilstein B6 dampers, and lightweight rims...and NO runflats! Some bushings are new as well. What I didn't like was the rough aluminum dashboard, but as it's made of casted aluminum, I sanded it down, and polished the alu surface, looks great now!
I had a friend looking into getting one or a z3 (Manual versions) until his mom said no because she wants a solid roof over his head. So he got an Audi TT. I was able to drive one of the last year models of the z4 with the 35 engine and the m package. Their transmission does shift well. And I found the torque of the engine at low rpm impressive. It was a 15 or 16 model I believe. I just barely put my foot into it and the speed just kept climbing from 60 to 75 very quickly. (In 7th gear). I’m not certain how much the transmissions and engine changed from the first z4 until the last z4. But it seems like they kept the essentials the same. I will be looking forward to the rest of the videos.
Great video and points on the car. I have an E85 2003 as well. It is a 2.5i manual 5 speed. The Zed you point out on the front quarter panel also has a truncated 4 in it. It is created by the diagonal line of the Zed and the vertical line on the front of the door. I did not see this myself, someone else pointed this out to me. Just thought it was clever if it was intentional.
Beautiful mate ! We have the same car and I’m really trying to start posting the progress I make. I love this car in silver on our wheels, but I’m slowly deleting the Amber around the car and replacing it with clear or red indicators, and adding things like red calipers and whatnot to give it some color pop. Let me know if it’s something your interested in seeing !
I know the E89 got bluetooth radio and 306hp and of course the N54 engine but, I prefer the E85 simplicity and the swoops and lines are just way better than the E89 can ever be. If there is a way to get the 236hp up to 300, there would be no more talking. Anybody knows what I can do to get the 236hp up there? cone K&N filters? cat delete, better tiires like michelin pilot sport 4s, some bolt ons I don't know of? By the way, what's the widest tires I can get away with? rim and tire width and sizes anyone? I watch tyre reviews and they put different fron and rear tire width combos to test and it seems the wider the tires are the better the grip in the dry and in braking as well.
personally i find these cars somehow ugly, somehow plastic .. well thats my personal opinion.. and I'm probably influenced because i live near munich und see these cars every single day. To me they miata curves are way more appealing! Anyway David have fun with that car!
Owned my Z4M a week now and loving it :)
I have an ‘06 Z4 and love it! I just bought a stubby antenna on Amazon and deleted the muffler. Excellent (and cheap) mods.

Awesome, so cool that you’ve bought a Z4!

Very neat design on that car. Those are some great things to like.
Beautiful car and color. I have the same color in a 2007 coupe 3.0 si. My next one is the roadster, wich I've had before.
Never noticed the "Z" on the side of my e85
Very nice!! just discovered your channel... Where you live is beautiful! North east here meh..

We have such similar tastes 😅. Ive had a z4, 3 miatas, '68 volvo 1800s, and a c70 👍
Got the same car the space in the storage lid between the seats is for an old ( 2003) mobile phone
How about the cabin accent lightning that comes on when the lights are on? Very subtle, but neat.
teinspringz oh yes how could I forget to add that!? And keeping everything Amber is just great for night vision.
Very nice

Wait till you get the rear end knock when you pull away and even a bmw specialist can't sort it out
Good review..
You need the small antenna
Love my Z4.
Mine has the same wheels.
A lot of cars can beat it in a straight line, but on a track, thats another story.
Made me wanna go drive ahahaha
Never paid any attention to them
Until now 👍
These car run flat tires, so no spear tire, I got one and love its.
What do you mean run flat tires?
jsegura525 translation: these cars use run-flat tires, so no spare tire.

Why are you using the British dialect? You're even meandering between continents with your accent. What's going on?
hashbrowns for hamster when I’m left alone with BBC radio I have an identity crisis.
Zed 4 sounds much better than Zee4 I am biased of course and you didn't mangle up mirror 😅
"Reason First..." What english?!
Tyler Domond Olde timey. I took that one from John Adams’ letter correspondence to Thomas Jefferson.
