I never cut from the back , you are compacting your rip by driving over it and you are always cutting up hill. Start your cut as close to your carry area as possible and still get a full load. Once your blade is full it will NOT carry any more dirt and you are wasting time and fuel by pushing through material that you aren't carrying. Keep your cut as short as possible, spread your load then back up only as far as neccesary to cut a full load.

Can someone explain how come the moving gear on the crawler is position differently? the Komatsu moving gear is on the bottom of the crawler while the cat is on the top of the crawler forming a triangle shape crawler and for some reason having the moving gear on top looks like a better on effective design.
its so easy. i like when people go on about how well a blade "rolls the material" Sure it helps loading, but most people that say that are just rolling material to windrow from the back end of the cut.keep in a slot, work from front of cut back. in perfect situations anyway. its old, its proven its logical and its easy

So true, Have been operating for over 50 yrs and always cut from the front for the exact reasons you say, always push down hill when ever possible and in slots until u need to clean up.
lol, the quality of a piece of heavy equipment should be determine by how long the factory paint or powder coat stays on.
one must look good while pushing dirt and afterwards.

I operated 155 plow cats 1975 vintage plowing pipe. They are great machines but wear your hearing protection.

matzu has allways built a good macheine other than there pins are soft!
agreed. we have bushings added to our blades before taking delivery. solves that issue.

I wish komatsu would target a dozer for the landfill industry. . . I have only seen one komatsu on a landfill. . . I love the cat D6,D7,D8,D9 that i have operated but never driven a komatsu. . . Would love the chance to operate and compare it to cat
They do make one I just put a 155 and a 85 together. Much better than cat any day of the week
155 is a rough piece of shit. High track everyday of the week
@@matthewgiadresco3619 Wouldn't think it would make much difference in land fill as its always a soft ride, not like working in rock all day then Hi Track has its advantages with a bogie undercarriage to cushion the ride.

Here in Michigan I service multiple D155’s at landfills. Landfills and large Quarries here are dropping Cat contracts and going to Komatsu and Deere. Mostly 944’s and WA500’s.
looks about the same as my HD 21 B Allis@ 90,000 pounds .
Operated HD 21 plow cats doing drainage. They can walk on water!👍

Great machine, not a productive operator, pushing over cut, spinning his tracks, stopping for no reason, ripping too much. Give him a good foreman and some guidance and make an operator out of him instead of a driver.

These days a good foreman sometimes
knows less than the operator, operator might have 40yrs experience and the foreman might have 4yrs experience but have all the paper work in place that has been learnt from a text book which is absolutely useless in the real world.
That operator needs to put the dozer in automatic mode so he is more efficient. He's spinning the tracks too much!

what a piece of shit . push beams have always been to far foward on the track frame , always losing traction with the front in the air and spinning out because only the back track is on the groung , not to mention the loud shit transmissions in komatsu dozers . poor visability also ! go CAT !

Upgrade to a D8, and get a real operator
a d8 is smaller and he is a very good operator.
