I’m watching the video RUclips just blocked the visuals
Stevie Ray Vaughan is the GOAT of blues guitar players, and he has a great blues singing voice as well. Plus, he played on every track of David Bowie's hit album Let's Dance as a session player. He's one of the elite; a musician's musician. RIP, SRV!
SRV is one of the greatest guitarists of the 20th century. His playing and his music were beyond amazing.
"Stevie was an endless, open channel that music just poured out of. He made people who'd never touched a guitar in their life want to pick one up and start playing, and he made those of us who'd played with him live onstage before want to quit.".................Eric Clapton.
A guy walks into a bar, he says, I'm starting a band and I need a lead singer, a rhythm guitarist and a lead guitarist...... Stevie say's here hold my beer!
Thanks, Bklyn! that "Live at El Mocambo" is astonishing... RIP SRV, the GOAT
you welcome!!! always
One of the greatest Blues Rock guitarists and singers. Gone too soon and missed greatly.
Stevie's mom gave birth to a guitar first. Stevie just came out to get it.
Now that is one I haven’t heard before
Never look away from SRV! You missed his flawless spin around, putting his guitar behind him.
By the way, you should hear Stevie Ray and Double Trouble cover Stevie Wonder's song "Superstition"! Try their official music video of it. Cleverly made, and Wonder appears in a cameo at the end of the video. The boys (SRV, bassist Tommy Shannon, and drummer Chris Layton) recorded at Stevie Wonder's own studio. Wonder loved SRV's musicianship. (and vice versa). They became good friends, and Wonder even took part in Stevie Ray's funeral when SRV lost his life in a helicopter crash in 1990.
He could even flawlessly switch guitars during a set. And play with his teeth.
Cut his teeth with Albert King, & played Hendrix without flinching.
Love to see younger people appreciating Stevie Ray great reaction.
Thanks!
Saw him live in Tampa, FL at a distance of about 20 ft........changed my DNA
I bet it did when did you go and get hearing aids lol they had said he played so loud it would make you need them no offense
He is the GOAT OF GOATS...PERIOD! 😎🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That’s the stuff I grew up listening to and playing!!! SRV baby!
You couldn't have picked a better vid to see your first of SRV, this whole performance is widely thought of as the best live performance of SRV or pretty much anybody really!
Yesssssss. It’s that “stank face” blues he be playing! Glad to see a young man feeling this! ❤❤
good music!
Life Without You, live at Capitol theater.
You don't want to miss that one.
Also, Stevie Wonder makes a cameo in SRV's official cover of his song "Superstition".
Yea that is a must to react too
The greatest guitar player ever!
The El Mocambo is a bar in Toronto Canada. It holds about 650 people yet many famous musicians including The Rolling Stones have played there.
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
El Mocambo is a famous club in Toronto.
Stevie is the GOAT, any genre, and this is the greatest use of a guitar I have heard in my 58 years.
You've only just started this journey. SRV has MANY that are memorizing to watch.
Speaking of Stevie Wonder, Check SRV's version of Superstition by Stevie Wonder. There are videos of SRV alone and one with SRV and Stevie Wonder play the song together on the same stage. Two other must watch videos of SRV are, Little Wing and Third Stone From The Sun. Both are Jimi Hendrix covers but they are phenomenal. FYI, any video by SRV is mind blowing. Consider yourself warned.
Its in Ontario Canada. El Macombo. On bass is Tommy Shannon on drums is Chris Laton lead vocals is my brother Stevie Ray Vaughan. The greates Guitar player on the face of the planet. Bar None.❤❤❤❤ My Sweet Brother.❤❤❤❤
Well, this was fun. I thought I've seen every reactor watching SRV for the 1st time. I didn't even need the video. I think I have it memorized. Pretty sure the "flood" is a metaphor for the flood of emotions of a relationship in trouble. If you are looking for more Stevie, his studio albums are very good but you can't go wrong with the RUclips live videos available: His covers to Hendrix's "Voodoo Chile" "Little Wing". "Life Without You" at the Capitol Theater is great. "Lenny" if you are looking for something jazzier.
The G.O.A.T. and I saw him play live. He was on the same bill as Robert Plant and he blew my mind. There is no one better than he was.
Greetings from DFW Texas. Yea, we get floods. Thanks for keeping up with the news.
your welcome brother
I am 47 i was 14 when i hear srv died! Broke my heart!
Gotta watch it live video he plays his guitar behind his back. He was so good died too early in a plane crash
lol i did read the pin comment
The most soul in a performance I’ve ever seen
Stevie Ray plays guitar and sings Chris laton is on the drums and Tommy Shannon is on-bass they also brought in Reese wynans on keyboards later on who now plays keyboards with Joe Bonamassa!
9 minutes is fleeting when you listen to this man play. It's never long enough.
Stevie Ray Vaughan (Von) on guitar and vocals, Tommy Shannon on bass, and Chris Latham on drums. According to Shannon's book, this was Stevie's best performance ever recorded. However, this was 2 years before his sobriety. One hour before this show in Toronto's El Mocambo club, Stevie was in a cocaine induced coma, and had to have medical personnel revive him with lots of vitamins and IV fluids. Hence all the extra notes compared to the original recording, and all the extra sweat pouring out of him that night. (from the IV fluids)
One of my favorite stories about Stevie is he was at Antoine’s and Albert King was playing that night and Stevie kept bugging Antoine to ask for him to sit in with Albert which by the way was also a great Blues player anyway Antoine finally gave in and went up and ask Albert if little Stevie could sit in with him Albert through he was courting make a fool out of Stevie which I think if I remember correctly was only about 17 well Stevie went up on stage and Albert would play some made up notes and Stevie played them better than Albert and they became close friends after that night
Peak level musician
he plays with the time on guitar slightly behind the beat slightly in front on direct time if he wants. total control over his expression!
💯
You need to watch the live version.
That was the live version! We just couldn’t see it!❤
Oh, no. You have to watch the live version, where he plays the guitar behind his back. Freakish talent.
thats what i was watching check my pin message
@@Bklynreau Fucking amazing, isn't it?
Stevie is guitarist & Vocal
Thanks for this reaction! Some folks have some sort of screen thing that puts rain drops, etc. over the video so we can still see it, but it doesn’t get blocked. Stevie does get blocked if you don’t. So glad you enjoyed his work. Please keep on with more Stevie! I knew him and I can tell you he was as kind and humble as he was talented. Here are two more must sees out of many:

Ontario Canada is where the El Macombo is.
El MaCombo is in Toronto, Ontario, Canada... Seen him live in '88 at Center 200 in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada... It was biblical!
Watch the video of this. You're missing out of a lot of what makes Stevie who he is.
If you missed the visual, You’ll never begin to understand 🤷♂️
Sadly, I was at Stevie Ray Vaughn's last concert the night his helicopter crashed after the show at Alpine Valley Wisconsin August 26th 1990. The fog was so bad after the show that we stopped and got a hotel room on the way home. The lineup was SRV, Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, Stevie's brother Jimmie and Buddy Guy. RIP SRV!
