Since I opted not to wear a wetsuit, I put on an Impact vest to keep my core warm. It really doesn't impede movement like a wetsuit.

Great volume for that length, but I really needed a longer board to get in and past the ledge.
I was hoping to get in one more swell before wetsuit time and bigger boards.

Well, well well... I do not really like when is that survive-mode. What board was that Rock? Kanga 8... something or what. Maybe lower not so glassy but these are our rough conditions and You know now what I ment to say by nose-diving, do you?

That nose has plenty of kick, but the board was on the short side for me in that wind, so by the time I got into waves they had sucked out and I surfed over the ledge. A younger kid would have air jumped and landed the drop…. but I stuck the nose in.

Je suis heureux que vous n'ayez aucune honte à pagayer à genoux, ce n'est l'affaire de personne d'autre que la vôtre !! Faites ce avec quoi vous êtes à l'aise. Le surf est un sport à pratiquer, c'est tout ce qui compte.
Oui, notre rivage peut être dangereux, c'est sûr... nous faisons tous preuve de prudence en sortant de l'eau.
J'ai passé quelques mois à surfer à Biarittz et ses environs en 1972... quel endroit incroyable !

Yeah that swell had no angle on it and was short period, so pretty much an exercise in futility!
Same thing up your way the previous day. I called it the worst session I can remember
2.5 hours... 1.5 waves, windy, lumpy... and more size than this vid...
impossible to paddle fast enough in the lumps, so every takeoff was too late and bumpy 🤣
