    Wow, love this! The Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge is something I remember from being a child, but I've never seen this before.

    I am named for one of the engineers who helped design it, Carl Rylander. My great uncle.

    Designed by British engineers and built in British factories using British workers and British resources powered by British coal. Like Japan and China now, back then we could take real pride in Britain and British industry and the engineering marvels of the day that it produced. Now mostly everything is made abroad by foreigners and our manufacturing sector has shrunk to a shadow of its former self. Oh well, at least we are still leaders in the fields of banking and stockbroking.

    Yes the guy was pulled up at the end of the clip, but it must have hurt like hell. I reckon his bowler hat took some of the impact to save the back of his head.
