  • Some roles require a microphone that has both a main AND a backup due to their costume, the amount of time they spend on stage or other reasons unique to every show.
Today I'm running you through how I put together what I call a 'double rig" for a lead cast member in a musical. My method this time is just a combination of tricks I have learnt from other mic techs, lessons my own experiences and following the specifications of the sound design given to me.

Fascinating! I love behind-the-scenes descriptions. Do you know how much these microphones cost? Many thanks!

Fantastic. You’re helping me better my work so much and giving me tips that I can use when working on shows. But I was wondering what type of wire you use for your mic rigs. I mainly do school shows so we don’t have that much time to prep but using wire would help a lot

    ok BEST. INTRO. SO. FAR.
Also imagine having the audacity to comment on mics. What do you want instead? To not hear people? It's really not that bad....

Thank you for the tips. I hear if you don’t have the hellerman lube, hand sanitizer work pretty well too.
