    i have built this as the lindberg kit and have not as an amt kit, but i can imagine the lindberg styrene would be a different composite making it just a bit more harder and slightly more brittle, which is partly why with amt's softer styrene it looks super crisp, other than some of older amt kits haveing less parts or relief details, they have always been a top notch company for kits, yeah revell is good, but there is just something cool about good amt kits, especially the additional stuff in kits, like trailers and tools and so much more. glad you are enjoying the kit enough to convey your excitement through to us viewers as it really is a great kit.

    • @modelcars2978
      @modelcars2978  Год назад +1

      I feel the same way. The Revell kits are good, but they're just boring most of the time. If I build an old muscle car, I want it to have some personality, like somebody drove it hard. That's why I love the old 3-n-1 kits. And MPC kits can be simplistic sometimes and not have the perfect dimensions; but they made kits with some pop to them.

    I recently completed this kit. It's currently in the member gallery for AMT 1342 on the Hobbylinc web site if you would like to check it out. I would post the link but RUclips will not post my comments with the link. The Chevelle I completed is the light blue one with the CT license tag. I thought the kit was ok. The front bumper was fiddley to align and attach--I had to cut the outer edges of the chassis for it to fit the way I wanted it to. I also bought the AMT redline tires and mag wheel kit. Also the door lines and trunk were scribed for better definition.

      The appeal of all the 1966 Chevelle kits is that for those that do kit-bashing and scratch building - this particular kit offers a good amount of versatile components
      that work well on many different projects. Having several in your stash will insure that you will have "just the right part" when you need it. Also looks good as box stock build.

    I have had a similar experience with a few Lindbergh kits, and also Lindbergh re labeled as AMT as well as MPC repops (the MPC Supra kit is AMAZING!). but it seems very hit and miss, I have only been in modeling for less than 5 years so don't have the wealth of info some of our builders do, all I know is its easy to recognize quality, and garbage. the details on my Lindbergh Maverick (also color me gone) and fitment was absolutely stellar. same thick plastic feel, crisp details and panels, hardly any prep at all, just basically built itself. again, kind of a newb myself but I chalk it all up to money. bottom lines and bean counters, over time corners get cut, changes made and quality sufferers. happens all the time basically everywhere. now, is it worth 40 bucks>? oooph...thats an entirely different can of worms but ill be considering it now!

Those kits have recently been re-released by Round 2 as they purchased Lindberg a few years ago.
