@LittleHobbit13 cope. The bouncer was doing his job asking for ID, the father of that girl who was abusing her power is already a criminal, so that doesn't matter. Literally what did Michael Pena even do
Yep, more or less in the same way a lot of male teenagers can do and actually do criminal acts in our (non-fictional) world ... including vandalizing things around, being part of criminal gangs, making threats and enjoying violence on harmless people etc. Got the reference :) ?
"We don't even notice the fear we constantly live with" Of course you don't, you're not a man. Your risks and thus fear are heavily mitigated. It's not you against 8 billion others. You've never been ALONE.
1:36 actually that wouldn't have worked. Despite what all the movies and tv shows tell you, shocking a completely stopped heart does not get it to start pumping again. Defibrillators are named so for a reason. They are meant to try to correct the rhythm of your heart if it ever goes into ventricular fibrillation. That means that the heart muscles are not contracting in the right "rhythm" for your heart to be moving the blood through your system (they also use defibrillators for atrial fibrillation as well, but when it comes to how it's shown in movies, resuscitating someone, this applies more to ventricular fibrillation). What it mainly looks like when a heart is in v-fib is like it's just fluttering randomly. So basically what the defibrillator does, is it sends and electric shock through the heart to actually STOP the heart which then hopefully it starts back up again but "reset" so hopefully in the correct rhythm. Or sometimes if it doesn't start up on its own you will need to then start chest compressions. But yah, like in the example of this trailer and in so many movies and tv shows, they show them using defibrillators on someone whose heart has completely stopped. Sending that electric signal through a stopped heart will not start it back up again. But yes, I know, it's a tv show about girls who can shoot lightning from their fingertips, lol. Just wanted to share that information since it applies to a lot of shows and movies and might be important to know if someone was caught in a situation where they see someone collapse. Once you see that they have no vital signs, you do chest compressions, chest compressions are the number 1 priority. If you had to choose between giving breaths and chest compressions and you could only do one, do chest compressions...
And you know the bird’s heart was completely stopped… how? Birds go into states of shock (including right before death) that make them look and feel completely lifeless. So, ipso facto…
@@PneumaNoose 🤷♂Because it's hollywood, the whole electric shock starting someone's stopped heart thing is basically the accepted fact in all of tv and movies. The book had zero humour. Infact, it's the most bleak and darker book I have ever read in my life. Which was done on purpose by the author (Naomi Alderman), and actually it NEEDED to be like that ! After reading it twice, I agree with her choose. The tv-serie, I guess they sprinkled some minor humour here and there, but I am gonna bet it's gonna be basically like the book, else it would lose its message.

It's literally about the pros & cons of power. Power can lift but it can also corrupt. It's the individual people and the mob mentality who hold that power whose actions decide which fate it will be. It's a great idea to build from.

Just read the book. Harrowing in places (if you've read the book you'll know what I'm referring to). Not sure if that was necessary. There wasn't a lot of diversity amongst the women in terms of how they handled their powers, most of them go mad and descended into homicide and degeneracy. Hopefully there's more variety in the series?
Fortunately they have brains which are judgemental unlike yours who is trying to terminate anyone who has superpowers even they have supes in their team
I read the book, because I read the blurb and thought it must be the wokist shit alive. I was wrong, it’s starts that way, but the point is once woman become as powerful as men, they become just as corrupt, and start doing horrible things, even raping and killing men, not collectively, just like in the real world there are good and bad women with ‘the power’. The point is actually that power corrupts, not that there’s a good or bad gender. It’s a clever book
When I first saw this trailer (from an ad) I thought the show was another attempt at the The Darkest Minds books (like what Disney is doing with Percy Jackson). Also, who is here from watching an ad? Edit: Just thought to add, this looks super good!!
Looks good, a lot of superhero shows and movies with female protagonists are generally done badly, and that's nothing at all against the women in them, I hope this is different. Something I could get my fiancé into perhaps.

So excited for this series!!!
I am so lucky to have been included in this! Even got to meet Toheeb(the journalist in the series)

You guys are going to love it!!
Well done
I think it looks awful. Tired of girl power. Old boring concept.
@@peterscoop2647 would you leave that kind of message if it was all boys?
@@isa2758 But it's already ''all boys'', in the real world. Reality check for ya.
Is it me or did they make the story funnier than what the book presents? 😒
@@windswar Yes, the book was very dark. I agree with you and I hope the series does it justice.
❌Well, 7 episodes in, so I can’t say that I didn’t give it “the old college try”
…but gimme a break🙄!!
This is a brilliant series!
Never heard of it before and I missed the book. But the show is fascinating. Very good.
And the book is much better ! Check it when the season is over !
You know something isn't right when the voice inside Allie's head tells her to take over the convent and become the new religious leader...when the previous leader was actually a good person. The real message is...Man or Woman, power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
This show is great there's a lot of meaning behind it. They picked the perfect cast for this also.
They also picked the perfect time for this show, only if people see the real meaning behind the story and not look at it as another show about mutations or superheroes...... what's going on in real life can sometimes be best described through movies and shows on TV
Lexie Liu Manta would be a good song to go with this show.
great another reason never let anybody have super powers because everyone are insane 😅
Right, let's just leave superior muscle strenght to boys and men, works fine for our such perfect world ! Oh wait...
@@windswar You're gone. Listen, the world would still be a shitty place with women in charge. It's humanity that causes our problems. Everyone is prone to corruption.
Greed, murder, theft, and lust for power, etc are things both men and women are capable of falling to.
@@TroublezAhead00 No I'm here :P and guess what ? The book ends exactly like that. Women in charge ? New boss, same boss, same dynamics (just inverted). You happy now :) ? Why don't you read it instead of blabbering obvious things ?

It's literally about the pros & cons of power. Power can lift but it can also corrupt. It's the individual people and the mob mentality who hold that power whose actions decide which fate it will be. It's a great idea to build from.
I’m so excited to see this! This is one of my favorite books I’ve read in the past few years. I’m also coincidentally happy that I just found out about the show the day before it premieres, so I don’t have to wait long for it. Lucky me!

Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely, regardless of its wielder. Even good intentions can become evil if we lose sight of the purpose of our power.
Your right. We started accepting feminists and now they’re drunk with power and destroying America
@@FuccYew As a non-American... I don't really care about that. What I'm saying is that Power reveals the true intentions of whomever wields it. If someone has enough power to do what they want, then you see what that someone always wanted to do with said power. So if a group of women gain god-like abilities, a lot of them will misuse that against other people once they grow into it. Much like how if you raise a child their entire life to believe that they have power over another race/gender/religion/idealogy, a lot of them will misuse that power once they grow into it.

"Never knew I was living in constant fear" is not something ONLY women experience. Try being autistic and outside by yourself. I either NEVER leave the property or need a few walks with someone to get used to it. Otherwise I am on constant edge, waiting for an attack.

@@Marcus_MG42 It's very likely. The production was troubled and it costed a ton of money, surely they did not recoup the investment. Now there's even the writers strike in the middle of things...
Anyway, the (awesome) book was already enough for the concept. This show was a free bonus - it diverted so much from the book that it almost looked like made from a fanfiction.
It's just a badly written book.
