  • Hey everyone! Here is a fun DIY project for nature lovers : plant fossils! In this video I show you how to cast flower shapes, using air drying clay and gypsum or plaster powder. To be easy to recreate by anyone, I'm using some paper ice cream cups, that you can find at hypermarkets or you can recycle some used ones. Be careful to chose plants that have a deep texture so it leaves bold marks in the clay. Enjoy!

    Hey lovely idea, i have seen Klever videos in which there is that soft modeling clay which doesnot get hardened. Never understood how. But ur video helped to try alternative with airdry clay inside something so it cannot dry. And ur pieces look as eligant as hers. Thanks for sharing...

    I did it and it crumbled apart so easily. I think I might try with cement instead next.

    Wow... great idea. Can you reuse the fast drying clay or does it harden?

    • @FluffyHedgehog
      @FluffyHedgehog  6 лет назад

      You can reuse if mixed with a bit of water, and not left more than 12 hours. It also depends on the brand of clay, cause some dry faster than others.

      Thanks for replying. Tried something with modelling clay which I could reuse a number of times and it’s way cheaper😊 Maybe you could check that too. Thank you

    Thankyou. your work is very beautiful. Can you kindly let me know how to make it water proof as it tends to break up after it comes in contact with rain water or moisture.

      Hmm...I'm not sure if you can make gypsum powder or plaster of paris waterproof...but there are some types of ceramic powders that are water proof by default. You just have to ask at the craft stores or search online

    Is gypsum powder the same as plaster of paris? Can either one be used?

    My clay ends up sticking to the base underneath and I have to scrap the clay off it so it ends up looking like a mess. How do you keep it from sticking?

    • @FluffyHedgehog
      @FluffyHedgehog  4 года назад

      Hmm..Maybe it was too much moisture in the clay. Leave it to dry for longer.
