Coros Updates > Garmin Updates
That screen mirroring looks pretty good. I appreciate how Coros is always adding new features.
Thank you for updating us :) Excited for the "screen mirroring" since I've been wanting to see live heart rate while doing indoor cardio and the easier to read activity info.
Anytime and enjoy the update 👍
Thanks for the video on the updates. Hopefully with utilizing the phone app, they will implement audio cues like mile split info over earbuds.
Thanks!
🙌
Hey Des cool video as usual and thanks for your insights! You think there will be Vertix 3 any soon?
I like the mirroring. Hope Garmin picks it up!
I notice that my Coros Pacer 3 gives me vibration alerts before a turn on a planned route and not just after I’ve missed it. But I haven’t been able to programme a specific distance to the turn. It wd be useful for the user to be able to programme a specific distance. Coz a 50m alert before a turn in running is not going to be adequate in skiing.
What's the difference between the new virtual pacer and the pace alerts that we have now?
Awesome. Creating Strava GPS Art should be much easier using the screen mirroring feature with a map. Going to give it a try next week. (I generally don't run with my huge phone on me)
That’s actually a great idea! Didn’t think of that 👌
That watch in the left hand... is the upcoming Vertix 2s 😁😁?
That’s a Vertix 2
Does Coros pace 3 have automatic workout detection?
That's a great update, the maps is going to be really useful but about time they release a new watch the Apex 2 Pro looking tired for the same price as a Suunto Race
Navigation watch question: I mostly do hiking and enjoy going off the trail often for fun “exploring and getting lost” - I don’t really care for the health/fitness features as a primary driver of my buy - but I want excellent navigation of routes, if I’m lost how to get back to route, etc. which watch(es) would be best for that?
Thank you!
The only watches that can draw a route without a phone are Garmin (guiding you to your starting point, a saved location, a POI). It's a feature you can have only on full-maps watches like Fenix/Epix and 955/965.
The other brands need a phone to draw the route and then send it to the watch.
Indoor Run needs a gradient/incline calibration feature like they use for distance, as hill reps are not trackabe at present.
There is one. At least on my pace 2
It seems that the choir cycle computer will come in May!! Well, Mirror Cycle Computer actually!
Excellent summary!
Maybe (from your usage experience) you could comment if Coros Apex 2 Pro's GPS performance has increased over the time or is it just at meh as at its release?
It seems to be about the same from my testing. I'll actually have an example or two in my next video.
For screen mirroring outdoors, is the watch using it's own GPS chipset? If so would be good way of using the phone screen real estate without draining phone battery as quickly.
Yes it is
Tracking shoe milage yet?
That coros map feature is neat and it made me think that Garmin should do this with Explore. Then I went and looked at Explore. It’s been a while. Garmin does do this navigation map sync Explore. It’s pretty much automatic if you have “sync current activity” turned on.
The Explore app does have something similar in regards to syncing an on-demand route but it seems more seamless in the COROS app, along with some other differences which I may cover in a follow up video once this is out of beta.
I wish Garmin would do this as well
Will the map mirroring also work on the pace 3? Since the pace 3 has no mapping ability...
The Rival had that feature
Yeah, I asked for virtual pacer and they made it.
It will be interesting to see how much tweaking happens on the layout of the live activity metrics screens. They look a little unrefinded right now, but this is only beta after all. I'll be waiting until the official release.
Hello. Do you think Garmin will add similar functionality in near future?
I don't think so. Garmin is going to want to sell you a new watch with these functions. It is best to move to coros.
Does anyone can helpe out with the update? I’ve an android phone and for some reason i don’t know how to update the app…
Great video! As a G-Shock enthusiast I think it would be incredible for an expert like you to test the GPR-H1000 and give us your point of view, is it on par with the Garmin or is it far behind? Thanks and regards.
Far behind.
@desfit regarding the 5 second field label, in addition to pressing the light button or rotating the dial, you can also do a quick tap of the screen to make the labels appear again if touchscreen is enabled. It is much easier than rotating or pressing buttons. Also the virtual pacer feature displays if you are leading or behind on your time jsing the running man on that page. Orange man will be the runner and the shadow behind is your goal, if the orange running man is ahead of the shadow, you are ahead of goal time. Oramge man behind shadow, lagging behind on goal
Appreciate the additional info, Shawn! 👍
Seriously considering changing from garmin, I’ve such inconsistent data since changing to a Epix gen 2 sapphire
Heart rate is worse than my vivoactive 4
I’m guessing it’s from the bulky size
But the new garmin update for the app isn’t great and the coros app looks great
Wow, the new data display has just removed Coros from my purchase shortlist, unless they're optional. I hate logos instead of labels, the labels when they are there are poorly chosen colours, and having lines between the displays helps me find the area I'm looking for quickly.
Also they make the arrow that points to your HR zone a lot smaller and harder to see... why?
The new data display is optional.
Hey @carsons5750 - Darian from COROS here, the new Activity interface will have the option to have labels, which users can choose. Additionally, before the public release we are looking to optimize the colors along with a black/white option. There will also be a divider line in the middle to differentiate between fields aligned horizontally.
The last point about the HR zone is also under consideration to optimize, both enlarging the arrow and possibly adding text to say which zone you are in. Keep in mind this is still in beta and we appreciate the feedback to help us improve our products!
@@darianallberry all good things to hear! Have to love the long support that you guys give your products.
The frequent updates and adding features to older watches is what Coros does a good job at.
I prefer garmins for their stats and better accuracy, but hope Garmin sees this and does better with their updates for older watches and not limited software features on lower ends.
Is this on the Coros Pace 2? Have read on REDDIT that none of it went to the Pace 2. Shame really
Now I wish I had bought the Apex Pro 2 instead of the Pace 3.
I may update in a couple of years but I love my pace 3.
@@MiguelExhale I do too but I just wish it had maps and was more robust
@@snowwalker9999 maps and recommended routes and trails to run would be excellent.
Can't wait for the EU to force them to make the battery replaceable so that I can buy one.
