  • Follow along as I take you through the process of removing and installing a different nozzle on an aero toolhead.
This can be useful if you want to switch nozzle sizes or to switch to a hardened nozzle to print abrasive filament like carbon fiber nylon.

FWIW, you don't actually have to worry about shorting the nozzle out. The nozzle is connected to an input pin on the microcontroller that is designed to be connected to ground or a full 5v, without needing any resistors. It won't hurt anything unless you connect it to +24V, for example. But there are no exposed parts at +24V on the printer. The leveling washers on the bed are held at +5V (or +3.3V if you have upgraded your control board to an Archim 2).
In short, you don't have to worry about bridging the nozzle via a conductive tool to the chassis or anything like that.

Does this wrench work on the stock SE printhead from Lulzbot that the mini 2 ships with?

@@jim2386 I saw that, but I didn't know if it was compatible with the special tool you show in the first part or if you had to use an adjustable wrench like you were talking about when showing the stock head on the 2nd half. It ended up being a moot point since the tool is sold out everywhere :p
