Brian, Mick and Steve... you guys have left a HUGE legacy to British rock! Andy keep doin’ what you are doing mate! These guys were awesome musicians in their own right! Vale to the guys who have departed - I’m sure you are rockin’ heaven 😎

if you want to admit it or not-sweet is definitly one of the most influantial rock bands ever...no doubt...
Who? Deep Purple, Led Zep.. Maybe hairstyles at best.
@@seltaeb9691smh
Queen copied Sweet in every way.
@@seltaeb9691You don’t understand what influence means! No, it doesn’t mean, there was a thousand bands that sounded like them( Zeppelin) it means It got people off their arse’s!! Cut down all of a sudden.
@@paulhudson563 I think they meant that the whole song wasn't shown and was cut off.
What a freaking show that was. The energy is so over the top. Brian Connelly was a ROCK GOD. This band should be to the Rock Hall Of Fame but no one there is educated enough in the art of rock to know it.
They are so much better than they were given credit for. When they shook off Chapman and Chin and the glam thing they became a world class act and better than many of their contemporaries. RIP Sweet.
I give a f... if they are in the Hall of Fame or not. As long as I and many other people know how good they were.
They were all ROCK GODS all four of them!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
@@dumpling49 Yes true of course but this video really highlighted Brian. The whole performance was incredible. Rock at it's finest.
@@michaelquaglia4156 Yes I know I was there!!!! ❤️
Most underrated rock band ever
The Musikladen videos really showed their ability to improvise and ROCK HARD !!
Yes! I think that set of videos is the best by far of anything on here. They were relaxed and funny, and the camera got all of them individually so much. ❤
Agreed. That Musikladen set is fantastic.
For me, Sweet are the ultimate rock band. They had the awesome songs, and delivered a powerhouse live gig. Maybe a DVD will be released of live footage from this period. Here's hoping!
I hope so too.
Hope you got the box set .

The Germans know talent when they see and hear it... think Beatles...
True
eer?... Milli Vanilli was produced by the same guy that produced The SWEET "Give Us A Wink" Still the best band ever. Andy Scott, last man standing.
This is Freaking EPIC!!! KICK-ASS TIGHT AND FREAKING LIVE!!! SWEET, WHAT A SOUND, even if the sound quality is not so good, you can only imagine the AWESOMENESS to be there and hear all this Epic Music, musicianship and vocals LIVE!! KICK-ASS EPIC!! SWEET SINCE 1975!
WOW !!! Such a far cry from their early bubble gum days. they continued to progress into hard rock and metal including early speed metal. However, NEVER, NEVER EVER got the recognition they deserved. They were as good as Purple, Zep and Sabbath. From what I have read Sabbaths production team had actually inquired about their sound because they liked it so much and wanted to work with Sweets producer. The song AC/DC was done by Joan Jett and done very well.
Their bubble gum singing was great too
Brian was a beast
ill tiger
I am so jealous of anyone who got to see them live back in the day.
me too!
They where a force to be reckoned with, superb live. i was fortunate enough to see them a couple of times at Manchester Uni
God me to so much
marcus trelle Really? LOL he couldn’t find anything to change into or was he offended they laughed?
This is pretty close, just judging by the 1st song on the video so far. I was at their 1st L.A. California show ever at the Santa Monica Civic,1976, I was 15. They screened the same intro film. They were completely over the top, visually, vocally and musically. Steve priest was hysterically funny on stage, bantering with the audience, keeping things lively. He cursed like a sailor. and every time he could substitute a word in the lyrics for something obscene he would. A Real rocknroller. Seen a lotta bands, these guys were unique.
Proper rock stars but still seemed Street.
This is pretty awesome... matching up the audio with a 8mm filmed concert... thanks to whoever took the time and care to do it ! 😀👍🏻
Just Brilliant first time i have seen this love Brian
Heavy metal hard rock 70s❤🍺🍺
THE BEST!!!!!!What a power!
Holy shit!!!!! This is friggin awesome!!! Brian's energy is over the top, and his vocals are edgy, Mick is very underrated, Andy's playing with a vengeance, that harmony is golden..... I want to see this in its entirety
I'm not all too sure if there's more video, but the whole concert is certainly taped as audio!
Here we go, it's underrated time folks😅.
Witam swietny zespol jak dla mnie to nsjlepszy
Hard to believe they don't get more respect. They belong in the R&R Hall of Fame.
why do you think so? What style did they create and what did they influence? I feel like their music is good but they just played a style that already existed and they liked it.
@@phoenix21studios Lots of bands nowadays claim their influence on them. They were innovators!! Queen copied their style but they never admitted it but everyone knows.
YES!!!! Definitely!!
@@dumpling49 They both started in the UK at nearly the same time. Marc Bolan was the real influencer of glam rock at the end of the 1960s in the UK along with Bowie.
@@phoenix21studios disagree. They did the multi part harmonies, mixing hard rock and pop before Queen. They were an enormous influence on NWOBHM. And, dare I say, Punk. Yes. I said it......
How influential these guys were. A monster of a band!
Think of all the bands that were influenced by the Sweet. There would be no Kiss or Motley Crue Etc.
@@petebeeley4735 I know. Incredible band Sweet were. Love them guys.
Four lead singers in the band, all with the same incredible voice. What bands ever get so lucky??
Brian in clear vocal difficulties...!
Unfortunately, yes - after that drunken brawl in the bar where he suffered a throat injury, things got worse and worse... 💔😢
Yes..Brian and his gys was "live" total Rock'n'Roll!!!!!!
how exciting and their vocals are amazing.
1:22 Ladies and gentlemen! Brian, Steve, Andy and Mick. The Sweet!!!
I have been there, I was 15 then. I was so amazed, no sleep one week before and after...
Fantastic!!!
Can't get enough 😉
I want to go back to the seventies 💕
An incredible band! I've loved them ever since I heard the Ballroom Blitz first time as a teenager in the 70s. So glad I found this video. The Sweet live performance videos are rare and every time I find one is a treat. Truly the Sweet musicianship is on par with that of the Queen. Both are the greatest bands in the world!
this is just mind blowing if this has been found maybe there us hope for more lost footage from the greatest ever band
Even with Brian's voice not at 100% the man wan an absolute beast of a singer and performer.
Hi is flawless in his timing and the feel!
Its add a more nasty attitude , even.more punk vocifering than punk back then .
With their Mick double kick attack and proto thrash riffs , its very ahead of the game
It’s obvious that Brian especially gave his total energy and commitment to The Sweet. If it weren’t for his addiction problems, I’m certain they would have kept going through the 1980s and beyond.
@@caryheuchert It really is a disease. 😔 Poor Brian.

I dont care how you call their music but these guys were true and mean metalheads, and this show is your ultimate proof

These fellows sure made an impression and inspired loads of bands.
SWEET really was a POWERHOUSE of a band !
someone needs to spend some money on this and have it restored professionally. in its current state, its poor quality visuals and very unstable on the lower half of the screen. restore it and repost it, you know its worth it.
Yes they could restore it. Led zeppelin live at knebworth 79 was as bad as this quality and now its fantastic quality.
Cockroach, performed here, is way better than on 76's LP.
This was my very first Sweet concert and it was so awesome!! What a day!!!L 🎸❤️🎶🤘

So great to hear this takes me back to the 1970s . What fun.
Amazing!
OMG...I freaking love this. Ok the recording is questionable but the band is incredibly fantastic. So 70s cool.
I wish Sweet would release a live DVD with footage from this era.
There is nothing, I think. That`s a real pity they never filmed a show.
Flieder31 Real shame
I would buy it.
They never performed at huge concerts, festivals, one time in 74 cause of Conellys illness
@Dirk Diggler Ah but Mr Diggler, that's not true is it? You know this. If you had it, so would Sweet. Or any other fan. But no one has. The audio maybe. And film used in All That Glitters. But that's it.
I saw Sweet in Konserthuset in Stockholm 1975 when I was 9! Imagine my surprise when they started with that movie!! 😮 It was a great concert!
Lucky you. Cool bands seldom came to Finland.

Amazing footage! Thanks for sharing.
My first proper rock concert as a kid was SWEET and it totally blew my mind! Was nine months before this concert... 16 August, 1975 at Regent Theatre, Dunedin, New Zealand. I will never forget how absolutely awesome it was and this fantastic (albeit flawed) footage is a great document of how talented, powerful and legendary the Connolly / Priest / Scott / Tucker lineup of SWEET were! The BEST! 🌟🌟🌟🌟
I saw the last tour with Brian Connolly in 1978 " Level Headed " tour I was front row right in front of Brian . Eddie Money & Alice Cooper were also there
@@gusperez6144 Excellent! Brian was losing strength by then, but still so charismatic and amazing! Love 'Level Headed', a wonderful album and the tour would have been awesome.... especially front row!
Why is the camera man so interested in the crowd and not Brian. sooo wish he was still alive loved the magic 4 I think they should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of fame for the great music they all made.
This is so fucking AWESOME! This is literally like pre-metal. The performance is so much more hard core than the recordings.
@ihghost, Yes, those distorted guitar chords and riffs are freaking awesome Metal Genre! I wonder if Sweet influenced this sound at all. The seventies were Pure Rock in sound, but this is right on "Metal" Heavy and in-your-face!
Not pre metal
This is metal

This is gold for those of us too young in the 70s to see Sweet. While I wish they were whole songs, this is fabulous! The infamous rotating eye!
This is great but Steve I wish you and Andy could patch things for the 50th ,,It would be nice to see you together again ......:-D

Ja Rene darum beneide ich dich sehr ......ich war damals leider noch zu jung !!
@Frank Masuzzo In Denmark...🙏
History. However, their managements, including RCA were all total BS, with not a single person who was able, or willing to make a solid AUDIO/VIDEO recording of at least ONE of their concert during tours in GB, Europe, America or Japan in their top 70's, while Brian was lead. Make us all wonder if that was deliberately, while all others like Deep Purple, T-Rex, Who, Zeppelin,... made numerous LIVE recordings, and movies on tours!
Yes but at least we have live at musikladen now which is fantastic.
The Musikladen Live Concert from 1974 is amazing.
Absolute spot on comment here - It even seems like some conspiracy that there was no useful footage of their live performances recorded besides those TV appearances of a sides, lip syncing BS that really don`t count imho. The 1974 Musikladen video reveals the real energy the band had as a live act . Such a crying shame - The Rainbow appearance of "Hellraiser" is also a gem and the rest got "lost" - Such an outstanding scandal in rock history.
In those days: lots of the main stream music reporters didn't like Sweet at all because of their live excesses. They were thought disgusting as teenage girls had to watch a confetti spewing p*nis. Little did they know there was a movement coming shortly after Sweet's big successes to take explicit profit out of outrageous behaviour called punk but it was all about management, wasn't it? Pictures of Sid Vicious going round with his Swastika T-shirt and daring to say "F*ck" anywhere and being sewed for using the word "Bollocks" in an album title... It so happens to be that in 74 the lads from Sweet showed up for promoting "Teenage Rampage" on Musikladen in Germany(!) with Mick having a swastika sewed on the back of his outfit, Steve's had "F*ck you" onto his and Andy wore "Bollox". Sorry, Johnny Rotten, Malcolm Mc etc but: owned!
Oh God, I want to see this whole show. We need a time machine. I love that Steve got to do Restless. I've seen just one other clip of it, and it was so dark it was terrible.
Este vídeo es una joya, saludos.
Freakin awesome rock gods!
This film quality makes you appreciate today's technology.
well, just maybe one day some of all this footage will be remastered with the best of modern technology. I just wonder were all the missing parts went? There's a lot of skipping of the songs right in the middle. There must be more of this perticular gig, no?
@@phillarsson8253 Well yes probably in the editing process some pieces were lost. It's a shame too because this is such a good show. Then again they were always tight . I think this footage should be preserved for music history.
The quality of this bootleg is very bad, but the group is great and the sound is great. I saw them in 1974. 🦋

I grow up in the Town of Musikladen (Bremen) and live already here! I am a great Sweetfan and had begin to play drums because i loved Mick Tucker! I saw Mick and Andy on the action tour in the 90´s and have a broken Stick from Mick at home that he threw in the crowd! In the past with Brian and Steve i hav´nt see a Concert ;-( What a shame!
I would KILL for a drumstick of Mick's. You lucky dude! So glad you saw them. I have his identical necklace and I wear it every damn day. Hoping it brings me luck with my drumming progression too. :)
Wow that is awesome! Mick is my drumming king! I'd also kill for one of his sticks. RIP dear Mick. We miss you. 😢
Damn , too bad that we all grow old, Brian the frontman, Mick the awesome drummer, and then Stevie Stevie Priest my favorite, the bassist and Andy who is still with us. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame sucks. They belong in there and Steve's American band needs to stop preforming with the Sweet name
Steve Preist RIP.😞
What voices!
WOW
Wow I found this video again. This is a gem and we get to see the stupid eye prop that Steve talked about in his book. Why is Brian keep saying put that cigarette out? Maybe repeating what he always hears as a joke, lol. I'm sure people were always yelling that at him. You would NEVER see that kind of nudity at a concert in North America especially a high end band like them. Only in Europe. Lucky bastards! Yeah def. gonna save this one so I don't lose it again! What a gem of a clip! Always been a big sweet fan. Always Steve was my favorite! RIP Steve, glad to finally getting around to your book. Recently found that pic of them with "Helen the groupie" in the back of a van, on Pinterest. Gonna save that one too. Some artist did a remake of that picture in the style of "Rock and Roll Dreams" artist Guy Peellaert. I must say it was well done. If you find the "Helen" pic on there, just scroll down and you will see it.

Good sound, musicians and voices. The opposite of their reputation, initialized through some of agnostic minded music journalists during the whole time of their successful 70th.
FREAKING EPIC!!! Those distorted guitar chords and riffs are freaking awesome "Metal" Genre! I wonder if Sweet influenced this sound at all. The seventies were Pure Rock in sound, but this is right on "Metal" Heavy and in-your-face pushed hard with Brian's vocal and with the 3 part harmoanies on top, man, it's SUGAR on the cake!
