Wet sanding is not new and is only good to remove the extreme excess mudd. If you try to paint it, you'll understand why there is no way to avoid sanding with actual sandpaper as it is the ONLY way to get the surface smooth enough for paint.
I didn't say it was new I first did it 20 years ago. If you do a good job of putting the mud on I can get it to a level 4 finish and we aren't doing a gloss paint so...
I have used the wet sanding technique to remove excess quickset, but as soon as the final coat of regular mud is applied, it's only sandpaper. This is not my opinion, it's the truth ~ there never has been any way to avoid actual sanding, no matter the paint sheen.
I love the tips and tricks! Nobody likes to sand that stuff, I have used a board wit the rag and water to block the drywall mud.

Better watch out listening to him
Definitelly digged in too deep on the screws lol need a flat surface that won"t allow the pressure of your fingers to mess with the finish
It's called wet sanding
Your not gonna get a good finish with that
That spot you just wiped was indented
ready for the next coat
