i wish more of the hunting entertainment community was as raw and focused as this is. i get so tired of the over commercialized latest and greatest junk that creates unrealistic expectations. this is real hunting and woodsmanship, something that is becoming increasingly hard to find.
Great comment i completely agree
You said it. Lazy hunters with cellular field cameras and baited deer. Muzzleloaders that shoot 300 yards, what a joke.
I’m hoping you guys like this
Lee Libby it’s a great film!
Lee Libby, congratulations. This is about as real and genuine as it gets. Fantastic
I’m hoping me and Timmy can make one half as good, calling for snow in northern NH next week! Great film lee Bret did a great job minus all the BS
Great film Lee
Awesome film!!
I’ve watched this video at least 10 times. It’s hands down one of my favorites. Start to finish everything is perfect. It makes you feel like you were right there.
"The guy who covers the most ground sees the most deer" words to live by!
I get that mentality, but I cover all my ground pre season and then hone in on good deer areas during the season. So in a sense yes I cover alot of ground, but I don't went I need a deer... make sense?
Can't shoot one sitting at the table drinking coffee.
I agree and disagree!right now in ny its hard to walk and not spook deer with no snow and crunchy ground on thick wood
@@bixby9797 well actually ya can if your that type
Hands down best deer hunting video ever
Wow, why go to a cornfield in Illinois with 42 deer per sq mile, when you can rough it in the freezing cold pine barrens of Maine hunting for a needle in a haystack buck. Congrats guys. Hard work Pays Off for sure!
Fishing With Dog exactly my thoughts, this is real hunting right here! Not the guys that wear their $1000 Sitka gear, have their deer pre-scouted for them and their deer are all named... nope, this video right here is what hunting is all about!
Because cornfield hunting is for people that can't hunt or who are lazy. We like the sport of it and to be out alone in the woods instead of farm raised deer
@@Tmanscar Bahahahaha exactly!!!! Glorified farmers!
So you guys know the ending of me talking was filmed two months later and I was sick as a dog . The camera guy showed up and said I need voice over ! Get out of bed! I look bad 🤢
I bet if he said get up and go chase whitetails you wouldve done that too! Good work, worth the wait.
Wow. Well worth the wait.
The film, the hunt, the narration and the voice over is just absolutely awesome. I love it. As someone earlier stated, this is truly the essence of hunting! Well done sir.
I met Lee Libby and got to tell him how much I liked this video. I hunted this way years ago age and health caught up with me but continue to savor the memories from years past. His words at the end of the video are what really resonated with me. Thank you for sharing a few words with me it meant a lot.
Only those who have really lived the "walk" and passion felt by this film, can really identify with it's underpinnings. When I am too old to no longer "walk" the "walk" , I, - we'll, be haunted by the wild. Great short film.
One of the most enjoyable hunting films I've ever watched. Thank you for this, it reminds me of my childhood walking miles a day in the mountains of PA. I hope that one day I'll get to set foot in the woods of Maine.
I could smell the heart cooking at the end. Always been my favorite part to eat. Awesome video.
Well done!...Theres nothing like tracking a big buck on fresh snow.
How could anyone dislike this video there so much love for the hunt and chase of the deer it just gose to show I'm not the only one who loves and respects the white tail deer of northern Maine
I seldom watch any RUclips video more than once. This one I’ve watched at least five times. Puts me right there in the woods, in that snow looking for that buck. Nice job guys. 👍🏻
I hunted Maine for 30 years this video made me think of how much I miss it
Awesome Lee. This will now join Hal’s “No Boundries” as motivation the night before I make the 9 hour drive to my north Maine deer camp.
I re watched it again 3 more times tonight with my family, truly loved it. Shows all the values that were instilled in my family and I from a young age. Great job and many more years of big buck hunting to you all my friends. Happy Hunting
I honestly cannot stop watching it. You are a true inspiration Lee. Well done, sir.
Big woods bucks and Jeff Doyle have the best deer hunts on RUclips and anywhere for that matter hands down, keep up the great work guys.
Papa Romes Outdoors 100% agree with you
@@cavedweller364 I mean Papa Romes makes some impressive self filmed videos, but nothing like them hahah
Know matter how many times I watch this it doesn’t get old 👍
I have the utmost respect for you guys that’s the purest form of deer hunting out there I hunt in upstate Pennsylvania it’s a pumpkin army everywhere I go
Life gets no better than this. God bless.
This is a Great short film Lee. This was looking in a mirror for me and watching myself for many years. You have given this old NY Hunter a great motivation for this years hunt which opens in 11 days and hopefully many many more. Thank you!
Absolutely fantastic. Just a dead set perfect film about a tenacious Maine deer hunter. I Loved every minute
I stand with this guy, God bless all you boys, and your families, great hunt, dandy buck, great success and safety, to you and all a part of this channel
This is one of the better hunting videos that I have watched in awhile. Good luck this year!
Congratulations on your film Lee. I have watched it a half dozen times. It was well worth the wait.
Thank you for this im a deer hunter from Nova Scotia Canada 🇨🇦 very similar country it feels familiar tagging along with you just like following a wise uncle or grandfather.
The efforts that going into making a great hunting video! I love it.
At this point, it feels like we’ve been waiting for 10 years!
Amazing video and story. Much respect from Canada!!!!! This is how hunting is meant to be. Cheers
That was awesome! The journey, the work and the dedication. The behind the scenes story let people see the working side of hunting. You fellas in Maine need to put more of these videos out.
Well done guys!!!! You really captured the essence of the hunt. That is what it is all about. The good times with buddies and family at camp.
The real deal. Thank you for the effort. That is the most accurate video on real northern New England deer hunting I've seem. Word for word my hunting lifestyle history. Starts tomorrow an inch on the ground and cold, been almost 365 days waiting to make more memories. Thanks again
Well done Lee!! You might soon be a bigger celebrity than Hal. Loved the film love the Podcast as well!
In my opinion, this is a great tribute to a true Maine hunting tradition: tracking big bucks. That the film maker could keep up with you, Lee, and capture every aspect of the hunt is nothing short of miraculous. So, too, is his portrayal of your thinking and what's behind your deer hunting. I sincerely hope that you two collaborate on more projects here in Maine.
An excellent short film that accurately depicts what buck hunting in the big woods is all about. It's not about taking the easiest path to success. That would rob us of the true treasure, the experiences of the journey. Well done and I wish you many more years of hunting.
What an incredible story. Thank you for sharing that. So tastefully done.
Great job watched entire show. Beautiful cabin. I liked your quote at the beginning. Nice beagle. Beautiful big woods. Nice narration. Very engaging. Gives you the feeling of how small we really are. IF we are doing it together. We have something in common good stuff god bless!
OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Beautiful film...beautifully shot...beautiful buck...and my hunter guru Lee Libby exemplifies the passion. BEAUTIFUL...
I’m a trucking hunter and I found your podcast in the Kenworth about a month ago. I’ve been looking forward to seeing this video, since I heard you guys talk about it! I’m sitting here at a truck stop in Illinois, waiting with baited breath!
Brought tears to my eyes, thinking about how much I cherish this passion......this tradition. Really nice job guys!
I truly enjoyed this. I also like to stalk hunt. It kills me being deployed and missing hunting season but watching vids like this helps pass the time and lessen the sting. Nice buck brother.
GeninTengu , I remember those days. I was a young man then . First of all Thankyou what you’re doing right now is probably the most important thing you’ll ever do. You won’t ever forget it , you will be dreaming about it when you least expect it The memories never leave you. Now as for hunting, I once came back to the world for a season it was so hard to go back. The deer camp will always be there and you will get back. Keep your focus on what you are doing now and think about tomorrow tomorrow . Be safe . A little advice from the medic .
Thanks for your service brother, i know, 7 years Army. safe home to ya bud
@@michaelhaulotte689 Roger. Tracking Doc. Thank you for the encouragement.
@@henrybittle5234 thanks brother.
Thanks for your service! hope you get to hunt somewhere!
Great job Lee and thanks for sharing this with us! Rifle season is knocking on our doors here in the UP and I can’t hardly wait to take the first track this season! This film has me even more fired up! Thanks again!
When Lee talks about having fun at the end about going out for a night or a day and finding the good in them! He means it! I'm glad you included the footage.
so glad to hear you say that! i started hunting at the age of 7 , by my self at the age of 12! i cover miles and miles in VT mountains each year! when i use to come home my dad and sisters Boyfriend would ask, how many today? when i would say 11, or 9, or 5 or 15 they would always laugh! but when i brought my first Buck back all by my self! they Believed pretty quick! Good Luck ! my son and i are starting youth day here in VT tomorrow!!! were EXCITED! just trying to beat the Flu first! no matter though were Hunting!
I have watched this video several times now and consider this the best, true to life, inspiring video on deer hunting I have ever seen. Lee, thanks for putting this together for us...this goes beyond just a deer hunting video, it makes you really think about things...again, thanks so much for this!
This is one of the best, most honest, deer hunting films I've ever seen. Thank You.
I saw it on your facebook post haha good stuff!
@@craigneilson81 It's nice to see an eastern hunter leave the treestand ;)
i 've watched this 3 times now, Awesome Film!!!
Been waiting to see this! Thank you for sharing for all of us who enjoy the passion of hunting! I’m with you 100%!
Profound words, about personal perspective and sharing a common purpose regardless of contradiction. Gave me chills. The best time I've spent all week was watching that film.
This is kind of video I can relate to...great job lee by showing our story as we do what drives us, it's a story that needs no words. 👍
Well done. The cinema created by the void of dialogue was very cool. It’s how tracking really is. It is only you out there. Great job, to both of you guys.
This is a video about deer hunting that was long overdue. The fact that you picked your cameraman knowing that his beliefs are not aligned with yours, and the fact that he went into it open minded shows that we can find common ground. His cinematography was excellent and somehow caught more than just the hunt. It caught the almost spiritual reason that we head north and take on a deer under the deer's conditions. If I wanted to kill a deer, just for the sake of killing a deer, I'd stay home and shoot one off my back deck. Hunting is way more than that to me. You guys managed to capture that here. Great job Lee!
Nice job Lee. Thank you for representing Hunting in Maine with this video.
This....this is...incredible!!! Very raw film, no frills just a hunt at its finest captured in a simplistic and powerful way!!
This absolutely catches the essence of deer hunting in Maine. The strong heritage of it, the camaraderie between hunters, battling the terrain and elements, all of it. It literally makes you want to head up to the big woods immediately. Great film, and great buck!
I just returned from a deer scouting trip at my camp in Marinette Co. WI. Snow was in the air up there today - the juices were flowing!! I knew this would be waiting for me when I got home and as I drove the 2 hours, I savored the anticipation. I have heard about it for almost a year and it was worth the wait. Well done Lee. After all you had to put up with in getting this released - you nailed it. WI opener is Nov. 23...I don't want to wish my life away but can I make the time go by faster? I am going to watch this film once a day till then, I guarantee you.
Great job Lee! This is right up there on my top 10 favorite hunting video list!
Awesome job! I certainly appreciate the insight and heritage of Maine that you guys display! Keep up the great work and good luck this season.
14:59. Hahaha thanks bud! I love this part! I watched this video multiple times now and love every min of it. All the little details compiled to make this short film do an excellent job of sharing the passion of hunting weather it be in Maine or any other rural big woods destination.
Ive watched this quite a few times and it never gets old
Thank you for making and sharing this video with us all. Really enjoyed the message at the end. Bless you
Great film Lee! I put it on the tv so my friends could enjoy it with me and we all loved it. Much respect for the BWB crew and hope to get my butt up there soon.
Fantastic job! In life determination is key to success in everything. You definitely show it. Great job👍
Beautiful buck, thank you for sharing . I like to cover ground and it was also an older cousin that introduced me to that way of hunting . Bait and wait is the popular way to hunt here in New Brunswick Canada. Heart is my favourite cut to enjoy first on the night of a successful hunt .
Ah, to hunt the BIG WOODS, looking for that big ridge runner, what memories you bought back, beautiful the way you put the story together. I could taste that fried venison, as you put in your mouth, thanks for bring back the memories.
Can’t wait. Been hearing about this for a year. Congrats Lee.
Loved the documentary....so true.
Kudos to my fellow hunter....I've hunted Mt. Katahdin and Turner in Maine. Beautiful country.
Nice deer....biggens in Maine.
Lee must know the Benoits....big trackers too.
Best from Catskill Mtns. NY.
Great video, different style of hunting than what I'm used to, very enjoyable from start to finish, thanks for this.
“Find the good in them” - Powerful. Excellent video Lee.
This was incredible. Thank you for making and sharing this.
Outstanding -- the hunt, the filming and the attitude.
Very well done. You really brought the feel of being on the track out with this film!
What an excellent job you did on this short film . Very impressed
Absolutely, exceptional, tremendous and outstanding, very well done, a beautiful view of the hunt, and a heart for doing it with someone and sharing the experience, what a beautiful time, thank you,,we all needed to see this
At age 58, I have been seriously hunting deer for 43 years. During those many years I have. Put my boots on with great optimism.
This is what I consider an exceptional, soulful, and thoughtful hunting video. The story, content, filming, editing, completion, plus the values philosophy at the end all combined to make a visual symphony of deer hunting.
It is completely different from the garbage
Great film! Very well done. Thank you and God bless.
Fantastic hunt. Beautiful buck. I love the old Remington pump carbine. Sir, you're a great tracker and hunter. Keep the videos coming.
Hi Lee, congrats on winning the film festival!! Please make some more films. Just the other day I came across the BWB podcasts and fell in love with it. prior to this i tried to stomach a couple of hunting podcasts but couldn't get into them. Big Wood Buck pod cast has me listening really intently. I hope that some day i can meet you , Hal and the rest of the BWB gang
Well done Lee, Nice reflection on all of us!
Very well done, one of the best I have seen. Thank you!
The production quality is amazing. T.V. like. 6'3 black living in Brooklyn NY. usually on UFC, Boxing and ESPN videos. This was a interesting change. Thumbs up.
Speechless, great job lee.
VERY well done Lee !! I really enjoyed it.
Tracking..... I choose the spot.... it's my pace... my success... my failure.... my memories!! Like minded!
What a great hunt! Beautiful Buck and just love how you presented the story of hunting. My first deer hunt was at The Forks in Maine. Just love Maine.
Perfect to watch before going to Maine next week to do some tracking myself! Gets the motivation flowing! Great video!
this was awesome, thanks for sharing, keeping the Maine traditions alive!
Great to see a well filmed and artistically created deer hunting video that captures the essence of the hunt...free of the canned product placements and commercialization. Makes me want to grab the Remington BDL 30/06 and Army surplus jacket and hit the PA mountains like I did when I was younger.
Fantastic. Rangely isn't but a hop and skip from where I grew up hunting the woods. Cold, snowy mornings reminds me of the Johnson wool and wood stove at camp
Just found this video. Salute to ya! When you said "it doesn't matter if your knees hurt or your back is sore..."
I ground hunt like this in Southeast Kentucky - walking in, playing the wind. In all weather conditions. Got a tenpoint at 15 yards in archery - gave me the full sneak stare down for 7-8 minutes. When he turned after some does, that was all she wrote!
Appreciate you effort here!
This is excellent ! I really like how you show all the different angles of how much work goes into hunting when you are determined . I come from that same breed where it’s in your blood and we put in a lot of effort to succeed and wouldn’t trade it for the world 👍
Like it, loved it. One bad ass hunt. That is hard core hunting. Hope u have many more. Please film and post more.
I run that same rifle 30-06 and 270. He took 3 shots surprised me. A good day out
Have same in 30-06 , Williams peep site , painted with red nail polish then coat of clear ( thanks to the wife ) put an orange fiber optic front bead , I’m left handed and finally sent it to have left hand safety and Timmins trigger . Can’t wait for this season. 75 yards 5 shots offhand 3” group
This is great. stay after it with all the grit and passion it takes to succeed .... i know you will
id hunt with you any day lee that was awesome we need more videos like this just pure soul hunting not one indorsement love it
Awesome job! I’d like to see more of this stuff.
You end the hunt the way I end the hunt.
I love heart, especially deer heart.
I think it's the best part of a deer, as far as flavor and texture.
That is how I end my deer hunts, eating his heart.
I enjoyed your hunt, and like your hunting technique, I chase bull elk down just like that.
Lovely. Thank you for making this. 🙏
