Just so everyone in comments knows, I was completely joking around the whole time. I’ve played with Dylighted in the past too. If he ever posts my dirty mono play on him, you’ll see me “less depressed.” Also, there’s a difference in speaking up and advocating your case/others decisions as well. Dylighted always talks about speaking up to help control the narrative.
I was also playing up for the viewers since it’s not fun to always see the same thing so figured I would play up the sad thing a bit too. Did end up having a play in late game too.
Also, we talked after the game as well. I know Dylan talked about feeling bad and I’m totally cool since we all play to win and would hate if he did something just since he felt bad.

idk why but when the music comes in at the end and he lists every roll he could hit to win it’s literally the best feeling watching and holding your breath with him. excellent play and superb videos!!!

Very nice game and i'll say off top, I COMPLETELY stand by your 2nd settlement and plow play at the beginning. Kelly would've had a monstrous setup otherwise and the fact that he stayed competitive throughout this game despite this play proves it. With nearly uncontested expansion spots, arguably the best ore-wheat-sheep setup (with ore that almost never gets blocked), a convenient 3:1 port, and starting with every resource type? He was set to become self-sufficient much earlier than the other players and completely steamroll this game otherwise.
In any case good game, you scared me a lil at the end when you didn't connect your roads but it worked out. Looking forward to more of your content going forward!
The one lesson I learnt from this is: be careful of adjacent tiles that allow your opponent a free road to plow you off at the start of the game
Yes this is completely right. I left him the potential plow which was more than valid. The rob after the plow though was questionable since he had it in hand anyways. I tend to play the self-sufficient setups since I'm a pretty stingy trader. I also know that Dylighted tends to get more trades either from others so I intentionally wanted to play around that as well. - KellyC

I was orange this game, I agree my setup was difficult to play but it could've maybe worked with a bit more time. My idea with taking 2 4 9 second was to play more of a city/road game with the best ore/wheat in the game (after building to 6 2) and having the coordinated roads. But road woulda been difficult anyway so was kinda stuck just trying to pull for vps or monos in the end. Plus that mono you pulled was REALLY lucky lmao....
I also agreed you had a tough setup but I saw what you were going for. You ended in a tough spot come mid-game I think. Good game and nice playing with you. - KellyC

I don't think blue was being serious about being mad. Guy's a National Champion Catan player. I imagine he knows what it's like to be the biggest threat on a board and have people do what they can to win against him. And he still played it well, so I'm pretty sure he was just playing up the butthurt.

18:56 just curious (not sure if my line of thought would be correct) but why not trade 3 brick for wheat build road to the 9/12 wood or the 6/12 sheep/wood then connect road after if needed? personally i kinda like the idea of the 6/12 :D but im a bit of a noob so genuine question.
I always love the plow, my favorite move in Catan. It can really destroy you competition.
