His win condition was nothing but 10s and 11s rolling for the entire early game, 4:1ing enough to get to the 2:1 grain harbor, and then nothing but 8s rolling for the entire game. I would say he easily had a solid 1% win chance with his immaculate placements.

I think blocking 6 ore is better than 9 sheep. 6 is a good roll for you. 9 is a disaster, and mitigating that by preventing a sheep for blue is weak. And 6 one more pip for blue obv. And blue will be blocking your own 6 ore, so better to block his ore production while you have the chance. Also, you have position on blue, and he built away from the 3 1, so he's actually not that good. Black is better with 3 1 and ore port and maybe even road.

Most likely a guesstimate from 1000s of hours played.
Guesstimate. Catan has too much variance in rolls, steals, player decisions, etc. to be able to calculate win % based on starting position.
