Those little steps are called "library steps”. In England anyway. It’s so you can reach books on a higher shelf. The long handle is so you can move it around. Love your site!! Tina

That piece you thought was a changing table is actually an antique washstand. My grandmother gave me one like it. A large ceramic or porcelain pitcher and matching basin bowl were kept on top for washing up before sinks came into existence.

    • @Komponents

It is called a “dry sink.” There was one in our kitchen when I was a child (and I’m 72 now).

It’s a washstand for putting a bowl and pitcher on and was used in a bedroom. A dry sink was longer and actually had a ‘sink’ in it, it was used in the kitchen , originally.

A butter paddle is used after the cream is churned into butter. Put the lump into a bowl then use the paddle to keep turning the butter (like kneading) to push all of the liquid out. If you do not the butter sours quickly. It would display nicely with a churn and wooden bowl. I love old kitchen gadgets!

The brass " cardholder" towards the end is a cigarette and matchbox holder, ( I collected tobacianna for years). When you became so excited about the Scandinavian candle holder I had to chuckle: so very dangerous to shop with friends! It IS gorgeous.

I bought a wooden cupboard similar to the one you’re going to flip in Medford OR at Collectors Market. The tag called it a wash stand. Mine has the old, small wheels on it. I’m thinking it would be at the correct height for a large wash pitcher and bowl. ~Cathy

I love that you see things and re-purpose them Laura. The library steps of course can be used as a book or plant display. The butter paddle, think they usually come in a pair, could uniquely display butter at a meal. The wash stand would make a great hall table etc...just because something was designed for a purpose doesn't mean it can not be used as something else. Loved this video. Your filming is amazing and consistently great quality ❤

The Swedish candle holder has exactly 4 candle slots - as this for the Advent candles. Advent starts 4 Sundays before Christmas and you lit 1 candle each Sunday until the big day comes. You put it on your window sill or on the table and you only lit one candle at a time....Fantastic trip and finds

Hi Laura, the stairs are for a library. Depending on how tall your library shelves are/were determined the size of stairs you would need. The one you picked up looks smaller, but what an awesome deal you found. Also, anytime you find wax on an item, just put it in the freezer for 30 minutes the wax just pops right off.
By the way, you are by far my favorite person to watch on RUclips. You are fun and exciting, and you mix it up for us. I also love that you are so open with your viewers. Your husband seems like a great guy, and it's nice that he joins in from time to time. I have been watching from the beginning. I am glad you went your own way and followed your dream.
You were supposed to be the quiet mousse girl in a shell. Well, Darling, I am so happy and proud that you broke out of that shell and took control and charge of your own future. You have come a long way. I hope all your hopes and dreams come true. Keep honest and kind and doors will continue to open for you and your husband. Blessings to you both.

Celcius basically is 0°C is water freezing (so ice snow etc, very cold anything below is cold obviously) 100°C is water boiling temperature. Anything from 30°C-40°C and over is very hot for weather temperatures. 0-10°C is like winter. 10-30°C is often more comfortable:-) i hope it helped at least a bit haha

I think if the bottom of the pineapple has a hole it is like my pear, you put apple cider vinegar in it with a couple drops of Dawn dish liquid to catch fruit flies. I don't use the top on it when trying to get the little buggers. Let me know if there is a hole. I got mine off QVC. They also had a store at our local strip mall but they closed with Covid and they never returned.

I meant to tell you all about the butter paddle, but I see a bunch of people beat me to it! Enjoy watching you shop. Can't do much of it myself anymore cuz it's so hard to get around.
