Every kid in high school should be required to watch a Springsteen concert from 78, maybe it would be the spiritual eyeopener, that it has been for alot of us.
That thunder in your heart at night when you're kneeling in the dark, it say's you're never gonna leave her But there's this angel in her eyes that tells such desperate lies And all you want to do is believe her… Bruce is as good at the words as he is at the music…
I wasn`t even born back then, but I loved this man and his band since I was 12 or 13 (early 90s) and I still do to this day. And I feel so grateful I had the chance to see him live several times, first time when I was 19, last time just two months ago. And I hope it wasn`t the last time.
One of the greatest, underrated live songs by BS/ESB, and God, do I miss the Big Man! Doing his dance w/ the maracas until he blows the roof off the Capitol Theatre! I thank the Lord above I was at all if these hows in '78!
You guys are very lucky. I saw two shows in Atlanta about a month later, and a third at Winterland in San Francisco on 12/15/1978. My memory of these shows has faded. How lucky we are to have the Internet and RUclips. Otherwise, those lucky enough to have experienced these magnificent concerts would be the only ones to have even fading memories of them. Rock doesn't come across well on TV. It's best live and LOUD. Still, these videos provide hints of what some of Rock history's greatest moments were like. And make no mistake. Bruce Springsteen in 1978 produced some of the best rock & roll that's ever been or ever likely to be.
I watched this and realize I'm smiling ear-to-ear. Clarence blowing that sax like it's nuthin' I saw them play this show in '78 at the Capital Center. I've seen a thousand rock shows since then, nothing else out there has ever compared to Bruce and the ESB, not even close.
The Capital Theater! Didn't get a ticket to this one! The Capital shows I did see would wow you! The best stories from getting tickets, parking, walking and scalping! Love my NJ!!!
He was still broke for years after this tour- in debt actually. Didn't own a home and never owned a new car till 1984 or so. He could have made many millions by selling videos of this show during concerts along side the T shirts, etc. that concert goers bought.
How to make a simple rock song an epic. Master class. And one of 20 he did that night. James Brown, Nick Cave, Iggy Pop, Fee Waybill, Joe Strummer, Johnny Lydon, Trent Reznor, David Bowie... I've seen a lot; never saw nothin' like da boss.
Everytime I listen to the music, it's always like the 1st time, I get discouraged by his political views, sometimes but, damn I, can't say anything about it, he's the boss, I don't care what anybody says!
Because he needs to SHUT THE FUCK UP and sing/ play. His politics suck. I grew up w/ his tunes, Would YOUR ASS like to debate ME? Let's do it. What's wrong w/ his POLITICS???
It is a sexy song. I loved this Girl. Long hair falling. She wanted to be friends. Later she wanted to be more. Before that happened, she was killed in a crash. All this happened over 20+ years. What could have been.

i’ve seen in 6 times ❤
took my otherwise uninterested 16 year old son to see him in MSG 04/01/24 and now he loves him.
Nothing like this. And there will never be anything. Like this. Pure all out rock and roll.

this is not even one of his huge songs and it blows away anything else others are doing. it is amazing
Nobody, I mean nobody has a better time playing music and entertaining his fans. The Boss!!
If you don't love this video, you don't like rock and roll.

Hey nadine yup you took the words out of my mouth I now listen to him everyday as iam home getting ready to start my day OMG WHAT MOTIVATION❤❤
Ah, those were the best days!
My best friend's, then, little girl called him little Bruce.
Dear Clarence, I miss you so!
😢😢❤❤
The 78 shows were just astounding. I'd even pay to get a full show in that grainy B&W film.
I just graduated high school, and I would blast his albums the whole neighborhood could hear it and you know what? Nobody ever complained

So did I. It was magnificent, over 3 hours.
Me too!

@@CPSJSMSUUMUGA ciao Amico!🙋🥰😍😘💘
This is face-melting rock n roll with the Bo Diddley beat at it’s highest level. Greatness!
Matt Murphy The beat lonnnnnng predates Bo Diddley. He appropriated it and brought it to “popular” music.

Yep!
He did 3 shows in a row at that theatre- two were videotaped and one of those two was broadcast live on the radio.
I was fortunate to have great seats for two of the shows. I could walk to the Capitol from the house I grew up in.....
Great shows!!!
The greatest performance band in the history of recorded music…period.
Are you kidding me? This is the sickest Bo Diddley beat ever.....

This is nuts!!! So great. My new favourite song!
Bruce n band are going on tour in 2023. They will not be going across the U.S. Good luck. 💝💞
this is how rock is done
There's a missing Not Fade Away/Gloria intro to this that has the most awesome jungle guitar solo I've ever heard.
Che meraviglia questa versione!!!😅😅😍😍😍😍😘😘🎸🎷🎶🌟💯💯
See you soon Bruce on Europe 2023 tour!🎖
The guy's fucking amazing!
Imagine 3- 4 hours of this for (at the time) the price of an $8 ticket.
I saw this on bootleg nearly 30 year ago it blew me away still does

"Are you ready to get hit!'
Atlanta GA Fox Theater 10/1/78. Unbelievable……
Saw him in 1980. They didn’t do ‘She’s the One’.
This is tremendous!!!!!
The song is OK, the intro perfect, but what amazes me is the rithm of Clarence C and Max W.
Full throttle TIGHT anarchy !!!!
かっこいい❤めちゃめちゃかっこいい
The BOSS is THE ONE!!!!!!!
Thank You.
Incredible! Always loved this song, but never dreamed I'd find a clip like this! The best I've seen in a while.
seen the Boss 11 times between 75-84. my idol.
One of my not-faves, but it's a masterpiece.

Finally realized its yet another Bo Diddley rip. Love it still. Like Hand Jive.
He said he wrote it so Clarence could have something to riff over.
wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Stone Poney was a good gig.
I miss the Big Man.
WOW!!!!!
All that's sacred comes from youth
great
It makes me so sad that THIS GUY died.
Me too, Clemens was one of a kind.
It's no wonder he can't stop playing ....WTG you guys.....
Is the CAPITAL Theater in Passaic NJ
Questo video è a dir poco stupendo!!!! Oh she' s the one!!!!!!
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🎷🎸
Great version but still slots in just below the '75 Hammersmith Odeon for me.
Sexiest moves forever!

Yes, was there that night !!!
Do you know what location/date this was in? Was it the town of Passaic or another location in Passaic County?
+Steve Lubot I've seen this clip elsewhere and seen it identified as the Capitol Theater in Passaic
+ace19428 thank you!
+Steve Lubot The Capital Theatre in Passaic. Perhaps the greatest bootleg of all time. Tremendous quality and set list. It's pretty easy to find.
Steve Lubot And it’s the 19th or 20th of september. He performed a whole week there if i’m not mistaken.
Steve Lubot I’ve got the complete concert of the 19th on mp3 cd.

don't care about his political views, but he is a good musician.
You mean the same views as the majority of Americans?God man just stop
Is not the sexiest song ever!!! listen to it over and over "guys"
It reminds me of what they said about Jim Morrison. Sex on a record.
It is a sexy song. I loved this Girl. Long hair falling. She wanted to be friends. Later she wanted to be more. Before that happened, she was killed in a crash. All this happened over 20+ years. What could have been.
I just don’t want that loud organ to come in.
