How to make a simple rock song an epic. Master class. And one of 20 he did that night. James Brown, Nick Cave, Iggy Pop, Fee Waybill, Joe Strummer, Johnny Lydon, Trent Reznor, David Bowie... I've seen a lot; never saw nothin' like da boss.
I wasn`t even born back then, but I loved this man and his band since I was 12 or 13 (early 90s) and I still do to this day. And I feel so grateful I had the chance to see him live several times, first time when I was 19, last time just two months ago. And I hope it wasn`t the last time.
Every kid in high school should be required to watch a Springsteen concert from 78, maybe it would be the spiritual eyeopener, that it has been for alot of us.
That thunder in your heart at night when you're kneeling in the dark, it say's you're never gonna leave her But there's this angel in her eyes that tells such desperate lies And all you want to do is believe her… Bruce is as good at the words as he is at the music…
He was still broke for years after this tour- in debt actually. Didn't own a home and never owned a new car till 1984 or so. He could have made many millions by selling videos of this show during concerts along side the T shirts, etc. that concert goers bought.
I watched this and realize I'm smiling ear-to-ear. Clarence blowing that sax like it's nuthin' I saw them play this show in '78 at the Capital Center. I've seen a thousand rock shows since then, nothing else out there has ever compared to Bruce and the ESB, not even close.

Ah, those were the best days! My best friend's, then, little girl called him little Bruce. Dear Clarence, I miss you so! 😢😢❤❤
That tiny Passaic theater...with the best sound anywhere. B&W shitty video...and I'd watch this over anything.
WOW!!!!!
The greatest performance band in the history of recorded music…period.

Nobody, I mean nobody has a better time playing music and entertaining his fans. The Boss!!
Is the CAPITAL Theater in Passaic NJ
I just don’t want that loud organ to come in.
かっこいい❤めちゃめちゃかっこいい
GLORIOUS! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You don't know Bruce if you haven't seen him live. Nobody, but nobody does this.
Nothing like this. And there will never be anything. Like this. Pure all out rock and roll.
great
If you don't love this video, you don't like rock and roll.
"Are you ready to get hit!'
There's a missing Not Fade Away/Gloria intro to this that has the most awesome jungle guitar solo I've ever heard.
I miss the Big Man.
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🎷🎸
He did 3 shows in a row at that theatre- two were videotaped and one of those two was broadcast live on the radio.
I was fortunate to have great seats for two of the shows. I could walk to the Capitol from the house I grew up in..... Great shows!!!
Saw him in 1980. They didn’t do ‘She’s the One’.

i’ve seen in 6 times ❤
took my otherwise uninterested 16 year old son to see him in MSG 04/01/24 and now he loves him.
Holy lord ...pure power !!
I was at this concert, if this song doesn't get get your blood boiling then nothing does.....
The 78 shows were just astounding. I'd even pay to get a full show in that grainy B&W film.
This is tremendous!!!!!
My gawd. What *GREAT* rock & roll.
Atlanta GA Fox Theater 10/1/78. Unbelievable……

this is not even one of his huge songs and it blows away anything else others are doing. it is amazing
I saw this on bootleg nearly 30 year ago it blew me away still does
I just graduated high school, and I would blast his albums the whole neighborhood could hear it and you know what? Nobody ever complained
Bruce n band are going on tour in 2023. They will not be going across the U.S. Good luck. 💝💞
Great version but still slots in just below the '75 Hammersmith Odeon for me.
See you soon Bruce on Europe 2023 tour!🎖

Sexiest moves forever!
Incredible! Always loved this song, but never dreamed I'd find a clip like this! The best I've seen in a while.
Was there that night !
It makes me so sad that THIS GUY died.
Me too, Clemens was one of a kind.
Thank You.
