- (Updates and corrections in the description) The Zombies Chronicles DLC gave us eight faithful remasters of older maps, but not everything is as it was.

I've decided to add a list of things I either missed or got wrong. I've tried to credit all the people who brought them up in the comments, but I apologize if I missed anyone.
Kino Der Toten
The projection room is shown on the screen in the original version, but was harder to see on consoles (gavcobob, Group-935, danny2896, Superball01, daemonvanmeir9697)
Zombies now climb onto the stage (TryHardCompany, ComaAlpha)
Moon
Easter Egg quotes were removed (kirishima169, Pinyaps, aviewer774)

Spare change easter egg does not work on the Pack-a-Punch (happytoyou6857)

John Rizzo had a friend go into the files for the Panzer on BO3 Origins.
It has, I kid you not, a 90% resistance to all bullet damage, 50% resistance to explosives, and 50% further resistance to all damage directed at the power cap while it’s on. That’s absurd, and explains why it practically requires a staff in BO3 to kill.
However, the devs forgot to program this resistance onto the RPK since it was added later, making it extremely effective if you get one from the mystery box.
The Panzer also sprints on BO3 origins after knocking off its face plate, which it does not do in BO2 because it’s reusing the Der Eisendrache AI. The increased movement in BO3 probably justifies this change though.

I feel like the increased movement in BO3 would justify the change until you remember that the mud is worse in BO3 Origins (at least from what I can tell).
You can reliably kill them with the Haymaker or Ray gun weapons
I think most of that is because they're expecting people to utilize the Gobblegums in an efficient way. If you have the right gums and the RNG falls in your favor you could easily get the wind staff and ready to place it in the crazy place in round one.
The staffs make up for that resistance imo
The comms in Moon were such a nice touch. Loved being able to hear everyone’s quotes even if we were far from each other lol

The thing that really bugs me is removing all the little details that didn't affect much in the long run like Richtofen's alternate outfit. A lot of the quotes when progressing in Easter Eggs just seem to be absent too, especially during Moon.
The gameplay oriented stuff that bothers me is the removal of dodging zombies and old weapon wallbuys when they're still in the game and I get that the BO3 weapons are weapons you need to upgrade but they just lack that punch and power the old guns had. The Sheiva is terrible compared to the M14 and it's still in the game! You just can't get it as a wall buy anymore.
I absolutely hate how the Olympia and M14 are in BO3 but they're not wall buys in BO1 remastered zombie maps
I still miss the WaW flamethrower and PPSH.

I like chronicles, but all these changes are the reason why i play the original maps on the original games. (Except bo1 version of waw maps as they did an excellent job keeping the waw feel of the maps in bo1, especially keeping the waw wall weapons.) That's the biggest thing i didn't like about chronicles was not having the og wall weapons. I only play chronicles when my friend wants to.

I really do not understand the fear of nazi imagery
Nazi imagery is banned in Germany. In fact the BO1 version of Kino also had all of its Nazi imagery removed similar to the Chronicles version. I assume they didn't see the Nazi stuff to be aesthetically important enough to warrant making 2 versions or exclude Germany as a market
What’s funny is the descriptions for the maps still mention Nazis by name, as does Dr. Monty in his radios. Also in BO4, Primis Dempsey calls Ultimis Richtofen a Nazi.
@@jocastadidntknew5980 Does it do it in the German translation? Maybe the translated version doesn't have these references? Then again, I'm not German so I have no idea if mentions of Nazis like these are within the boundaries of the ban or not.
It’s not about fear, it’s more about making the game easier to sell in countries where such imagery is against the law/socially taboo.
Rather than create a “censored version” they just opt to remove potentially controversial imagery from the core game.
It’s about money, basically.

Heres a niche one you probably didn't know
When the dlc first dropped the starting 1911 was still the mr6 and all the quotes mentioning mustang and sally were not included
Until a month later the 1911 was available as a black market weapon in multiplayer which advertised the change by adding zombies themed camos for you to buy for a limited time
The 1911 and mauser were added to their respective maps and the quotes were readded
I knew i remembered the MR6 on remade maps
the mauser was always in bo3 origins, it's just too iconic of a weapon to not include from the beginning, specially since you get the boomhilda when upgraded

And somehow the BO3 M1911 is more disgusting and worse than the MR6. That game had some of the worst sound design ever especially on guns and the designs for them.

Something else about the Wunderwaffe in Verruckt is that the character quotes are cut quotes from Kino since it was originally supposed to be in the map.
And the PES animations in Moon are changed from its original, where the animations were recycled from the campaign level Rebirth
On moon, they also removed the water in the middle of no mans land that slows you down, and gave the hacker new spawn locations
On origins, while wielding both an upgraded staff and elemental fists, your melee animation will now be the animation for the staff even though youre doing elemental fist damage, effectively buffing elemental fists with a shorter animation. Also the glitch where you can obtain souls for the airstrike grenade while holding youre riot shield has been patched.
On kino, all of the swastikas have been replaced with iron crosses
The water on Area 51 in Moon is still there.Its just transparent and not dirty and muddy like in the original.
7:05 you can still grab the bowie knife with the air still inside. the issue is that the bo3 engine has really weird fps bugs and if you are at too high of a framerate then you don't jump as high. cap your fps at 60 and you can still grab it
Many games do that. It's an fps thing with engines, GTA games, for example, also have such bugs with different framerates
@@drmedick sometimes physics or whatever are not time based (as they should) but framerate based which causes these things to happen
I guess it's a lot harder to tie everything to time rather than FPS, especially considering the main appeal of these games isn't competitive gaming or high FPS, why would they ever think of going out of their way for that?
@@chknnugt it's all because IW and Treyarch used the ID Tech 3 engine from Quake 3, and have been building on top of that engine ever since. That game had some (at the time) good tricks up its sleeve to improve performance back in 1999. Because of complicated math this caused odd behavior at certain framerates and the code is pretty deeply embedded into the engine. Every single CoD game suffers from having legacy code from this engine (not just physics, but also security exploits).
@AzureTF Yeah, isn't that why RCE was a huge issue even in BO3 up until recently? the same engine was used for all their games, so the code carried over very easily

My biggest gripe of the Chronicles maps tbh is the fact it uses BO3 weapons. They just don't fit at all.

@@HighTierGaming123 They already remade a lot of them through the Black Market anyway lmao. I'd even be fine if it was just the BO3-spin of the weapons. That's why people were begging them to put the 1911 as the starting pistol on Chronicles maps instead of the MR6 since it was already in the game, so I'm glad they eventually patched that in after release. I'm surprised they bothered to remake the MP40 tho when the HG40 already existed and is nearly identical.

In BO3 Origins, players will no longer be able to place down the shield. Pressing the shoot button will simply result in a shield bash.
Additionally, the Easter Egg song "Shepherd of Fire", had its volume fixed.
Both the red radios for "Shepherd of Fire" and the Generator numbers for "Aether" now play the activation sound effect when interacting with them.
The Boomhilda was changed to fire bullets more akin to sniper rounds, as opposed to traditionally firing Ray Gun Mark II rounds. It can also be Pack-a-Punched more than once now.
The timing requires in the "Rain Fire " step has been adjusted so players will no longer have to rush out of the robot to throw the G Strike.
Players can now carry up to 3 G Strikes as opposed to the linitation of 2.
The wall weapons have been slightly altered; there are less duplicates around the map, notably with the MP40 and StG44 only being found in singlular locations. Additionally, the M1927, previously only available in the box in BO2, now has its own wall-buy in BO3.
Snow can now appear up to Round 5, as opposed to Round 4 in the original.
Due to the player movement changes of BO3, players are no longer able to press the jump button repeatedly on the mud; theh must jump and move between intervals to effectively manuever the mud.
The Fire Staff glitch is patched. Players can no longer bypass the "Ascend from Darkness" step by repeatedly placing the Fire Staff into its pedestal.
Some spawns have been slightly adjusted. At Generator 3, players can no longer camp by the robot foot as zombies will now walk up the ramp behind it.
The staffs have received various stat changes. The most notable is the range and weapon spread. Players will now be able to destroy the third gravestone with the Ice Staff all the way from the Excavation Site rather than travelling to Generator 2.
The spare change easter egg, as mentioned in the video, has increased from 25 to 100 points. Thr Pack-a-Punch no longer provides spare change.
Red Dig Spots can be found with Trip Mines in a sinilar manner to Semtexes.
The tank music now only plays if the player is present on the vehicle.
Some discs now appear laying flat on surfaces as opposed to being propped up.
The main Easter Egg Game Over theme is no longer present, and now only the original Game Over theme plays; additionally, the Game Over sequence is now moved to play after the cutscene.
For obvious reasons, the Primis characters now use their updated models from The Giant; Richtofen's hands are no longer bathed in Maxis's blood.
5:55 That’s partially true. Any zombie chronicle map except Origins. The Wunderfizz will only give the play perks that is not from the perk machine. For example, in Nacht Der Untoten, the Wunderfizz will not give the player Mule Kick because a Mule Kick machine is at the spawn room.
I don’t know this at all, cause I gamble on the wunderfizz all the time and get perks that are on the map. Mainly playing Kino and getting speedcola and double tap from the machine
@@Demonix_Heller Unless you’re using mods, I guess it may work. Soda Machine Gobblegum can help you get those perks too since you get an extra perk each time you buy a perk.
I checked multiple times in Zombie Chronicles maps that Der Wunderfizz will only you perks that are not from the machine. If you get all perks from the Der Wunderfizz, it can no longer be interacted with. That’s why there’s no Der Wunderfizz in Shangri-La and Moon because all perks are from the machine. The only map from Zombie Chronicles that the Der Wunderfizz will give you perks that are from the machine is Origins.
Love your videos, but a lot is missing in your cover of Origins - Robot stomps respawn zombies instead of killing them, the Fire Staff exploit no longer exists, the Boomhilda no longer jolts you back anywhere near as far as it used to whilst jumping, picking up a Mauser whilst holding a Boomhilda now replenishes your ammo rather than un-upgrading your weapon, G Strikes last longer (and you get three to my knowledge), you can't prone under the PaP machine to get 25 points like you used to, the fire staff plane part only drops to one location rather than a potential three, the elemental knife glitch no longer exists... The list really goes on, but only us Origins nerds are going to take a mental note of all of these micro changes because we studied harder for that map than anything in our lives let's be honest

Edit: The comment regarding other potential fire staff plane drops may be either be a rare bug or an instance of the "mandela effect" which I am yet to replicate, but the rest is verifiably true.
Those are some good ones, I guess I haven’t played as much Origins as I thought
The fire staff plane part always dropped to one location on BO2 on the PC version. I honestly didn't know that it could drop other places. I played a lot of Origins on PS3 when the map came out, but ever since I've played the map on Steam and either I'm the luckiest player in the world, or it drops the exact same place every time. Out of curiosity, where are the other places it could drop?
@@JohnnyCenter25 it can drop on the north side of the ramp upwards towards the excavation site or it could drop at the top of the hill from the south side (the top of the slope when you buy the door to the main section of the map) then for some odd reason it only got reduced to one.
Also, in BO2 any character model can fit between the tank and the red disk spot at the bottom of the stairs below the church, but in chronicles only Takeo can to my knowledge. Really made me think you might be at a smidge of a competitive advantage playing as him in case he has a smaller hit box or something.
But to get back to your original comment, I recognise the burden of evidence is on me and my best suggestion is to watch speedrunners as they can and have gotten the spots I've mentioned.
@@smugplush Debatable. Personally I play the chronicles version more but if I'm wanting a challenge or want to go for the Easter Egg, sometimes I prefer the BO2 version.
Chronicles fixing the stomp kills is actually the biggest draw to BO3 because you don't get randomly cheated out of crucial points or wind up accidentally ending a round and have to deal with a Panzer that you aren't quite ready for because you're running round building stuff. Plus, a much much smoother movement system, but each to their own.
I don't remember the fire staff part ever dropping anywhere else, and I played it non stop on xb360. I'm not saying that's not correct, just that I must have forgotten
It's really ashame they didn't carry over the zombie animations and behaviour from Kino, Ascension ans Shi No Numa

All the gravity issues on Bo3’s Moon is actually due to Treyarch more or less using their jetpack coding to “fake zero G”

Another difference in moon, in the receiving bay there are large garage like doors that close to pressurize the air in the room once the power is on, they however do not change or close at all in BO3

Arguably the most important and perhaps obvious changes affecting the gameplay experience, is that zombies do not group up together as well, have the same AI and are effected by the spawn rules as other BO3 maps. This change results in strategies made for the the BO1 and BO2 version(s) being either ineffective and at times unsafe. Double Tap 2.0, alternative ammo types and gobblegum are the other differences that greatest impact on gameplay.
Every day i see your channel in my notis is a good one, as usual you deliver another great zombies video!
You missed some:

- No PHD Flopper on Origins
- No scratched up outfits for Ultimus characters.

He also missed Carpenter being in Origins. It's not in BO2, but it's in BO3.
The verruckt sprinters are very well still there they just have a different animation than the OG. The Bo1 version didn't have it though
3:46 Zombies dont need to be far away for them (but treyarch also uses map specific cleanup scripts IF you are far away) to despawn, as soon as they notice they dont have a path towards player their "counter" will start. What i think happened here is treyarch quickly used spawn zone/player_volume

Other Origins changes:
Arbitrarily cut quotes (Samantha taking to the crew, some killing quotes, etc.)
Storm sounds are either gone or much quieter
The ending song is wrong and the cutscene plays before the ending screen for the EE
The PaP camo is broken, especially the secondary camo which only partially correctly appears on the M1927
The M712's hammer is broken and it shoots much fast, also uses a different sound
Random box laugh is broken
The final step's teleporter's hit detection sometime doesn't work properly
The fist's hitbox is really small so it doesn't work well against groups
Staff melee overrides the fist but does fist damage
Elemental fist is gone
The elemental stones are the wrong sizes (most noticeable with the wind stone)
Some of the lamps don't work properly, very noticeable under the church
The torches are always lit
The staff upgrade sound effects were all changed, as was the beam
Zombie blood quotes don't always work at the right time, staff hints sometimes happen after zombie blood wears off
The Mk. 2 instant death glitch happens a lot in this map (easy to replicate with widow's wine over an incline)
The Past is Dead has been removed
Zombie blood can't be dug up
Zombies don't fall over if they are near the robots' feet
Carpenter has been readded
Fire staff glitch has been patched for step 2
Step 3's time frame is much larger
On a host change sometimes the PaP turns into a gumball machine
Templar zombies sound like normal zombies instead of how they are supposed to sound

it's not even close to the same feeling, i got nothing out of buying Chronicles really. I really wish they brought back the 2-hit till jugg, it was part of the experience.
but i was happy to support bo3 bc i never played it while putting 1500 hours into bo4 zombies, and im aware of how legendary bo3 zombies is, so.

Zombies Chronicles is arguably the best DLC of all time obviously, but I did notice how the Bo1 and WaW maps did lose a lot of the ambience that made them scary, also just having bo3 guns on those maps made them feel bizarre. Still a great DLC tho
Its a great DLC for sure but yeah WaW-BO1 maps got butchered, but Moon looks amazing
I find the Black Ops 3 versions much better. Sure, some old weapons are sometimes included, but overall the new weapons have become much stronger through the double upgrading in the machine. This makes the higher rounds very enjoyable, as you can still actually kill zombies in rounds 50, 60, or 70. Apart from traps and Thunder Guns, since I started playing Black Ops 3 and got to know the Black Ops 1 maps, I only play Black Ops 3. It's just more fun, and the Gobblegums add more variety. I find Black Ops 3 significantly better.
@@thekudonderboss They could've added more classic weapons from past Cod games for weapons you can obtain through the mysterious box like the Python, Crossbow, Springfield or Executioner but I believe the devs were just lazy and wanted you to focus on using the Bo3 guns from the multiplayer which sucks because the bo3 roster of guns only have viable assault rifles, three out of only four shotguns and Lmgs.
@@gspeedy619it has Nothing to do with devs being lazy mate. It was most likely done to cut corners so that they could get out the dlc in time. If anything blame Activision for not giving them enough time.
@@the_seer_0421 That's kinda fair but they've constantly done this from World at War all the way till Bo4 with not having at least one gun from every game which I believe everyone would've enjoyed. There's loads of mods that allow you to use all the regular weapons ever included into Cod Zombies which I think a lot of people would've paid for if they made such an option paided dlc
One thing in Natch is there's two EE songs now (not including the Samantha one). There's the OG one from WaW, being the Radio in the Box Room, but in specifically Chronicles's version, shooting and exploding at least 8 barrels outside the map will play a song
(Unless this was removed and I'm not aware of it)

For anyone wondering why nacht doesn’t have naturally spawning firesales is because firesales only naturally spawn if the box has moved and nacht’s box can’t move

At least you can dashboard to save your gobblegums unlike bo4. You can get dozens of perkaholics just by playing the game (or you can play on PC and get unlimited GG's for free).

There's a change I hate on Moon. When you teleports to the Moon, you can still take hits from zombies when teleporting. It's especially annoying at the begining of the game.
I've never seen a channel that is able to make short and concise videos consistently. In just 8 minutes you covered tons of changes that others would have spent 5 times longer to go through. If you ever do decide to make longer videos like @northwind115 suggested, then I'd be all for it, but honestly I'm more impressed over well written and to the point your videoes are.

In bo3 origin if you shoot off Panzers visor, the visor piece is still the green V from der eisendrache when it drops it 😂

some other changes for origins: the zombies won't die when stepped on by a robot, or get stunned when they're nearby a footprint like they did in bo2, they also won't die when you run too far away from them. the foot openings also seem trickier to shoot in bo3. there's also ofc the boomhilda ammo glitch (not even sure if it's a glitch or deliberate) but in bo3 a dug up regular mauser will restore all boomhilda ammo instead of giving you the gun which is very neat. the boomhilda also doesn't resemble the raygun mk2 when shooting it as it did in bo2. in bo3 you also get 3 g-strikes instead of 2. you also can't dig any more zombie bloods from the dig piles in bo3 which kinda sucks if you're trying to get extra perks the original way.

Just like with the ascension wunderfizz, all chronicles maps with a fizz machine apart from origins will only give perks where the machine for it is not present on the map (e.g. kino fizz will only give you widow’s, stam, and deadshot)

Great video! Here are a couple additional changes I noticed. Firstly, in Origins, you cannot get Zombie Blood from the Dig Spots on BOIII. This makes finding the Golden Dig Spots to get Extra Perk Slots take more time because you are limited to Zombie Bloods from drops and the Fire Wagons easter egg. Secondly, on BO Ascension, there is a limit to the number of free perks you can get from the monkeys. Even though I successfully protected my perk machines many times in a row, I could not get more than five perks, which was the number of perks originally on the map before they added Mule Kick. I wonder how the coding works for that, probably checks to see if you have five perks and if you do, no free perk for you even though there are six total. In BOIII, I think there is no limit but I haven't fully tested it.
one you missed is they fixed the bug on origins for the easter egg step where you have to place the staffs in the giants heads being skippable by taking a staff and placing it inside the digsite podium and being able to remove it and put it back 4 times to skip the step

Something I noticied because I used to play a lot of Moon on Bo1 is in the receiving bay on Zombie Chronicles it doesn't close the blast doors that are facing towards the bio dome when the power is turned on, neither does the red spinning light turn off in receiving bay. In Bo1 this door gets closed when power is turned on. Also in Bio Dome the launchers yellow lights do not turn off in Chronicles when they turn off, although the audio cue still plays. The QED also has lost a lot of its abilities like being able to spawn more QEDs you can pick up, or GERSCHS and spawning red power ups like red max ammo where if a zombie picks it up it will unload your current magazine like in turned.
While Moon got the best visual improvements, they did appear to really lose a lot of the little things on it.
this game came out 9 years ago and ppl are still making content for it, you know how badass this game was

There was a bug in Blops2 Origins that I believe was fixed in Blops 3 that actually made the Easter Egg way easier. On the step where you had to put each of the staffs in the corsponding robot, you could just place the fire staff in it's spot and remove it 4 times and the game would consider the step complete
1: They changed the sound of the panzer siren in Origins to the same on DE
2: They added music on moon when the rockets are heading to earth called 'The end is near'.

2 changes I actually loved from came on moon. The animation change for actually putting the helmet on instead of just reusing the gas mask animation from the Blops 1 campaign.
The other is the redesign of the map to match the design of der eisendrache. It made the map look way more interesting, fit the lore better as a Nazi moon base build in the 40s, and went full circle with how der eisendrache connected to moon.
I think for the Chronicles version of Origins upon completion of the Easter Egg, it plays the normal game over song as opposed to the Easter Egg one.

another noteworthy change in kino: the zombies can now hop onto the stage on both sides of the turret. in BO1 they could only hop down from there. that means now there is a chance that you'll try to jump down from there and you'll run into a zombie climbing up onto the stage.
You forgot that for Origins, they changed the sound that Panzers make when they spawn in. They only use the original one from BO2 if they fly up into the air and relocate onto your position I believe. Also, the first Panzer spawns on round 8 instead of 7. The time window between pressing the button in the robot and throwing the G-Strikes onto the seal is also a lot more forgiving in BO3. You can also no longer place down the shield like you can in BO2.
There's also a couple details that I understand being left out because they're more so glitches than anything, but there's at least two things that changed:
1. You can no longer skip the step of placing the staffs in all the robots as easily by just grabbing and placing the fire staff 4 times. It can still be skipped but it's much harder to do.
2. When getting kills for the G-Strike stone in BO2, you could shoot a charged staff shot, bring out your shield, and it would count any kills while you had the shield out as melee kills. This no longer happens in BO3, as it was patched.

Was the green smoke from the invisible nova crawler spawner on the original kino? i dont remember ever seeing it. Pretty sure it's just a bug and if it is, it's crazy that it's still in the game after all this time.
After completing the Moon Easter Egg in Chronicles, the Nuketown Zombies mushroom cloud becomes visible from Area 51. It's such a cool detail!
Also, the Earth shows the TranZit glow before splitting apart.

I've been playing Origins on BO2 and BO3 a lot lately and noticed the snow was a bit overwhelming in BO2, but seems to be less noticable in BO3.
Easter Egg quotes on Moon were also cut.
They also removed a ton of the Moon quotes that were referenced in Black Ops 2's Nuketown Zombies, a feature I was not thrilled for.
When talking about origins you forgot to mention how the ice staff was changed from the staff of water to the staff of ice
Staff of Water is a cooler name.
The ice staff was always called staff of ice. It was only the staff of water in the pre release chronicles footage

I believe the Panzer soldat in origins is harder to kill because it uses the black ops 3 gun specific resistances, things like the brecci and haymaker do way less damage to the panzer, however DLC guns like the rpk don't have this debuff because they were added later, hope it helped clear that a little more 🐄👍

Something else weird is in kino there’s a glowing bowl inside the bar case in spawn but it’s only visible if you crouch. Idk if it’s a glitch or if it’s some unsolved ee but it’s bugged me for years. Why is it there?
