COD Zombies is a game mode that has played close to my heart for the past ten years or so. It still remains great, but there is a specific variant that I feel is the number one best out of them all.

I know that you're sponsored to say this, but "fast paced" and "action packed" is not what the gameplay seemed to suggest. It rather suggested "sometime you get in fights, but move really slowly. You'll find people every so often". Not a criticism, but rather a note that I enjoyed thinking about
@@theogrist2348 as a player of the game it depends on your fightmech, if you are a scout you will get shot at first and will be a melee fighter almost, support and attacker are slightly slower but damage better and tank is literally that you fight with the heaviest weapons and armor but you are almost immobile so it depends my man

I LOVE that map and everything packaged with it. Like everything to the setting, to the story and then the mother fucking Ray gun mark 3 shows up and omg it’s SO GOOD to shoot.
And that horde aspect when you go to the house to upgrade your weapons

Still relevant. I don't give a shit about probably half the games he covers with the exception of fromsoft titles and his uncharted series but still tune in to every video and when I have the opportunity, live streams.

Playing and watching CoD Zombies content always gives me this weird cognitive dissonance because on one side, Call of Duty Multiplayer and Singleplayer has struggled for years to become something positivly outstanding and remarkable when it comes to storytelling and gameplay. Not necessarly calling these things BAD but the amount of CoD games that are unremarkable between the really good ones is just so weird.
Meanwhile the people responsible for the Cod Zombies experience give me the feeling that they're eating cocain for breakfast in the studio and manage to create some of the coolest things out there during their drug rush. Cool maps, cool and diverse mechanics, storybeats, weapons.
I don't know how big that team is but I can not fathom how Activision hasn't let these people make a stand alone game already. Easily a billion dollars right there.
Agreed, it feels kind of embarrassing saying BO3 is one of my favourite fps games of all time when i'm just referring to the zombies mode, the singleplayer was a mess, the multiplayer was fun but goofy as hell in my opinion. The main director of BO3 left treyarch and formed a new studio, so i'll probably follow that just to see what craziness they'll come up with.

Although I really enjoy Cold War zombies gameplay wise, BO3 is still my favourite just because of how unique all the maps were aesthetically, the great characters, and of course zombies chronicles.
The great thing about bo3 is it has the best of both worlds when it comes to Map selection. You have new maps and classic mops, complex like a shadows of evil but then simple like the giant the some of the chronicles maps. Something for everyone whether you’re a casual or hardcore fan

Bo3 is definitely my favorite zombie experience due to map selection and progression. Bo1 was my first and will always have a place in my heart. And Bo2 holds Mob, the best map ever.

Well Custom maps certainly can help with missing Mob of the Dead, since people have gone through and remastered it. Yeah, it's not 100% perfect but arguably the mechanics are better with black ops 3's smooth movement. Oh yeah and there's a bunch of other custom maps that are insanely high quality that are still coming out to this day.
Chronicles is unironically the best zombies experience period.

As someone who has been all three types of these players at one point or another starting with casual and ending with hardcore this resonated with me so well and I can't believe you were able to put it into words
What i adore from BO3 is especially all the og maps of WoW, BO1 and BO2. It's so nice to have all of them in one game, easy to play if you want to one night
I didn’t know that Bricky liked cod zombies. I have probably over 3000 hours over cod zombies in the past decade not including dead ops arcade. Cod zombies is easily my favorite game of all time
Bricky I absolutely love zombies and Origins is also my favorite map (Mauer is coming up I really like it) and you’re outlook on the mode is so different from so many community members but also so similar. Keep up the grind

I remember spending hours playing Der Riese with my brother and 2 friends in our bedroom playing split screen. Our 360s would be boiling as we were on waves in the 40s mowing down hordes with 4 upgraded MG42s on that one catwalk next to the teleporter.
PS: The Beauty of Annihilation trailer is still awesome.

Lest we forget that one of the things people enjoyed Black Ops 3 Zombies is that they allowed custom maps a la World at War zombies, which made people like BO3 Zombies more
Black Ops 3. The hands down best zombies ever made. The standard maps, the dlc maps, the custom maps. Legit God tier. The campaign, awesome. Multiplayer, incredibly fun. The professional scene, untouchable. That time period on RUclips was INSANE for each and every option somebody wanted to watch.. My favorite all around cod game to date. People didn’t realize how good they had it back then until the newer games came out. Now we all want to go back to 2015.

Definitely the best cod zombies so far, especially with all the dlcs. Der Eisendrache prob my favourite map as well
I personally prefer bo1 but it could also just be the fact I grew up with it and have waves of nostalgia every time I play it, it also has the HK21 which is my favorite gun from cod history period.

Taking the bus as an 10 year old with the boys being chased by hundreds of zombies in black ops 2 is a memory I won't forget
After playing zetsubou enough I just got used to the set up and I found it was worth it for the feel of that map. Just every easter egg, weapon, boss zombies adds to the feel and every location is unique
Panzer chasing you down the muddy tank track is probably the most stressful thing I’ve ever been through.

Not to mention BO3 on PC having modded maps will always make it a top tier CoD for me. I do love WaW for zombies and the campaign, but their magnetic grip is something I don't miss.

Man do I remember when JCbackfire & Jason Blundel announced Zombies Chronicles, we all thought it was fake, it was a meme...then the video dropped and man it was so fun to hop back on the OG maps.
I just think it's kind of crazy that I still think this is the best lookin zombies to this day:)

My favourite zombies is infinite warfare. I love the themes and style as well as the Easter eggs. My favourite being zombies in space land playing as David hassle holf

Blacks old 3 is 100% THE zombies experience, some of the best maps ever such as Der eisendrache and shadows of evil (after launch) and all the community made maps like leviathan as well as the classic maps brought back through that dlc I don’t remember
BO3: it peaked for Zombies, which is only more shown off when every game after it was bad, so it just made it look way better even

Even if CW lacks personality, CW’s gameplay is just so much faster and easier to get into. You can jump in loaded up, unlock pack-a-punch, and just enjoy yourself. No need to spend an hour setting up or deal with tedious garbage. That’s pretty much CW Zombies as a whole. Zombies expedited. While that may upset hardcore fans, I’d say for the casual and average player it’s more enjoyable
As someone who played since waw, I personally enjoy cw the most. They took all the things I didnt like in og zombies, made the gameplay really smooth. And made the easter eggs fun instead of hours of pain. The maps in cw are kinda meh tho... Compared to all those really cool maps from ogs.

Mad respect for your acknowledgment of the mob of the Dead map. That is my second favorite zombies map of all time 1st being OG Die rise) super fun super underrated and looked really good back on the 360.

As someone who has been a hardcore fan since BO1, I dont even consider Cold War Zombies the same game. I played like two matches on die machine and immediately recognized that it wasnt the same game I fell in love with
BO2 was my favorite game with zombies I'll always remember me and the boys ruining our friendships cuz one of us activated the train too early and left the rest to die

I've also been a fan of CoD zombies for many years and its such a great community, it feels entirely separate from the regular Call Of Duty fanbase. Solving Easter Eggs, guiding new players through them too, hell one of my favorite video game achievements ever was playing BO3 Kino Der Toten and getting to Round 100 for the first time ever using the Thundergun Galil combo. Zombies in Call Of Duty almost feels like an entirely new game, and I'm so glad I discovered it all those years back.

A criminally underrated map is buried from black ops 2. That map is pretty easy to set up, has some pretty basic (although mandatory) mechanics, and it has some Easter eggs as well. I’d recommend it if you’ve still got BO2 kicking around.

I'm a zetsubou lover..... But I understand why it's not as liked. I love the adventure feel of it and the atmosphere is unmatched. It's fun to become efficient at it. Great vid tho always love the zombies content

BO3 being the best cod zombies game isn't an opinion, it's a fact.
Right? You can start round 1 with all perks and all doors opened and a pap weapon. I don’t like a challenge in zombies, I just want everything handed to me while I enjoy the lackluster fantasy alien snooze fest that is the story. Oh and I love sliding at super speed around the zombies so they never hit me cause once again. I don’t like a challenge in zombies. Lmao BO3 is trash and started the downfall for zombies.
I know right! I especially liked the part where the developers put a gun against your head, made you select the 5 most gamebreaking gobblegums then made you walk to the gobblegum machine on round 1 every single time you played the game. Especially since no matter what gobblegums you use, it is physically impossible to have all of those things at round 1 at once. I also hate that ZWR has distinct, competitive categories for megas, classics, or no gobblegums at all. I hate that the zombie movement speed as well as hit speed was buffed so every single time you get cornered you're dead instantly as soon as you get touched once, unlike in older zombie games where you have time to switch weapons, pull out your thundergun and be safe immediately. I also hate navigating the maps swiftly with the best movement mechanics ever implemented in a zombies game, minimizing the amount of time spent backtracking or getting from point A to point B. Who ever thought that was a good idea? I prefer the good old days were the maximum zombie running speed is slower than my walking speed. I also hate that they evolved the story from a generic gritty world war 2 conspiracy to massively developing the character of all 4 of the main crew and finally give explanations for lots of unanswered questions, because I'm too manly and grown up to have "aliens" in my call of duty zombies game with the magic potions, magic chalk drawings and magic weapon roulette crate. Room temperature IQ.

Never knew bl3 had all the original maps. Back then I could only play shadows or evil and I had no clue what the hell I was doing in that map😂

it's very interesting that you find freedom to be an important ingredient in the mode.
I never thought of it that way. Even though I often play the same way, I'm still allowed to play MY way.
Freedom does not necessarily mean replayability (only in combination with the creativity of the player), BUT
it means more people can enjoy the content in some way (their way).
That said, I personally love custom made challenge maps, that are very limiting and somewhat infuriating.
I wish the original treyarch maps would offer incentives/modes like e.g. the first room challenge or no perk challenge WITH leaderboards
for hardcore players who are not interested in doing easter eggs.

BO3 was fantastic but BO2 had Nuketown Zombies and that shit was my jam.
Man BO3 is still my fav cod, both as multi and zombies player. I was learning on BO3 and damn I loved those maps, Der Eisendrache is still my favourite of all.
After tryharding al BO3 when I got to BO4 I felt like “bruh wtf is this”, I had completed most stuff solo on BO3 and could even do shit on Blood of the dead. It was just too much weird shit. I completed the mansion and greek map solo but thats it.
Then there is CW where you follow instructions by pressing interact on X or Y place and 3 steps more on yt and you are on the bossfight. I understand it being easier, but for me that loved both high rounds and the EE, it lack any sense of challenge, lost replayability for it being too easy for the EEs.

I like the gameplay of cold war but as Bricky said the maps are just so Booooorrrrriiiinnnggg!!!. And that is why Iove bo3, the maps in bo3 are full of personally and the gameplay is fun and the story is straight fire.

Bo3 lighting is just out of this world
I personally believe there 4 types of players. 1. The casuals (storyline doesnt matter they just want easy power, perks and box wonder weapon) the higher majority of players and deserve at least 2 maps to play on. 2. The storyline heavy and lore loving players, makes up a good average base and comes in degrees of skill. 3. The speedrunners who spend game after game optimising and praying to RNJESUS. 4. The high rounders, storyline? Take it or leave it, they just want the best round on all maps and typically dont care for learning all easter egg steps, only the ones that benefit high rounds
I had an ex friend try to get me into zombies via BO3. I loved old school zombie as a survival challenge. Granted he was very passionate about it but jesus christ he was going a mile a minute with slide jumps, hit combos for points efficiency, weapon unlocks, easter egg finding, etc.
Meanwhile I am just sitting their like a child with an M4 duct taped to my wittle hands saying "can i shoot da zombies now?".
