Really cute and fun!!!!! Love the pattern mixing and details. Where you accidently cut the fabric with the serger fuse a bit of interfacing on the area making sure that the cute edges are together, it will help it not rip further down. I also fuse interfacing on any corners where you have that inset bodice, so when I cut into the corner after stay stitching the L shape it is stabilised. On big curved pockets I do an interfacing and understitch it to help reduce the bagging that can happen. xxxxxxxxxxxxx
The pain, the pain!! I think anyone who has ever sewn a ruffle has had to undo large sections for the same reason, I know I surely have, sigh.... More than once on the same skirt and on more than one project. Your dress turned out lovely. I so enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing. 😊
I've also done exactly the same serging, fixed it with a bit of fabric glue and fine fabric on the back. Love this dress, one of the nicest gunne saxe I've seen.
This is so pretty! I really enjoy having long nails while sewing, it helps poke put corners and I don't know what else but I guess I've had them for so long I don't really think about it any more. I really love the design lines of this dress
I absolutely ADORE your dress! The dog fabric is just darling and it looks fantastic paired with the peppermint. You have fabulous Christmas spirit and I am here for it!!!
How cute!!!!! And on the mistakes...it happens. There are those projects that are a breeze...then there are those that seem to wobble from beginning to end! False nails....I like them but I can function in any that are too long. Around 1/4 inch is all I can handle and still be useful. ...living on a farm. I'm currently enjoying the dip nails one does at home. I'm not adding tips but dipping my natural nails to strengthen so I can grow my nails longer. I find this method much less damaging to my nails. I hope you a happy holiday season, Dear Casca! And all my love to your family, as well. 🤗
Thanks hun, hope you enjoy the holidays too 💖 I think these particular nails were just too long lol. I'd searched everywhere for fun Christmas ones and they were all I could find. Should have just painted them glittery or something and saved my money 😂
I have been sewing for 20 years and this past Saturday it took 20 minutes to fill a bobbin and get sewing again. Dont worry about mistakes too much, especially if you love the result. 😉
It's so cute, I love all the fabtics you choose. I think the trouble you had with the fake nails is because they were too long. Next time try getting shorter ones and see if thst helps. Btw, they were adorable.
Thank you! 💕 Yeah, I totally agree with the nails. I went on a hunt for Christmas nails and they were the only ones I could find. Super cute but way too long.
I found fake nails ruin my real nails, and there's just no way I can work anything with them on. I just keep my nails short with some fancy indie nail polish (if you want to know brands I use just let me know). I find it also protects my nails cause my natural nails are really thin and split easy. The dress turned out super cute!
Thanks 😊 Yeah, I find that I'm a bit better with acrylics but they are super expensive. The press on ones though I just can't do anything with them on. I think they make the thumb too long on them.
Personally I think fake nails are only an issue while sewing (or doing anything else) if you go from one extreme to the other. For example if you have short nails and put long press on nails on it's gonna be a struggle. However, if you have nail extentions and gradually increase the length each time you get them you won't have any issues as you'll gradually get used to them, just the same as if you grew your natural nails.

Thanks ❤️ I'm still not sure how I managed to get so much caught up. I think I'll be sewing my ruffles from the other side in future.
That's super cute! I love how it turned out. And it was nice to watch while working on my own gunnesaxmas dress!
Thank you so much! Can't wait to see yours ❤️
The curly do is a masterpiece!
Also PUPPIES!

Thank you! 💕 I think my issue with the nails is that they were just too long lol. Gonna go with something a bit shorter next time.

Thanks ❤️ Yeah, I think mistakes are just part of the process, you learn from each one.

I totally get that. I think these ones were a bit on the long side, especially the thumb. They did look pretty though.
