Dude, your channel is SO horribly underrated. You should shut all other paint channels down imo. This is the one stop place for everything paint. Here before 1 million.
I've messed around with rattle cans for liveries and gimmics on ratty drift cars for fun, my friend asked me to paint his drift car but with guns and real paint. I said yes and a day or so before we were ready to start I got the feeling I was in over my head. I binged a handful of your videos the night before and it turned great for my first total respray.
I just want to say I had a nasty scratch on my rear bumper and decided to grow some balls and fix it myself with no experience. This video helped me so much man. Hands down the best video on this topic on the internet. Thanks alot guys.

I really appreciate the fact that you make a concerted effort to annunciate your words properly! I absolutely enjoy your style of teaching. I have been planning a paint job on my old truck. I am overthinking the job.

Thanks Brian for the help, I am fixing up my late father’s car, and the bumper sanding helped me a lot. I just do it by hand because I don’t have air power. Those K sanding papers are awesome.
I bought the starter kit, and some other grits months ago on your recommendation in this video. I just used them for the first time yesterday, and I have to say that Eagle Abrasives sand "paper" is amazing! It cuts quickly, evenly, and doesn't clog up. I will be buying more! Thanks!

Watched this video quite a few times and really starting to understand a lot more about the sanding required. More confident about respraying my car next year just to learn how to do it
Kovax is really a game changer. Haven’t tried it in prep, but in removing dirt it’s the best than the typical wet p1500 that leaves a lot of scratch and is hard to buff
Thank u sir for sharing the knowledge of this work..U r a master..Sir pls share more good ways of easy sanding methods..its most difficult and technical part..need lot of effort for this work..more and more new technology and methods should be invented for sanding purpose..

Ok, I watched the whole video. Not an expert on the European “P” & “K” but you did a good job of explaining the results. I see PSA sandpaper and hook & loop, not once did I catch either term used to describe this system. The cost of sandpaper goes up and the “K” series will be more expensive due to intellectual properties. I have no choice but to use PSA paper, I also understand the reason for an “Inter-Pad” of 3 cushion values and results. I find the hard nibber set interesting as well. I seen the short-stoke sander used, in other videos, to reduce the orange peel or get rid of it. I have limited funds, but will find a Short-Stoke sander, as bad elbows only get worse. This is a complete refinish on my vehicle, but will have to use PSA and the best coatings I can afford. Also, no mention of the filler but would guess it’s Evercoat. Trying my best to do it right once. Chemical strip (Bought 1 gal per visit 5 years ago before it doubled and the Methylene Chloride was reduced/take out of others), epoxy seal, filler with a mix of polyester gazing/honey for better sanding, less clogging. Always used a folded coat hanger with rubber hose handle to clean paper. So what filler? PSA or not? ASE Master for decades but back, elbows had surgery. What my son doesn’t take, my wife throws away. Only 62, I guess it’s not the age, but the miles. Any info on products? Thanks.

Hi, thanks for all your tips its very useful to me but I have one question, what should i do if the previous painter have paint a door more darker than the original red paint (its darker) and the clear coat start to peel. What should I do please can you make a video for that. Thanks a lot
Hey Brian, great video, Lots of information and love your content. Wanted to know if you can make a video tackling a key'd door or panel and seeing how step by step you would tackle it. In a DIY fashion. Appreciate you , keep up the good work 🤙
When wet sanding clear coat. Doni need to take all the clear off before I can prime, or can I just the rough edges and make sure the whole area is Evenly wet sanded. Then I can prime over everything?
When painting the plastic bumpers and like ground affects, is there something you put in the paint? I thought I heard about using a flex agent in the paint to prevent spider cracks if it's bumped into... 🤔
1977 olds cutlass, would you recommend taking it down to bare metal ,or just to primer or even that far?.I have repaired and small rust areas and for the most part the paint is still good just lower quarters were bad and door dings.
This was excellent, it was extremely helpful. Now do primers: epoxy primer, urethane primer, primer sealer, high build up primer, etc. Makes my head hurt.
I'm wanting to get my 86 blazer painted but after watching alot of your videos I think I might try to paint it myself (I have never painted before so I will probably mess it up lol) but you explain everything perfectly man keep it up!
can u explain the steps of the paint condtion was good on a hood or bumber start till 400 or 600 grit and that’s all ? Then ready from primer ? Then what grit do u use after primer
Today we changed from 3m sand paper to mirka. I gotta say I am blown away by mirka. I'm a paint prepper and I sand down all day. And one paper of 800 on clear coat will sand down 2 panel and a half. as to 3m p800 I would have gone through multiple and sand papers. Y'all should go try mirka and you will see what I mean. Paint bonus here I come 😁
Thanks for sharing such a great video. Do you think that the Kovax block with a 3k grit can get rid of water spots that has gone through the clear coat? And if I polish it then it would be OK?
I guess my main question is how do we tell when we need to sand down to metal and/or when to stop sanding? I'm working on a project car (yes, I saw your Civic project vid) but when I sanded it down to rid of the clearcoat some areas exposed metal whereas some areas exposed primer, and ripples (weird). I was left with high and lows, primer, metal and ripples yet the panel felt smooth. I started with P220, P320, to P500. But mind you the metal areas were exposed while sanding with P220. Really odd. Anyhow, did I sand too much? I have other panels to sand down but don't know when to stop or rather just how far I need to sand? Your help is greatly appreciated as always.
Could I ask for your opinion? I want to repaint my c5 corvette myself. I will be applying base coat and clear. I have not sanded the car yet. Could I use 400 grit dry sanding of the whole car to take off the clear coat and then apply my base coat after? I'm wondering if the base coat would cover up any scratches from the 400 Grit or should I dry sand with 600 grit then apply my basecoat? I would be using a DA for this. Thank you
I used a 80 grit to remove layers of paint , I went to primer without smoothing my surface metal first, I went to sand my primer and I can see all the scratches from a lower grit, Should I go back and re sand ? Or add more primer/filler to fill the scratches ?
Thank you 🙏 so much for that video brother and keep sharing your knowledge with us bro much love all the best in the next one ☝️👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👊👊👊👊✊✊✊✊🙏🙏🙏💪💪💪💪💪👌👌👌👌👌🚗✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨😉😉😉😉😉😉😉💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯

Question on rust repair... what is the correct method to tackle this issue... i have a roof with surface rust, i ground it out and applied a rust inhibitor but the next step im unsure of... what primer would i apply if bondo is needed, and what primer if no bondo is needed... thanks... base coat and clear coat follow if im correct.
