Thank you so much Jef for these demos and reviews. I watch these mainly for your great presentation style and all practical application tips, I find it very inspiring and my appreciation for how you do a deep dive into these virtual instruments and still keep it short and sweet ! Thank you !
Jef great video. Can you make a more comprehensive video of maybe making a brief song with some Jef tricks? Would love to see more on this new product. Thanks. Matthew
Hello, I love your channel I recently downloaded vocal synth2 and I’m having some trouble understanding how to get it to function in the machine, software in midi mode specifically the talk box mode. Is there anyway you could give me an idea? I believe the problem is hooking my midi up to the VST3 and my microphone at the same time in machine so that I could play what I’m saying on the keyboard?? It’s probably very simple and you may get it right away but I don’t have an overview on all of this yet. Much appreciated. Thank you.
To clarify your confusion at minute 2: After dragging a pattern, you're not supposed to delete the included pattern keyswitch midi note as you did. The muted backbeats etc. are part of the pattern itself, not visible in the regular midi notes. Still, you can select the generated midi notes (above the keyswitch note) and move them up or down to create a different the melodic phrase within the given rhythm pattern.
Hey Jef, How do you shoot the moving camera shot like at 3:04? I know its not music related but your video production is top notch, definitely deserves more views! Amazing helpful videos, looking forward to more!
This sounds good. Question:I invested in several Uvi libraries&instruments and I'm not happy with them. I don't like the sound of the presets etc. I was sold on the sound quality being as good or better than kontakt libraries. But that isn't true. How do I deal with buyers remorse for vst instruments?
Yeah that's always tough... I've been using a lot of the UVI stuff recently, finding lots of good stuff for synth sound design. Everyone's needs and expectations are so different... Not sure if you can re-sell/transfer their software but could be worth looking into.
@@jefgibbonsfor what it's worth, I appreciate what you said. I don't see resell as an option. How could I sell someone something that doesn't sound good to me? That would be an interesting sales pitch. For instance, I bought the Toy Suite, which I was completely jazzed about. But it sounds terrible. I got a $100 voucher from buying falcon 3, and after the April sale it cost me $179 instead of $399. How unhappy would I be if I would have paid full price? The library could have been so cool. If they had treated the project with more respect it could be so much bigger, if it would have sounded better. The dreamer in me wants it to have samples voices and phrases from Disney movies and songs, Sesame Street character samples like Elmo and Cookie Monster, and video game samples like Super Mario Brothers and Sonic the Hedgehog when he loses his rings and etc... lol. All royalty free with instrument purchase... yes, I'm a dreamer... 😆 🤣 😂
It sounds great, but I am missing the opportunity to have some round-robin samples for a bit of variation. Some of the melodic lines just sounds a bit 'sampled' and sterile. Please bear in mind that I do use sample libraries myself, among them NI's Session Guitarist, which is a very versatile and great-sounding instrument - I mainly use it for developing ideas for solos, which I then play on a real guitar. ;-)
I did find the round-robin thing a bit lacking here too, but a subtle velocity change does trigger new samples from my ear. So there may be more emphasis on velocity laters than on RR...
Nice, I'm always on the look out for a good upright bass sound!

Great overview and demo. Sounds great and really useful pattern functionality. Thanks!
Most welcome!

Been using the bass from the Cuba Kontakt instrument, this seems like a nice upgrade.
I didn't even know there was one in there! I'll have to check it just for fun...
That's been my go to bass since it dropped!
I used the cuba bass recently and this one is a true upgrade

Beautiful Osmose song🌚🖤🎶
How are your light guides showing with Kontakt 7? Last I check it's only available via Komplete Kontrol.
Which sound use for the last lead solo? Sounds very fusion. Love it.
I’ll have to get back to you!

Hey Jef, what Mac setup are you using?
M1 16” MBP!! I love it…

Mic issue?
how can you play this upright without using the patterns? I want to play it in real time.
figured it out.
@@StephanieSante I haven't figured it out yet....
Well if you can eat you out in the comedy tone at the very top end of the spectrum it might start to actually sound like a double bass
Sounds like your lav has gotten away from you.
Yup… That’s the Power of Lav…. Or the lack thereof…
@@jefgibbons nice Huey save.
