I never forget to visit this hotel during my India trip. No matter how many hotels come up.. the food offered here is soulful.
Some Mangloreans in Bombay are selling fish and chicken cooked in yesterday's saaru ghassi. Which has fermented nicely in hot humid Bombay weather.
Sometimes you can see the cars of the rich and famous parked outside the hotel, ac on, as the occupant gulps down the delicious fish and chicken cooked in ghassi!

Just as advertised.. we ate at this hotel just before Christmas… amazing quality… the Bangade (curry) was so fresh.. we also had bangade and tharle fry… the guy serving the food had so much energy and he genuinely welcomed everyone..it felt so nice! Thank You!!

When I visit mangalore next time, I will definitely visit this iconic place.
One of the best home made foods. Especially for fish curry/fry rice. Moderate price. Used to go there during my college days in the early seventies. Still visit there whenever in native place.

There is a similar hotel in mangalore...which is about 60 years old...it's near mangaladevi temple in monkey stand....do visit the hotel..it's a hidden gem.

Our people back in Hospet were very adamant about returning back without overnight stay at Mangalore.I dont know why.
