The cello at 3:04 will forever be my favourite part of the track.
It really gives the sense of how much the world has fallen and the heroes are there to witness all of it.

Sometimes I find myself just sitting at the Crossroads listening to this track. Absolutely mesmerizing.
i passively listen to it a lot because it takes a while to look at everyone's quirks and picking the right path
I know if I still really like it after recording and mixing then it should resonate will people.
It's really one of the most beautiful tracks in the game.
Although I don't think I've ever lingered at the Crossroads intentionally... Trying to figure out new comps holds me there for a long time already :D
I started playing DD2 about two weeks ago and soon after I started, I was searching for this theme on the Internet, but it was damn hard to find, because it exists in many different versions, with different intensities, and here I am, with this amazing tune delivered right under my doorstep! Thanks a lot

I have been very patiently waiting for this track to officially drop and i am finally rewarded after 2 years! Definitely my favorite, alongside the menu theme. Excellent work as always!

I find my self humming this tune once in a while, a nice song to get stuck in your head.

Am I allowed to ask how many more DLC's are being planned?
There are many more things coming. MANY. I believe they’ll be new stuff dropping over at the next four years! Some of the DLC will be bigger and will have a small fee but like the original game, you’ll be able to grab all the DLC and soundtrack in an affordable package.

Sweet! I didn't expect such a private question to get that kind of answer! I loved the Shieldbreaker DLC in the last game, so if Red Hook is looking for fan feedback, I would recommend more stuff involving the sands of the East, mysterious desert warriors, and nightmares from the past.
Anything you guys make will be good, though, I'm sure.
I guess I have a bit of a dilemma then. Do I get Darkest Dungeon 2 now, or do I wait a while to get a discount on the pack?

I firmly believe Darkest Dungeon as a series would not have taken of nearly as much as it did if it wasn't for Stuart Chatwood's music. It really compliments the vibe so well
Absolutely fantastic! One of my favourites by far! Driving after dark with this blasting from the speakers is an unforgettable experience. 4:35 always gives me goosebumps, I wish I could learn to play the guitar just for that part, so that I could keep repeating it over and over.

That riff at 4:34 is incredibly memorable. This song overall puts me in a nostalgic mood every time I hear it. It reminds me of playing Torchlight 2 back in 2012 because Matt Uelmen's composition also used acoustic guitar and had a similar oppressive gloomy mood.
Hauntingly beautiful and hopelessly ensure you to fight this maddening world.

Would it be possible to upload the quiet version of this soundtrack? The one that plays when visiting a location during a region (Hoarder/Academic's Study etc.). It's the best variant of the soundtrack IMO.

@@kamilslup7743 Cultist fight theme is definitely A tier. I just don’t like it quite as much as the motif used in the inn and main themes

Is it just me, or does this sound ever so slightly faster than the version we get in-game?
Should be the same.
This game couldn’t pull me in the way the first one did but the music is phenomenal regardless. Fave part for me is 3:04 to 3:46
I have a few favourite moments in this track but the cello hitting the melody is perhaps my fav as well.
Wonderful Stuart! The game feels so much more alive with you as it’s voice. I can’t think of any other game which’s ost is so good it’s a main reason why I’m excited for dlc!

I Love it, i'm wondering if they are going to add more areas to the game, i know they game was already released and at this point red hook studios is just releasing patches but i would love to see new areas and of course hear new ost.
patches? we just got the 1st DLC mate, which brings back crusader, adds a new hero and adds a new miniboss

New DLC in December and more DLC planned for the next number of years. No one is abandoning this game. Like the first game it will continue to grow.
Im pretty sure this song is effected by light levels, does anybody know where i can find the low torch vers?

Is there a way to access to this soundtrack's 'low-light' (lower than 50 flame) version? There are some tidbits of it in this video, but not quite the 'full' version of it. If you go on my BANDCAMP page you can listen to track 11 the-winding-valley-complete. It contains all levels of intensity (flame level). PowerUp Audio would have seamlessly blended these depending on you progress. If you buy the track the quality is superior to the Bandcamp free preview version.

Which area does this music come from?
"The crossroads, a place beetwen places"
This is the main exploration music. The full version is 26 minutes of different intensities.
@@StuartChatwood I think the 'medium' (second?) intensity variant is the best! When I first started the game and heard it right at the beginning, at the crossroads, I just remained on the spot, stunned for a few minutes by the music. Unforgettable!
