    Cannabis potency is 100% genetic. You can improve your environment to get the most out of a particular strain, but you cant turn average pot into super pot with any nutrient. The plant can only be as strong as the genetics allow.

      @smigger-lfc 2 месяца назад +1

      Well said my friend genetics is where it's at you can have the best set up and nutrients plus water and still produce shit cannabis, I've seen it done but strong genetics and a solid set-up guarantee some danky dank 😊

    Silica's primary benefit to Plants is that it replaces Calcium for structural growth.
    So that basically means more of your Calcium is going to other things, like developing a larger pith for nutrient delivery and ultimately bigger flowers.
    My favorite form of Silica is Calcium Silicate. It's easy to chelate with Citric Acid which removes the Silica from the Calcium.
    The calcium becomes Calcium citrate which is highly plant soluble and Silica becomes Silicic acid, also chelated for your plants.
    This is much cheaper than using Monosilicic acid based fertilizers as Cal Sil is a higher volume by weight of the two elements per the cost. Most Monosilicic acid supplements are mostly water. And by the way, a lot of pH down solutions contain Citric acid, but I'd recommend pure Citric acid or even Vinegar (forms Calcium acetate) to maximize chelation.

    • @TonyisToking
      @TonyisToking 6 месяцев назад

      Citric acid and Vinegar will also chelate Calcium and Silica sources in your soil, by the way. So if you're using Diamtamaceous Earth, Gypsum, Lime, Rice hulls, Volcanic rock dust... Organic Acids are your friend. Sulphiric Acid and Phosphoric Acid lock up your micros. This is actually why microbes kick ass. They produce Acetic and Citric acids to break down organic matter. Fun fact, most Citric Acid for sale is cultivated via fungus, not citrus.

  • @smalpree
    @smalpree 3 месяца назад +2

    I use RAW branded products - I don't have any issues with products dissolving and staying in solution. If you want big huge buds and not need to use Yo-Yo's or nets, Silica is the answer. In Side-By-Side comparisons I had plants with weaker stems without silica and ones with Silica were solid and stiff. Silica is also used to isolate infections or injuries that can compromise the plant and make it vulnerable.. The plat uses it to build walls around the compromise and cause, then crystalize it basically trapping and killing the infection.
    And I have not needed any fungicides or insecticides since I started silica and boosted CO2. I find an occasional dead bug on a yellow trap, but no more swarms of gnats like I would sometimes get. That has stopped. I haven't touched any fungicide or insecticides in over a year now. Some have expired without being used even.

      Silica is probably the most important single source of raw material for the development and density of stalked capitate trichome glands , of which - Tetra Hydra Cannabinol delta 9 ( and other cannabinoids ) is contained in the trichome head and is the plants natural defense mechanism against elemental and environmental factors the D9 thc concentration isn't necessarily increased but rather the layer in which it manifests ( stalked capitate trichome glands) will become better developed, as it too will thicken in accordance with cell wall density .

    It's absolutely necessary if you grow in harsh environments with bugs, we find plants using it actually are pretty damn hard to kill, the only downside I find with it is it may make it harder to notice big infestation early, the plants don't seem to show the telling signs of bugs as well but under leaves inspection will keep you in check.

    Silica can be used as a structural element. Let's say that plant has 100 particles of carbon and 50 of silicon. It can use them to make a cell wall so that te carbon may be used somewhere else, creating cannabinoids or terpenes which are 80 - 90% carbon in mass.

    Food grade Diatomaceous Earth is readily available at most nurserys, feed stores, even some grocery stores. It's a great addition to our human diet, as well, especially if you're Veggie/Vegan, though it is made from the discarded exoskeletons of Ancient(millions of years old) bugs.It's also quite plentiful with no major environmental side effects and it keeps essentially forever, as long as it's dry.

    I actually use silica in my grows. It makes the braches of my plants really hard. If you're lst-ing, you have to bend them branches like on a daily basis because they become hard rather quickly. You won't need a trellis net to support weight when you use this product either. Branches become strong enough to support heavy flowers in my experience. I've been using Bulletproof Si by Cutting Edge Solutions.

    Yes Sir. You can use green carbons like ferms to put silicon into outdoor soils. Its hard to get deep enough pots indoors for anaerobic soils to break silica down. Tap roots seek out moisture. Tap roots seem to like anaerobic soils. Tap roots will grow around sewage and water lines. Look at spring houses where trees tapped the spring. Think about how bog wood gets mineralized. I use silica because its in the sweet dolomite cement. But have lots of silica in outdoor soil because glacial out wash of ground limestone.

    I used silicone first time for plants and other websites etc say; You can feed whole life cycle, but I prefer it way u say it; through veg period and 1-2 first weeks of flower makes more sense to strenght stems because I don't really want my buds be filled with silicone. And it shoudn't make myccorhiza job harder(?), but I think its better to not give silicone first week of plant life while its making its basic roots if you got mycorrhiza, but perhaps on 2nd week you can give silicone to strenght out roots too. So far so good, I come back to this comment after 1month when I harvest to see results. (Oh and I'm growin in coco coir and it was recommended me to add it and growth techn liquid silicone should work totally fine with other growth techn nutrients even with same feeding)

    What makes me sad is that I have to grow myself even though it is a lot of work, and time. But ALL the legal dispensaries I have been to in the last 5 years, the quality of the products, from raw flower, to vapes, total garbage. No smell, bad taste, mold, everything you can imagine. Oklahoma market is the worst I'v seen but the other more mature markets like Colorado are not like they were when recreational went legal in 2013. Most of the bud in colorado when it first went legal there in 2013-2019 was some TOTALLY AMAZING bud, Terpines so strong, I could open a 7 gram jar for a few seconds and the ENTIRE house would REAK of the smell for hours. And the blueberry strains REALLY smelled like blueberries, pineapple express was the craziest sweet pinapple smell plus dank weed combined, it was amazing, the high was incrediable. Now if you want some really amazing bud like that, I guess you have to grow it yourself. So SAD that the legal market can't produce good weed anymore because of greed.
