Fort Mercer as Arthur in Chapter 2

Reaching Fort Mercer as Arthur Morgan early in Chapter 2. Went for the sombrero hats but it is very difficult to aim at the enemies and stay behind the carcass shield at the same time. This is on Patch 1.16. At least i was able to get a compendium update since some people have said that the Flaco Hernandez' mission didn't update the compendium for them on previous patches.

I did this on keyboard and mouse before using the buggy and I will try again soon with a controller. I find it way easier to do with the buggy once you actually develop a strategy. mine was to head to the side entrance with the gatling guns all the way on the rock and clear out the del lobos on the top. then, rush in spamming dead eye painting any del lobo you see. then the rest will just rush to you from the other side of the fort, allowing for easy pickings. you gotta be very fast though because if you're too slow, they will mount the gatling guns and turn you into shredded cheese. it's also possible to clear out gaptooth ridge entirely and get the turtle shell trinket, but it's very difficult. you gotta clear out the del lobos outside with the buggy, then pick up a corpse (better with an animal carcass) and use that to block the sniper shots so you can kill the ones in the cave.
