- Hello folks! Today I will show you my new restoration project. This old rusty knife was founded at a flea market. It's good long knife for kitchen. The knife is badly damaged from rust and bumps. Let's start to restore this knife.

First, I removed the old broken handle from the knife and used rust remover. Then as usual, washed, oiled and dried it. Due to the fact that the geometry of the knife was, it was necessary to change the shape of the knife and at the same time not to change the functionality. Also, I made a new bevel for the knife.
After, I used iron chloride to etching the blade. I chose mahogany wood for the handle of the knife. Brass and aluminum pins. And sure, I made a test for you. I hope you will enjoy this knife restoration video. Thank you!
Sincerely, Alex. Thanks for attention!
Good luck and health to everyone! With best wishes, Alex!

Nice project. Considering how often you restore knives maybe it would be worth building your won sharpening station. Few simple diy designs out there and I would enjoy seeing your take on one.
Very beautiful restoration on this kitchen knife. The handle came out perfect.
Yummy Salad. I love salads.
Enjoy your tea and enjoy your weekend

Now that’s a knife. Greetings from Australia ✌️🇦🇺
I'm glad you're recovering
And like effect, collage and illusion ☺
That rug really ties the room together.
I'd use that to cut brisket and hams. Looks like the perfect slicer.
Great restoration on the knife, the salad really looks good.
Hooray - new Screws & Tools video! ✌🏻🎨☕️
Thank you! ^_^
Very great job👍,... but I'm a bit perplexed about the supper with onions, garlic and lemon tea🤭 Greetings from North Italy

Excellent restoration 👍👍
Very good educational video. Great job friend.
Craftsman and chef! Always good to watch your content!
Thank you!
Now that's a knife. Looked like someone had been sword fighting with it! Always great to breathe new life into old tools! I'd really like to see a knife holder/organizer for all the unique blades you have restored and still missing that two component paint!
I had thoughts of making a case for a knife, but there was very little time. Thanks for attention.
beautiful handle on this one

One of your better finishes! Really nice job!
Love seeing you cooking after your restoration. Please never change it 😊
You can always find old knives like that at older relatives homes. They just need a good cleaning and some new scales, for the handle.
Very good friend. Hugs from Brazil.

Greatly 👏👍
Yes, the rug. I thought I had clicked on Lubuskie Cleaning by mistake! Good job.
Well that seems to be a knife from a time long ago. It's getting hard to find a big knife like this one that doesn't have a serrated edge. Thanks for sharing. Love the cold salad. 👍😁🇨🇱🇺🇸
Are serrated knives somewhere so common? We rarely see them.
@@Arskanbooki here in the USA, you can't hardly fine a sharp knife without the serrated blade,.
I'll have to work the magic jump into my routines. Must be good for leg strength.
Good job 👍 amazing
...lookin' good, nice job, stay well..
I really appreciate your videos. simple, efficient, without any expensive tools,
Thank you so much! ^_^

Great job again .what time is dinner ? Lol😁
That knife is tasty too.
6:33 my favourite bit
The bottle was a smart idea when you were grinding!
Nice repair on the handle with glue and saw dust.
I made this salad and it was delicious! Thanks for the inspiration, oh an of course a wonderful restoration. I really think this was a good one ❤
I'm glad to read this! Thank you!
Great video, as always. Your work seem simple, but involves quite some thought and manual labour. The editing has improved, and now you show some super skills. Always enjoyable
Thank you sir! ^_^
Great job and great to watch! Love the handle design you chose and also great to see a full whole salad test at the end!
Great work! The new handle design looks way better
Great resto. The knife turned out really well. Well done!
Oh! New video! Thanks. Instantly Like!👍👍👍
Great job on restoring that knife. Just curious, but I was wondering where you learned how to do what you do. I enjoy watching you work on the old and possibly historic tools, etc. I was taught by my grandfather. All with hand tools, no power tools. Almost no-one knows how to use a drawknife anymore. Watching you brings back memories of watching my grandfather and him teaching me what he knew. Always look forward to your next project. Many blessings.
Good evening, thank you so much for your attention and story. To be honest, no one taught me, I had a difficult childhood and there was no one to teach me. All I know is personal experience and a desire to learn new things. For example, when I didn't know how to make leather scabbards yet, I read, watched a couple of videos and tried. As the great Soviet actor Yuri Nikulin used to say: "Be self-taught, don't wait for life to teach you!". That's how I learn everything myself, if possible. Good luck to you and good health.
I love these videos!!!
🍻🍻🍻
Thank you so much! ^_^
vrlo dobar! super!
0:18 ... and I thought a flying carpet. 😜
The salad looks very healthy.
great project, your skill level is on the up an up! 👍
Great work. That knife is almost too long. I wonder what its original purpose was.
You should consider making a fixture to hold your sharpening stones. Then you could clamp it into your vice and free up both hands.
Good service as always, but what about the cooking channel?
While in thought. There are problems that need to be solved.
You knives always turn out super nice. Also your food looks tasty!
Have one made in Prussia I'd like restored.
Good restoration mate, and a good healthy meal also! Please continue...
Thank you so much! ^_^
