It wasn't until Ramlethal showed her why the emotions she came premade with are important that she started to value that idea and aspire to live up to it. Well, I never expected this marriage obsessed girl to go into a rebellious faze of heavy metal. But, I’m all here for it. Elphelt Valentine is a very interesting character; being made from Aria’s soul and becoming a Valentine makes her very interesting. Now, I don’t know much of her lore or what her theme is trying to say, so if someone can enlighten me, I’d appreciate it. But, what I can say is that she is a fun, hilarious, and has very rich character. Especially with her arcade showings of mistaking Nagoriyuki’s brushing her off as proposing to her while Faust is fully supporting them both. I love them all and I love her. She’s just a little guy. And her theme showing off her more rebellious gaze with the heavy metal implications along with her wants of pure love injected in. It’s just so beautiful and, once again, it’ll get the stamp of approval, aka the certified bop. Also, to anyone reading, you’re awesome and it’ll be okay!
I always love seeing people say this, because it means you get to tell them "I can tell you what a Gear is, who the Guilty one is, and why", then see if that person wants the short version, or to fall down a 7-paragraph rabbit hole.
@@marcfyre whenever someone asks me if I want the short version or want to see them ramble about their smalk hyperfixation I always choose to just listen to the 3 hour explanation of lore, it's painful having no one to share your interests with.
We may stumble, fall, and never know where we’re supposed to go or where we want to go in life. We could be lost forever, never knowing what we’re meant to do. However, what’s important is that we never lose sight of ourselves. Always be true and love yourself. For we cannot love others (especially one as husband hungry as Elphelt), unless we love ourselves. And besides, it’s important to always enjoy yourself. After all, you can’t say you’re lost if you don’t have a destination.
out of my top 3 songs i go the circle, alone infection, and then extras. I love this song so much. I never thought that I would stop and appreciate the perfect harmony of death metal and an anime intro, but here we are
"Are you brave enough to be a fool?" is just another way of saying "I may be cringe, but I am free" which does not apply to Elphelt because Death Metal Pop Idol is anything but cringe. That said, I love how the most aggressive-sounding song is up there is also one of the happiest & most hopeful in the game
I love how the lyrics are really wholesome behind that growling voice. It reminds of those times when me and my friends joked about what if Sepultura did songs about world peace and hippie things
Thinking about how far El, Ram, and everyone have come brings a huge smile to my face. Even Sol and Asuka managed to find a little peace, maybe just for now. You can feel the love poured into this series, and Daisuke's effort has paid off immensely.

This is my new favorite theme by far. The awesome lyrics and the two tones of voice that complement each other so well, and I love how sad it somehow sounds with the guitar right after the first chorus and at the start of the orchestra near the end. And just like many of the other themes it makes sure to not be repetitive. Hell, one verse of the vocals even reminds me of country pop.
All vocals are performed by the same woman: Molly Daisy. She is the lead singer of the Hyper Psychic band, as well as a mocap actress for Days Gone and The Last of Us game series.
When you're the music character, there's a great pressure for your theme to be the greatest, or at least super memorable. Congratulations, you pass! Jam Project would be proud of that chorus!
Thanks clouddrop, absolutely love the formula you've come up with. Really showcases all the hard work Arc System Works puts into each character with immaculate vibes.
I like how everyone hated elphelt in xrd but now people are loving playing as her, but hopefully she is a character everyone loves and not hate in strive, hopefully she is not another HC but we have to see how she does in tournaments.
@ashyunderscore yeah I like her new design to once I saw that I knew the devs had fun making her. Hopefully I like playing as her cause they keep nerfing my character I hate it.
Great song for a generation of people who lack purpose and meaning, but are fighting hard to live in a fulfilling way nonetheless. Life is full of the little extras that make it worth living. Can't forget to keep enjoying them while we're here. Eat a burger, sing a song, dance down the street. Let's have some fun.
When you really pay attention to the lyrics it such a sad story being brought into the world for one goal only to loose your memory and when finally about to find happiness it's all taken away making her wanting to get married because she thinks it's true happiness but then grows realizing there's others like her and instead decides to bring happiness to others. So no whatever Twitter says this is not a character assassination it's a proper growth of her character just because she's not wedding obsessed like in xrd doesn't mean she's not a bubbly loving character. And she still is wedding obsessed with Nagoryuki.
when i heard "buckle up" i think it was a warning couse i did not expect to hear what came after that, i listened to a lot of songs but nothing could prepare me for this masterpiece its like a complete brute and an angel sang this. Nothing can depict how beutiful and awesome is this song nor words or numbers. Im pretty sure that Molly when singing this song had a lot of fun and put her heart, body and soul to it.
This will be one of those that may take me a while to completely vibe, or that i will need to be at a certain humor to vibe better to. But it still is a REALLY good song, and the DEATH HOWL... GOD, Molly has a INCREDIBLE range. Edit... 4 days later and i am already vibing... didn't take much XD.
I _can't_ stop listening to this song!!! I love the blend of different styles and genres into something that is quirky and unique, but is absolutely enjoyable. I've been playing video games since the early eighties, and I can honestly say this character's design - as a whole - is possibly my favorite, ever. [Edit: added comment] It's interesting to me that my second favorite song in this OST is Jack-O's song. They both are unapologetically upbeat and optimistic.
I like how this song with one of its central themes being about appreciating everyone for who they are seemingly includes small lyrical allusions to previous themes, also adding a slight tone of nostalgic reminiscence. A few examples: "Ignite the drive (drive) in your soul" "Now my heart is blazing" from Smell of the Game "I'm soaring higher, the clouds took me away, no one can find me" "I flew so high I could, see everything" from Requiem "I know who I am, I'm just a little lost" "I know who I am, the moonlit lake told me" from Smell of the Game "But don't get me wrong, I'm having a great time" "Happiness to last a life time" from Rock Parade "Oh hallelujah" a bit of a weaker example, but arguably invokes parallels the themes of belief in Armour-Clad Faith "But then I realised, I just need to weed it all" another somewhat weak example, invokes parallels to Like A Weed, Naturally, As A Matter Of Course Might be a bit of a stretch, but the lyrics certainly get me to reflect on the themes of other characters.

God, the fact that the line “rub-a-dub-a-dub” is 1) a part of this song, period, 2) is sung in death metal style, and 3) ACTUALLY FUCKING WORKS is something that by all rights SHOULDN’T be as awesome as it is, but it IS! And it’s MAGNIFICENT! Guilty Gear is truly a fucking masterpiece; how the hell does something THIS absurd exist in such a remarkable fashion?! Like, H O W ? !
Daisuke's vision doesn't miss.
If he can make "the bees knees" work he can make anything work
I guess they're guilty for it 😅
how is bro everywhere lmao
what does “rub-a-dub-a-dub” mean to the character? im new to this series
2:15-2:32 Mariah Carey aside, I really like these lyrics of "Yeah, I'll be laughed at, but I won't let it get to me. I won't listen to the haters, and I'll choose my own happiness."
Bedman? Comes out:
They cant make a song better, thaN the Circle
Asuka Comes out: They cant make a song better than The Gravity
Johnny comes out: They cant make a song better than Just Lean
Elphelt comes out: They can't make a song better than Extras

Yea I agree!
And I'm married to her, it's crazy. Like it's actually cannon (trust) I married her

The clocks regret ticking
It’s guilty because he killed his wife, and then did it 2 more times
@@Shy_002And then married her again

She's beauty
She's grace
Her singing melts off my face
I love how the lyrics are really wholesome behind that growling voice. It reminds of those times when me and my friends joked about what if Sepultura did songs about world peace and hippie things
Thinking about how far El, Ram, and everyone have come brings a huge smile to my face. Even Sol and Asuka managed to find a little peace, maybe just for now.
You can feel the love poured into this series, and Daisuke's effort has paid off immensely.
molly's vocals are some of the only vocals i've ever heard to actually suprise me
heavenly i say
More info: All vocals are performed by the same woman: Molly Daisy.
She is the lead singer of the Hyper Psychic band, as well as a mocap actress for Days Gone and The Last of Us game series.
The combination of death metal and pop just makes this my most favorite new song now. It’s like the best of both worlds when it comes to the GGST songs.
Leave it to Daisuke to find a way to make you bang your head to "rub-a-dub-a-dub."
This has got to be the funniest theme to me. Everyone expected her theme to be like Jack-O’s, Bridget’s or May’s, but the reveal trailer just starts with heavy metal lmao

Wait so that opening but WASNT Naoki!? Damn, talk about vocal range.
Happy birthday elphelt!
Happy birthday axel!

"Are you brave enough to be a fool" is the hardest fuckin bar ever
This is my new favorite theme by far. The awesome lyrics and the two tones of voice that complement each other so well, and I love how sad it somehow sounds with the guitar right after the first chorus and at the start of the orchestra near the end. And just like many of the other themes it makes sure to not be repetitive. Hell, one verse of the vocals even reminds me of country pop.
My head canon is that they chose a different singer for this specific song because this song exists in the game universe and Elphelt herself sang it.
Complete the arcade mode. Make sure you lose one round though.
All vocals are performed by the same woman: Molly Daisy.
She is the lead singer of the Hyper Psychic band, as well as a mocap actress for Days Gone and The Last of Us game series.
the insane range on this woman's ability to vocalize is talent that comes few and far between
Fewer woman practice growling, all woman are capable of growling. This ain't talent, this is hardwork paying off
Thick thighs save lives, and Elphelt is here to save the world.
When you're the music character, there's a great pressure for your theme to be the greatest, or at least super memorable.
Congratulations, you pass!
Jam Project would be proud of that chorus!
unfortunately the other character with an instrument has my least favorite song in the game by far
My god, that part between 4:07 and 4:33 is so divine

Thanks clouddrop, absolutely love the formula you've come up with. Really showcases all the hard work Arc System Works puts into each character with immaculate vibes.
I like how everyone hated elphelt in xrd but now people are loving playing as her, but hopefully she is a character everyone loves and not hate in strive, hopefully she is not another HC but we have to see how she does in tournaments.
She was a walking Guns and Roses reference. So I guess I was one of the few that liked her by default.
@@Angelzvx And she wonderfully still is! Her new dress is a bouquet of flowers!
@ashyunderscore yeah I like her new design to once I saw that I knew the devs had fun making her. Hopefully I like playing as her cause they keep nerfing my character I hate it.

Shit. I didn’t expect to tear up scrolling the Extras comment section. Beautifully put.
I'm not the only one that start's to hear "Amazing Grace" Right about here (4:17) right?
They used All I want from Christmas two minutes in and Amazing grace 4 minutes in, the reason likely being that she was born on Christmas
Perfect timing for December
The first part is so heavy beyond any other gg track
When you really pay attention to the lyrics it such a sad story being brought into the world for one goal only to loose your memory and when finally about to find happiness it's all taken away making her wanting to get married because she thinks it's true happiness but then grows realizing there's others like her and instead decides to bring happiness to others. So no whatever Twitter says this is not a character assassination it's a proper growth of her character just because she's not wedding obsessed like in xrd doesn't mean she's not a bubbly loving character. And she still is wedding obsessed with Nagoryuki.
You really cannot predict anything from Daisuke.
All you know for sure, its gonna be a banger.
2:14 "I just want you for my own, more than you could ever know. Make my wish come truee, all I want for christmas is youuu"

I _can't_ stop listening to this song!!! I love the blend of different styles and genres into something that is quirky and unique, but is absolutely enjoyable.
I've been playing video games since the early eighties, and I can honestly say this character's design - as a whole - is possibly my favorite, ever.
[Edit: added comment]
It's interesting to me that my second favorite song in this OST is Jack-O's song. They both are unapologetically upbeat and optimistic.
I like how this song with one of its central themes being about appreciating everyone for who they are seemingly includes small lyrical allusions to previous themes, also adding a slight tone of nostalgic reminiscence.
A few examples:
"Ignite the drive (drive) in your soul"
"Now my heart is blazing" from Smell of the Game
"I'm soaring higher, the clouds took me away, no one can find me"
"I flew so high I could, see everything" from Requiem
"I know who I am, I'm just a little lost"
"I know who I am, the moonlit lake told me" from Smell of the Game
"But don't get me wrong, I'm having a great time"
"Happiness to last a life time" from Rock Parade
"Oh hallelujah"
a bit of a weaker example, but arguably invokes parallels the themes of belief in Armour-Clad Faith
"But then I realised, I just need to weed it all"
another somewhat weak example, invokes parallels to Like A Weed, Naturally, As A Matter Of Course
Might be a bit of a stretch, but the lyrics certainly get me to reflect on the themes of other characters.
