Notice how the song starts the beat is thunderous and loud, indicating turmoil, like it’s trying to be masculine and tough with all the bass and boom, but isn’t quite correct, but as the singer starts to air her frustrations in each verse the chorus gets less boomy and bass, until it’s gone and sounds Ore triumphant and clear like the song knows what it wants to be. Bridgets struggle in life being in the theme lyrics is powerful and reminds me of Vergils "Bury the light". Both characters are plagued by trauma and want to overcome it.
It mirrors Bury the Light, in that instead of accepting hardship as inevitable it's about choosing to do things that make you happy, and letting go of the burdens that were forced upon you rather than carrying them out of a sense of obligation.
I love this song so much. I feel like this pretty much perfectly captures her journey in one beautiful song. Brisket has been trying to define herself for her entire life, and so having her be able to find her true self here is so sweet it makes me cry every time I hear it (admittedly this does make having her as my main in strive a little difficult). They’re all metaphors for the gender dysphoria she felt, hence why the final verse (with her finally accepting herself) is so much more triumphant
Yeah I'm me and nothing will change that. - Bridget I did it, it was my fault I killed all those people, I should of been the one who died, I didn't even know their names - Leo
I think the town inside her represents how she allowed the external influence of everyone else in dictating her life. And the fact that she isn't there is reflecting how she hasn't tried to actually decide for herself. Everything she's done has been despite of, or because of, directly someone else.
The "Me without Me. I'm the one to blame." just perfectly describes how I look back at realizing I was trans, and then the ensuing self loathing of not realizing sooner. But finding this bop, and franchise, after reaching my "Let's paint the gray haze into sky blue. I know who you are! I'm not leaving you again!" phase has been making for a really fun two weeks. 🤘

The story-telling that takes place in each song in GG: Strive is such a phenomenal way to get newcomers of the series invested in these characters. This song perfectly portrays Bridget's story of confidence and self-love overtime. Bravo GG: Strive, bravo.
Not even just bridget, but everyones personality and mental struggles are represented perfectly by the songs. Jack-o just wants to do nice things with sol, zato's song is so long that you only hear the emotional part where he finally finds the ability to feel again possibly with millia, sol's theme perfectly represents how he doesn't ever strike first, he literally STRIKE BACK's against those that attack him and those he cares about, and so on. And giovanna's is basically "Fuck you" but in the "Why am I here" way, the song, she doesn't want to get involved in this sort of thing.
bridget got literally force raised as a girl by his parents, forced to dress like a girl, behave like a girl, got mutilated so he doesnt go into puberty. pretty telling trans people worship a character that got groomed.
It's more she come to terms with her life. She set out originally to prove that she wasn't a burden to her hometown because of a superstition that identical twins were a sign of bad omen for the town she came from. Her parents forcibly raised her as a girl. She basically had gender dysphoria but in the opposite direction. She did all the things she said she would do to prove something to someone else. This song is her coming to terms that she doesn't have to prove herself to anyone to be happy.
I think my favorite thing about this song is the way it builds up and incorporates more instruments every time the chorus comes through - like Bridget slowly gaining confidence in their own identity leading up to that triumphant orchestral sweep; she’s stopped running and fully accepted herself, as always GGST themes have amazing storytelling!
sometimes it feels like both bridget and testament theme music complement each other. like bridget it's about discovering yourself and being afraid of being yourself and accepting yourself slowly. while testament's theme is accepting yourself and not being ashamed of being yourself and enjoying life in peace.
this song has been living rent free in my head every since it came out at first i only liked the chorus and hated the everything else but it grew on me and now i love the entire song
"The town inside me, and everyone's voice. Only I'm not there, just watching from afar" It basically means society preconceived notions drilled into her in such a young age, growing up not being herself and have to live under shadows of others. She also blame other things such as her alarm clock, instead of adressing her actual gender dysphoria, indicate unsolved trauma that a lot of transgender people experiences.
The fact that every single line is super trans coded except *maaaayyyybbbbeeee* the town inside me part, but even there it's like the whole "people telling you what you should like and be ok with when that's just not what vibes with you" thing about being trans is honestly super impressive lmao
For such an upbeat sounding song, it actually has some sad but hopeful lyrics. It kind of embodies Bridget's life from the time she was born, having to take on a false identity to protect her family, to being able to fully realize exactly who and what she is. This game really has effort put into it from top to bottom.

i have never played this, or any other game from this series, before. one day someone i was subscribed to did a video about the "is bridget trans or a femboy?" drama and i thought: "oh, interesting choice of weapon. i wish i could look this cute while holding a yoyo." so i searched bridget up and i immediately thought her theme song slaps. and here i am, almost one year later. i've picked up yoyoing as a hobby since and it has made my life a lot better, and i now i think i look almost as cute as bridget with a yoyo. thanks, bridget!

Alarm Clocks wake you up to face the day! She has the gift, but can't open the box. She wants what's inside but it takes so much strength to open it up. Only with the support of people who tell her that she'll be alright can she do it.
Quit calling me out >:[
riddle me this batman, if vegetable good why no taste good?
those comments are also stuff that people kinda push on you, eating vegetables, having alarm clocks that are unpleasant but needed to be on time, and opening presents only when its the right time (christmas and stuff). She literally stops the big realisation with the expectations people have of her, althought i do think its important that even in those comments shes aware she isnt a big fan of said things
It was such a revelation for me because that’s exactly how I dealt with Dysphoria.
Thank you Bridget I owe you my life
@@RandomCommentMakerPerson Because improper preparation! Vegetable can taste very good if you prepare them to your own tastes. You just gotta find the best presentation for you, rather than the presentation that others mandate.
Notice how the song starts the beat is thunderous and loud, indicating turmoil, like it’s trying to be masculine and tough with all the bass and boom, but isn’t quite correct, but as the singer starts to air her frustrations in each verse the chorus gets less boomy and bass, until it’s gone and sounds
Ore triumphant and clear like the song knows what it wants to be. Just like Bridget. That’s an entire life story in a song

She was trying to be a boy for the sake of other people, growing doing things just for others to pursuing her own happiness feels like a good way to end it and turns the off screen moment where she did get rid of the superstition into a turning point in the arc rather then the end of it.

This banger really be a rollercoaster, just like coming to terms with your identity. Really embodies her growth as a character.
bridget got literally force raised as a girl by his parents, forced to dress like a girl, behave like a girl, got mutilated so he doesnt go into puberty. pretty telling trans people worship a character that got groomed.
Also important to mention the slight pipe organ segments, probably a reference to Bridget's nun attire.
And how "I'm the one to blame" gets muted the last time it comes around. ♥️

the one with the yoyo, of course!!!
This song and The jaiden animations video, gave me the courage to come out to my parents about being Aro Ace, it went great! :D
When i listened to this song yesterday i mostly thought like, "Well i only live once, and if i hide for years it won't make me any happier!"
Why does this need a flag and a "coming out"?
I just saw there are several aromantic spectrums people may use to identify with. Holy moly, wild times.

i have never played this, or any other game from this series, before. one day someone i was subscribed to did a video about the "is bridget trans or a femboy?" drama and i thought: "oh, interesting choice of weapon. i wish i could look this cute while holding a yoyo." so i searched bridget up and i immediately thought her theme song slaps. and here i am, almost one year later. i've picked up yoyoing as a hobby since and it has made my life a lot better, and i now i think i look almost as cute as bridget with a yoyo. thanks, bridget!
Great for you friend
good for you
It's cold out today, but this song makes me feel just a little bit warmer.
its funny how there are people trying to explain why Biscut isn't trans in the comment section of her main song talking about her being trans and understanding it and coming out.
Ya it nails dysphoria "im just unhappy because x small thing" and just watching from a far is dissociation the fog is the brain fog trans fem mind before HRT.
