    Just an aside- the ultrasound video is upside down! The area in the top of the image is actually more inferior/ posteriorly oriented in the body

    Could you tell me? what happens when you pee by placing your head down and leg up? Does urine come out Or not ? I am asking this question considering gravity ......

    • @TenderLemonWedge
      @TenderLemonWedge 9 лет назад

      I'd consider the answer being similar to that of how the esophagus works, where it's more of an involuntary thing once it reaches certain points. We can't hold our urine forever, regardless of position. Gravity can only allow the process to speed up (like how standing up right we swallow much smoother than swallowing food upside down). To explain in a deeper level though, I'm not sure how to put that into words. :'v
      *Two month late bonus* woo!

      2 years later, but better late than never right?
      the urine would still come out because of a movement similar to peristalsis

    • @VoidHalo
      @VoidHalo 7 лет назад +1

      Gravity has little to do with urination. Whether you urinate or not depends on the contraction of your detrussor muscle while your urinary sphincters relax. It would be like if you were to try and eat while doing a hand stand. The food would still travel "up" your esophagus and into your stomach because of the muscular contractions. If this weren't so then astronauts would have a very difficult time in space. Hope that answers your question.

    I love these videos and they have helped me so much! That being said, it would be super cool to hear some of these videos revised to say "people who have penises" or something, rather than "women" and "men". Trans patients need competent health care providers who don't assume things about their genitals (UTI risk, for example) based on gender.
