You're a natural born teacher. I've learned so much from you. Your instructions are always crystal clear and your videos are perfectly paced for a beginner like me. Thank you and big thanks to your awesome dad!
Thank you so much for this video. I am going to make the black and white as a baby blanket for our 10th grandchild who is due in March 2017. We had a cousin pass away recently and she requested that people donate to 3 charities that she was devoted to, one of which is Susan G. Komen, so I am going to make this is pink and white and buy awareness ribbon brooches to raise money for Susan G. Komen Foundation. I just wanted you to know you are part of this effort because you give me so many ideas. I love your videos and you are a wonderful instructor.
Houndstooth is very popular down here in Alabama because of the University of Alabama. I can't wait to make one, two, or ten of these! Thank you so much!!
Hi Nadia! Congratulations for being this excellent person. I'm from 🇧🇷 Brasil and I'm learning so much with you. You're a very good teacher and very smart with your work. God bless you. I'm your very fan now ❤️

- Just what I needed! My mother loves this black and white pattern and I'm so happy I stumbled over it today! Now I have lots of time to make it before Christmas... 😂😂😂 (25th of July today)
I can't wait to try this pattern!!! I'm making my brother an afghan in the Oregon State Univ Beavers colors and I think this will work perfectly!!!! Will balance out all the bright orange!!! LOL. Thank you for a great tutorial!!!
I am making this along with you but in gray and pink because that is what I have on hand, but I can't wait to make it in a black and white. So beautiful and yet so simple. Thank you. Happy hooking!!
Great beginner video. Very detailed. If you want to save quite a bit of yarn all you need to do is, at the end of the row, cut about a 6” length of the 1st yarn that you’re about to drop and crochet that “straggler” piece, along with the non working end of the new color, in just like it shows here, until they’re both hidden, then just add that 1st color on again at the end of the row. Then, again, do the same with those 2 non working ends. All your ends are automatically woven in and you don’t have to carry the nonshowing color along.
Beautiful i cant wait to try the houndstooth. I recieved some black and red wool from a friend last year. I think it would make a beautiful as something. I don't think I have enough for a shawl but maybe a small scarf.
I've been working on a blanket using this exact same pattern ... but it was called a puff stitch. I used one skein of color, when changed to another color, using a full skein, repeated the first skein of color, repeated the second color, and will finish with the first skein again, then border it. I did not know I was doing the houndstooth design. Just a word of advice, really make sure you aren't accidentally doing a SC or DC twice in a row or whatever. I now have the honor of having to 'fudge' my way through the blanket cause I do have double (and sometimes triple) of the same stitch in a row. Go figure. But it's hard to notice since it is hidden in a variegated color or a solid color. And also my sides (ends) are flaring out a bit for some reason. But nothing horrible and can be 'fixed' with a border. Will definitely do the alternating color design for a shawl next!
